its not a munchkin or a bird its the director he hung himself when the movie was being filmed and thats him they didnt notice him when they were filming but later in the movie they found out that that was the director or some guy on the cast.

I strongly believe that a munchkin was hanged in the background of this scene, and that it was covered up by a bird. To avenge the murder of this poor person, I harassed all of the actors and directors of Oz for many years. Every month I would send them in the mail a picture of a hanging munchkin, and would dab blood around his neck that I extracted from myself, and would write at the top: "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID TO HIM." Eventually, though, I was caught by the law, and did 3 months in the slammer.

in color, you can tell it's a birds wings, but in black and white, i bet whoever started the rumor got alot of ppl. because in black and white, you really can't tell where the bird is and because of the color of it's wings, in black and white, it looks like a hanging munckin.

It was not edited to look like a bird. This scene was shot before any of the munchkin scenes, thus there weren't any munchkin actors on set at MGM when this scene was filmed. It's a bird, it always was a bird.

this was debunked along time ago.. its not a hanging munchkin.. for one they wouldnt leave it in the movie.. was a bird.. they had real birds on set. exocitc birds, peacocks and everything.. this was a cran or something spreading its wings.. BOOO .. you might as well beleive that the charlie chaplan movie had a time traveler also.
