  • This isent the real one you got the edited one the VHS one is the one that shows it

  • This isn't the original footage. If you have the original vhs from the 80s you will CLEARLY see it's a human hanging. They put a bird in its place to cover up. Watch the original footage.

  • this video is bogus!!! you have to have the vhs tape that first came out back in the 80's. After that the scene was edited and a bird was put in place of it.

  • Wrong version.

  • this video is the edited version. when theysaw the body on set they kept it thinking no one would find it. when people started finding the body on the vhs version they replaced it with a bird and released it on dvd

  • @TheSindygarcia yep it is a bird u right. but this isnt the actual footage of the hanging person. its another version. they used a bird in the same area almost as a cover up or to confuse people. watch the vhs version on youtube.

  • there are two versions. one is of an emu type bird in the same location where the person is hanging on another version. the bird may be a cover up to confuse people and to divert attention from the other take. the film company obviously wud call it a myth. they wouldnt want to have any negativity associated with it. if u not seen the vhs version. do. its clear as day somone is hanging. may not be a munchkin but is defo human.

  • okay no its a bird (crane)

they borrowed a crane from the zoo for one of the scences with the witch and it could not have been the munchkins cause they werent even in town while filming this scence because they did not need to be.

  • @toto123701

Watch the video called The Wizard of OZ Munchkin Suicide Debunked! if you don't believe me!

  • its a bird (crane)

  • 1, there's no other random animals in the movie - especially not huge ones. 2, I still have the original vhs from a million years ago, and it swings back and forth a couple times, and looks nothing like that. And Im one of the last people who will go out looking for things like this, or that believes every stupid thing someone on youtube says. But I remember seeing this when I was a kid on the tape, and have showed it to many people since, who all see the same thing.

  • its a bird, look closely !!

  • IT IS A HANGING MUNCHKIN NOT A FREAKING BIRD!!!!!!

  • i used to work on films sets and i can tell you the set is cleared entirely before they shoot so no munchkim would be able to BE on the set for this scene

  • I was just watching the remastered for DVD version for the first time, and that emu thing has never been there before! I highly doubt that a munchkin hung himself, but the original footage did NOT have that giant flightless bird!

  • Lol for the retards out their this is not the original version this is the editted version, u c it in the original version on vhs only if u have the tape in good condition, nd if u notice their were no good graphics effecte nd no graphics affect at that time, they remastered it 5yrs later

  • @subzero8394 I have the original vhs before it was remastered it has the bird. The hanging munchkin video is an edited hoax, I can prove this without a doubt watch 'clear proof the hanging munchkin video is fake'. Part of the bird appears in that video from nowhere proving its edited. They would have done a reshoot if there was a hanging, and if u look it up youll find they did several reshoots. Its just a hoax

  • i finnaly get the joke in robot chicken

  • HE EDITED THE MOVIE! jk this is solid proof

  • the thing is I don't even know how this is a question. You can clearly see the bird in the backgrounf the entire time.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ocrisia83 Basically an edited hoax was made that does have a hanging person, thats why so many people believe it, it is definitely just an edited prank, its funny how so many people believed it

  • People - if you believe the hanging video is real watch 'clear proof the hanging munchkin video is fake', you'll realise without a doubt its an edited hoax!

  • Anyone can tell this is obviously a bird. You see the whole body when you watch that spot the whole time. Smh people and their lies.

  • its a bird

  • How could people mix a bird flapping it's wing to a man who hung himself??

  • i think its a bird now

  • i believe it is an ostritch.

  • WHO STORES A BIRD ON SET WHILE FILMING??? GET IT A DAMN CAGE

  • Yo they covered it up edited it and put a Bird I seen the Original version thats a Hanging person not a Damn Bird! Yo they edited it out wow technology ! you can trick anyone!

  • @rainbow1892 Wrong the bird was always in the movie, someone made a fake edit as a prank and I can prove without a doubt that its edited watch 'proof that the hanging munchkin video is fake', trust me youll see that its fake. You're right about technology tricking anyone, you were fooled by a fairly poor editing job

  • there was 2 different scenes, in the original one its not that bird at all, its someone hanging there, no wings go out or nothing, just a person hanging there and its even more fucked up cause they point right at it... the film was altered afterwards because they couldnt just have a suicide in the biggest movie yet to date...

  • @dapperslapper Thats bs zapdungaa unboxes the original in his vid 'proof positive there was no hanging person in the wizard of oz', the hanging video is an edited prank

  • its not a person its a bird!! i saw this video in better quality and u can see the shadow of the birds head and the bird is just stretching its wing.... and if u dont believe me... look for a better quality video or look more closely to this video and you'll see it!!

  • Peacock

  • The hanging munchkin is REAL !!

  • its a freaking bird

  • In this video, YES, it is a bird. But look at SuicidalMunchkin's video here on YouTube of the original VHS version, not the edited DVD version, which this is here. That is definitely not a bird...

  • @OrangeSodaKing Thats not the original vhs footage. I have the original vhs tape. SuicidalMunchkin edited the footage and uploaded it to youtube to strike up controversy. It is an emu or other large bird. I'm pretty sure it would have made the news or one of the original video editors would have noticed if a suicide was in a freaking 15 second long clip of the movie. I don't care how you see it, nobody is that stupid.

  • @spiritedaway0tutu Ohhhhhhhhhh, okay. Thanks for clarifying.

  • they proved it was a bird, whatever the real hanging scene was. it was on myths and legends like 3 years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • That's a weird way to commit suicide. Don't you go DOWN instead of sideways??

  • @ferociousgumby

No one is actually hanging their self. It's a bird stretching it's wings.

  • This is not the original movie this is the edited version, in the original movie the bird is not there and it there is a figure that looks like a hanging person

  • in the original movie you can clearly see a hanging little person this is a remake that has been edited

  • This version on this youtube link you're currently at has been doctored to edit out the hanging person... they put the bird there in newer versions to cover it up... as for the carridge scene... new versions have a munchkin lady in the area moving slightly left and right on her feet kind of swaying, but nothing even close to like what is visible in the other version.

  • @daky2kill - So why is the same bird clearly visible not 2 minutes earlier, during If I Only Had a Heart? Somehow I doubt they edited a bird into 2 separate scenes...

  • I Beg To Differ. This Actually Had Happend On The Set. A Guy Hung Himself Because The Scare Crow Was Originally Supposed To Be The Tin Man, N Vis Versa. But The Original Tin Man That Is Now Scare Crow, Was Elergic To The Metalic Paint. A Guy That Was Supposd To Play In The Movie, I Do Not Remember Who, Hung Himself Because He Got Upset About The Switch, N Thought The Movie Was "Ruind" So Before Yew Go N Open Ur Fkn Mouth, Learn Ur Facts. Thankyew, That Is All.

  • @XxVampiress357xX - That doesn't make any sense...why would someone kill themselves b/c they were upset about a casting change? They happen all the time in Hollywood...and even if they did, how were they able to avoid being spotted by the entire crew, and why wouldn't MGM have just re-shot the scene if that actually happened? Sounds like you're the one who needs to "learn your facts".

  • wrong fucking version clearly a fake crane

  • The bird is because try rented them from the zoo and let them fly around the set. Check snoops.com

Judy Garland herself started this RUMOR

  • Am I the only one that thinks this should be the question being asked?? What the HECK is a gimongous bird doing on the set of the Wizard of Oz?!?!

  • U RETARDS IT IS HIS WING WHEN HE FLAPS IT OUT WOW!

    THE BIRDS WING!

  • Comment removed

  • It's bullshit, there is no midget hanging anywhere no matter what film you look at.

  • It's a big bird!

  • looks like youre filming through 13 screen doors...

i guess it cant be helped though...

  • i dont see it o.o

  • That's a bird... there is a version on youtube "Wizard of Oz 2011: Hanging Munchkin Found on VHS Tape" that does show the munchkin hanging in this scene... there is another scene also... the scene with the horse and driver when dorothy gets on the carridge... just above the drivers head and slightly to the right in the far back you see a munchkin swaying back and forth left and right... it's only in the old versions of the movie and has been edited out for obvious reasons.

  • @daky2kill Can you send me a link of that? :)

  • I stand corrected...

  • this is the remade move if you watch the original vhs tape youll see a totaly differnet thing check it out

  • Comment removed

  • People are dumb.

  • I don't even see how it looks like a munchkin and i don't even see how it looks like a bird D;

  • oono no no no no no no no no no no no D´:

  • Sorry everyone who believes this shit but you're stupid. Do some research and shut the fuck up!! -.-

  • its been edited so theres a wing

  • they used a bird to cover it up when ppl started to notice it when the new one came out

  • I know it's a bird, but it's more fun to say it's a hanging munchkin...

  • @Ollie7707 no its really a hanging person wo killed themself on set and they edited it to be a bird

  • @MrFreefonix

lol, they didn't have editing back then (not like we have it now) and besides, at this point we'd have to completely take your word for it because there's NO proof without actually being able to see the munchkin.

  • @Ollie7707 yes there is the edited after not at the start look at other videos look here ----------------------------> they are all there look at them

  • superman like a boss

  • It is quite blatantly a bird. As far as I know, munchkins don't have wings...

  • @3daysgracerok thye edited the video because the original had the hanging person and the person was dead .......

  • my teacher was the make-up artist and she said one of the munchkin hung theirself and dorothy screamed when she turn leaving the woods.

  • OMG what is this technology... YOU CAN ZOOM NOW?????

  • bullshit ,this scene was done over, there is a hanging person from the first scene.

  • You are watching a DVD. They changed it. Look for the wizard of oz VHS. DVD's can be altered VHS tapes cannot. Its pointless examining something that was already changed.

  • wow how many pixels can i count 1

  • it's Matt Damon

  • Its a bird my guess its a harin you can see its head move from looking strait ahead then it takes a few steps before stretching its wings then turns its head to the right.

  • This is the edited version, watch the unedited version at SuicidalMunchkin channel

  • I prefer donuts to munchkins.(especially dead ones!)

  • it looks like a paon

  • Bird,

  • its a bird

  • It's. A. BIRD!!! -_-

  • it looks like just a bird to me... wtheck???

  • It looks like a bird but the sewing motion rlly dosent seem like a bird more like a person 1 it's 1 to fast for a bird and 2 you don't see a neck!

  • @UnbiasedIntellectual- haha good math

  • Bird

  • i guess we will never know The End

  • FACT: The bird escaped from the set next door

  • tits

  • @GIOVANNI94825 wow gio your fucking retarded <3

  • This version is clearly a bird. there are other versions though.

  • I dont see it but my family pointed out the same thing.

  • i dont think its a bird because why would they put a bird all the way back there no one would be looking back there

  • @DEATHCON5able They probably added bird's in the scene. Bird's are living. the bird probably walked over there. They probably figured that the scene had fake tree's, fake house, and fake grass. They most likely wanted SOMETHING living in the scene.

  • @DEATHCON5able they already confirmed it was a bird the producers rented from a zoo roaming around in the set. and they didn't put it there as part of the scene they just let the bird do whatever it wanted to.

  • creepy ass movie

  • @Mrdeftoness1 haha.. couldn't agree more

  • God damn its a bird u freakin idiots (in u think its a munchkin)

  • its not a munchkin or a bird its the director he hung himself when the movie was being filmed and thats him they didnt notice him when they were filming but later in the movie they found out that that was the director or some guy on the cast.

  • @FromDaStore I want you to know you're dumb.

  • yhea thats a bird..

  • Why would they keep that part and not take it out or cut or something fake

  • wtf? :S

  • It's a bird... so it's depressing because that hanging made the movie more interesting

  • its a munchkin jease

  • THAT'S A BIG FUCKING ASS BIRD. DAMN. YOUR GIANT BIRD GODDAMN'T.

  • I think it's a big bird and a munchkin having sex for sure!

  • defo a bird

  • once its zoomed in it is clear and its a big bird opening the wings, why would a dude hang himself on set while others continue to act this is too funny !!!

  • its a giant bird

  • it is a munchkin, on the suggestions e will be one called " Wizard of Oz 2011: Hanging Munchkin Found on VH...... and more letters. the uplaoders name is SuicidalMunchkin. thats the REAL video. and they edited out the munchkin

  • That's depressing:[

  • And then:''Cut, it's an ok., everybody clear the set!!!, ohhh my god is that a hanged midget, OMG!!! did anyone knows whos he hanging on my scene, anyone knows his name???!!! does he had a family????!!!!, no??? ok. print that one we are running low on budget'' now you understand how ridicuolous that ll be, is a dark industry, but not that dark

  • @xsol1dsn4kex lmaoooo exactly !

  • I strongly believe that a munchkin was hanged in the background of this scene, and that it was covered up by a bird. To avenge the murder of this poor person, I harassed all of the actors and directors of Oz for many years. Every month I would send them in the mail a picture of a hanging munchkin, and would dab blood around his neck that I extracted from myself, and would write at the top: "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID TO HIM." Eventually, though, I was caught by the law, and did 3 months in the slammer.

  • dude watch the vhs version on here..its not a bird they edited it out when the added technicolor and all that for the dvd version...

  • i used to think it was true but my dad told me it was a bird now i cant even see a munchkin hanging himself

  • that was an actual munchkin that did that on the set

  • omg i am watching the movie (the color version) and it still kind of looks like a munchkin so they didnt do a very good job editing

  • si esta editado!

  • son unos putos es un pajaro que abre las alas

  • remastered is edited my great grandpa is the directer of movie and the munchkin did kill self

  • @jokerjaden01 Hahaha, suuuure... ;)

  • this is the edited version of it, watch the original VHS one and you can clearly see its a body, they just remastered it to make it look like a bird on new copys of the movie

  • is this myth true or fake i just wanna know because ive been hearing from everyone about it

  • @TheMetallicafan20 true my great grandpa (the director) told me

  • On this one show they said one of the elves had a serious problem and hanged himself...and no one found out until later on.

  • This is the digitally remastered version. Watch the original VHS tape.

  • Lol it's a bird stupid shits

  • Wow illumanity has everybody controlled. you have to think for your self and under stand anything is possible. The thing is you people are afraid and dont want to see something that is possible. THINK!

  • Its weird becouse i've seen this one

    youtube.com/watch?v=P8YVeMwhDNI

  • if you noticed it stuck its head out first and then flapped its wings its a stupid flamingo or at least thats what it looked like

  • Comment removed

  • lol looks like a emu

  • omg i just watched a video where they had a real munchkin ffrom the set proove it wrong its fake!

  • duh i dont get how ANYONE in their right mind can think that ^ is a hanging anything?!?! its the friggon bird's wings for hell sakes!

  • Search this to see proof -

Wizard of Oz 2011: Hanging Munchkin Found on VHS Tape

  • Yuhh Guysz Aree Wronqq, They Madee It Look Likee A Bird In Thisz Onee To Cover The Suicidee.

  • @XxDezyCrunkkxX Thank You :)

If they r gonna show the dvd version, they should also show the vhs one too

  • in color, you can tell it's a birds wings, but in black and white, i bet whoever started the rumor got alot of ppl. because in black and white, you really can't tell where the bird is and because of the color of it's wings, in black and white, it looks like a hanging munckin.

  • I'm taking the other side of the fence. (it's obviously a bird) I think it's a hanging munchkin. :P

  • It was not edited to look like a bird. This scene was shot before any of the munchkin scenes, thus there weren't any munchkin actors on set at MGM when this scene was filmed. It's a bird, it always was a bird.

  • ROBBIE STOP MOVING THE CAMERA!.... PUT YOUR DIRTY FINGER OUT OF THER

  • Why do people carry on with this!?! It's a great scary story and a facinating legend, but it's just a bird!! How do you not see it?!?!

  • it a bird cause of the bill

  • this was debunked along time ago.. its not a hanging munchkin.. for one they wouldnt leave it in the movie.. was a bird.. they had real birds on set. exocitc birds, peacocks and everything.. this was a cran or something spreading its wings.. BOOO .. you might as well beleive that the charlie chaplan movie had a time traveler also.

  • it began with the B&W version, after it

re-released in color everyone saw it was a bird.

  • It kinda looks like a bird and a munchkin. I know it's a bird.

  • its not real. it was a crane they used for the forest scene

  • BIRD

  • It looks like a bird here.

  • thats a fuckin bird

  • its a bird

  • You mean when the bird opens its' wings?

  • It is a bird, look closely, its bobbing its head down at the point where you think its a munchkin ....

  • even tho it is a bird ........ why would there be a bird on set cuz it does look like a big bird too

  • @taylorchavis1 to give the backround a more realistic feeling.

  • @taylorchavis1 I think they had a few birds in that part walking around in the forest

  • @taylorchavis1 It was there to create atmosphere. Obviously, film-makers today would be a bit smarter.

  • but you gotta let ppl have their fun

  • Funny..... I have an autograph my mother got herself from one of the munchkins in that movie when he went to st louis and he told her it was equipment falling...... strange.... =) but it makes you wonder why the stories keep changing

  • it looks like an crane or a emu that bent down to eat the grass or sumthing then turns around and spreads its wings. and it was borrowed from the los Angeles zoo to give the backround a more realistic feel.

  • it looks like an ostrich that bent down to eat the grass or sumthing then turns around and spreads its wings.

  • it looks like a bird but why is it in the studio?

munchkin are in the movie but it doesnt look like a one at all.

    I think quackinator1 is right

  • clearly a bird

  • It's said that. the directors son additioned for the scarecrow and didn't get the part so he hung himself o.o... But idk if it's true or not x3
