@boboystikz Watch my videos i have the amd althon 4200 x2 toledo version. I got mine to 2.9ghz COMPLETELY stable. Its my newest video. Its quite simple I have a terrible cheap gigabyte k8n mobo!
what the fuck?! is that a manchester? i got mine to 2.7ghz stable anything more then 245mhz fsb overheats so i cant test it until i get a different heatsink. your telling me this is feasible? and or stable? TELL ME BITCH!?
around about 30c idle and about 40-45c under max load 65 to 75 is way too high is it still working? you might need to get a new fan,our clean the fan dust might be blocking the movement
I got the 4200 X2, and i want to overclock it, but have no idea how, if i get someone to do it and all, whats the bad thing that can happend, overheating or so?
Just go to your bios. Mostly press the Dell buton while starting up your computer. Then find "200" somewhere. Change it into 220. 220x11= your ammount of MHZ
With multiplier 'locked' CPU's any increase in base frequency (default is 200MHz), also increases not only your core speed, but also the HT Links and memory speeds.
Without knowing the outcome of such alterations (and how to compensate for them) you risk stability and even damage.
First, establish what the CPU itself is capable of reaching. Then establish what other components you're using: motherboard, memory and PSU.
you said "As you can see the OCed 4200+ almost outperforms the X2 6400+ Black Edition. ^^". the X2 6400+has much more cache than the 4200+. ur 4200 is slower regardless of clock
I have the same Cpu But I want to Overclock it Will And i want to clock it to Like 3.1 :D but will i get Blue screen wont it Be werry hot. I have a geforce 9600 gt And 4 fans and 3 G of ddr2 Ram
I just discovered that my Athlon X2 4200+, which runs at 2.2ghz, ran at 2.48ghz. This was why Crysis was running at peaks of 48fps. Now my cousin tweaked around with the bios settings on his own, and my cpu's back at 2.21ghz. I tried changing the bios settings (CPU Clock = 2200mhz, Voltage = 1.3, PCI Clock = 110, CPU Frequency = 217) and now its running at 2.39ghz. Overall, not bad, but how can I raise it back to 2.48ghz or even higher? I have an ECS GeForce 6100SM-M Mobo by the way.
Can somebody help me ? I have an Acer Veriton M410 with the Athlon 64 X2 5000+ procesor and the 690V motherboard. The bios in it has no overclocking features and i can't find an update bios for it. Does anyone have any ideas on overclocking it ?
then u cant overclock with the bios, many branded pcs dont have overclocking fetures cuz the ppl whi make them dont want u to get more than what u pay for :/
what configuration do you have? i want to do this too...and i have to buy a motherboard cuz mune is so bad....and what cooling sistem? and surse?

QuadTubeChannel 2 years ago
@QuadTubeChannel I usually google it and see the overclock results for a specific cpu, good way of knowing by default what your cpu can handle
chevezez 1 year ago
you can take that 4200x2 further if you keep the HT link closer to 1000mhz they become unstable once you go past 1100 change HT link to 4x
i have a 4200x2 that can do 3.1ghz pretty decent oc on a 4200x2 you got a nice chip there 10.5x will give you more headroom on the ram if you seek it
