The whole thing creeps me out; there's the sound of the mask latching onto his face using god knows what, then it sounds like it's contorting and crushing the bones in his face or something. All the while he's writhing around in pain trying to get the thing off his face. Then finally that scream and the mask becoming his face, and the mask containing some expression of extreme agony...

Methinks the reason he screams is not scientific, but more or less mental trauma. There may be serious genetic rewrites going on, but think about it. Every transformation is to a character who suffered in some way. Scrub had his soul sucked out, Darmani was thrown into a pit and impaled, Mikau died on a beach, and Oni being rather demonic probably had quite a few mental issues. And they all suffered from issues in their own home locals. He's screaming at being hit by all this mental trauma. :/

@ObscuroSknim1234 Well, I don't doubt it being painful, but it may be traumatic too. He's taking over the bodies of those characters in a sense, inheriting aspects of them. As for who they are, those are the characters who become the masks. The Scrub is presumably the Deku Butlers son, Darmani is the ghost you sooth on Snowpeak, and Mikau is the Zora you pull onto the beach. Anyways, I just wanted to give my insight, not argue. :3
