Aston martins are just jaguars with a different badge and they lose value like them too. Plus if you want an aston martin vantage just go buy a jaguar xk, same engine and car, different name, cheaper to own and better ride. Astons really just are a waste unless you spend the big bucks and get db9 or equivalent, then the cadillac would not compete, but of course you would spend over 200k for the DB9. An XLR has a ride and decent looks, i would not want an aston, as it is just a jaguar.

I wish all the reviewers would just say the XLR sucks and is terrible so that it depreciates a bunch and I can buy one. I mean, I know the leather might not be quite as soft and maybe the paint isn't quite as shiny as the competing Aston Martin or whatever, but DAAAAAAAAAAAAYUM that's a nice looking car :)

a c5 corvette will shit on it and a c6 forget about it. Cadillac XLR v has a top speed of 155 c5 vet can get to 180 c6 to 196 how can they compare them ? they have the same suspension but the vet stills handle 100 times better. look at that under stere at 2.22 around the turn. i had a 2001 c5 and well i never drove a car more fun. ya there is better but to compare a vet to that is like apples and oranges

XLR-V is electronically limited to just 155. As for the 0-60 times, C5 hardtop = 4.8 sec, XLR-V = 4.9 sec.

@mattbmx1234 The tests made are as unreliable as your statement (not very much), I mean... there was just 2 tests, both of them were neck to neck, and cts-v has 50 more horsepower... not to mention, that the guy who tested it, probably forgot to turn on the "m" button, in either waay, the guy doesnt look too reliable, in a way: know nothing about cars, or sports cars; the only reliable tests are made in top gear!!; remember that; at least their cars are driven by pro racing drivers

Here's the deal......if they made is equal to the europe competition, it would cost 150,000. Labor is expensive here..so are parts. Now that all the big lost ( with the exception of ford ironicly) are still loosing ,money, they are taking chances on building better quality. We actually got pretty decent cars for what we paid for...and thats the key.

2-3 cars doesn't show that you can build a car. Although ZR-1 and CTS-V are excellent mashines, there are some faults aswell. ZR-1 is great performer, but the interior quality can't justify 6 figure price. 90% of the time you'll drive it normaly on the road, and that issue is much more pronounced rather than just a blast on a track. Aside CTS and ZR (and Camaro/Mustang/Challenger) and Viper, the ordinary cars (over 95% buy) are just weak in compare to Japs and Euros. This is the fact.

I just came from reading reviews of some of the new Chevrolet vehicles and some of them are the best in their class also the ZR1 is the pride of America because it delivers European sports car performance for around 3 times less money (European sports cars cost more because theyre superfluous filled with leather and other features not everyone cares about)

I've been in love with this thing since I first watched them being built right here in America (in Bowling Green, KY) and I wouldn't trade mine for the world. It's got every feature I would ever need and more, complete comfort, a kick-ass drop top, and an even more kick-ass engine. And as much as I hate that they're not making them anymore, my XLR-V is now even more of a collector car.

an overheating issue with a car thats 6figures? i love the design and style, but please...give me some slack, for that amount of money, no car should ever overheat. And as for the Euro class, yes, caddy is moving up...but with 6 figures going towards lets say a Benz/Porsche/Audi, overheating isnt even a thought. Work some of the kinks out like a more responsive tranny, eliminate the overheating and you have a solid vehicle.

Kinda... The XLR-V's Mercedes competitor, the SL600, is more expensive, but then again it's also more powerful and very slightly faster than the XLR-V. They're both excellent cars for reasonable prices. I don't love the CL-class, though. It's the non-convertible slightly more expensive version of the SL. Would you rather pay $2 for two cookies, or $3 for one?
