Urdu is not the language of the Muslims or Pakistanis. It was once a common Indian language (adopted briefly by Bollywood) till it got cleansed of its Persian origins and scripts to become Hindi by linguistic chauvinists. We fought and lost a civil war over this language with our fellow Bengali Muslims. Urdu is dead. We Pakistanis are Punjabis, Baluchis, Pathans and Sindhis. Most of us are bi-lingual and can speak either a neighboring language or Saraiki which is a link language

Actually Advani is very much our own. He is a Sindhi, graduated from University of Karachi, travelled to India on a Pakistani passport in 1957 and to date he has never renounced his Pakistani citizenship. His house in Karachi is still under his name looked after by a Hindu tenant who pays his taxes and his bills. I had to go call my Sikh friend to know what "vastrapharan" means. Gandhi is famous for his Brahmachari experiments where being without vastra with nubile females was test his restraint. I believe in India Nathuram Godse is more famous and is a more popular role model amongst the youngsters. In 2007 in India, an internet poll (Rediff) to vote for famous Indians put R.K. Hedgewar ahead of Gandhi.

Urdu is not the language of the Muslims or Pakistanis. It was once a common Indian language (adopted briefly by Bollywood) till it got cleansed of its Persian origins and scripts to become Hindi by linguistic chauvinists. We fought and lost a civil war over this language with our fellow Bengali Muslims. Urdu is dead. We Pakistanis are Punjabis, Baluchis, Pathans and Sindhis. Most of us are bi-lingual and can speak either a neighboring language or Saraiki which is a link language

Actually Advani is very much our own. He is a Sindhi, graduated from University of Karachi, travelled to India on a Pakistani passport in 1957 and to date he has never renounced his Pakistani citizenship. His house in Karachi is still under his name looked after by a Hindu tenant who pays his taxes and his bills. If he wants to retire here he is welcome, Of course he will have to give up his habit of demolishing old mosques, but guess he does that only in India.

We do not care about Urdu. Our erst while Bengali Muslim compatriates cared even less. Our lingua franca is Saraiki ( a mix of Punjabi and Sindhi with a strong Sanskrit base ). We speak Darri, Baluchi, Pashto, Sheena but Saraiki is our link language. Only some Pakistanis of Indian origin ( we will NOT call them Muhajirs) speak Urdu. We have a thriving Gujarati and Malayalam ( Malabari) speaking population in Karachi.

For your information I forgot to mention Major Arjun Dutta who was granted the Tamgha-e-Jurrat ( your equivalent of the Kirti Chakra ) for his valoor in the war of 1965. Dutta later returned to his native Bangladesh to fight for the Mukti Bahini. He remained staunchly patriotic to his Muslim majority nation and helped re-organize the Bangladeshi Army. He is the only Hindu General in recent history to command a Muslim Corps. He later founded the Hindu League for Bangladeshi Hindus.

If you are not familiar with historical detals and facts, dont write rubbish on Youtube. If your Gandhi and Nehru had not repudiated the Lucknow Pact under which the rights of minorities were guanteed, then Jinnah would not have pushed for Pakistan. These narrow minded Hindu leaders felt threatened and abrrogated the aforesaid Pact negotiated with Moti Lal, Gokhle etc. Jinnah always played Pakistan card to safeguard Muslim rights in a united India. Stop living in the past. All these people are proud Indians and so are the unnamed people you mentioned as well. When will paki**anis worry about their own country and stop sweating over Indian Muslims. That is the beauty of India, its a secular democracy where anyone can excel to anything. I agree they are proud Indians and we cannot live in the past. We are not sweating over Indian Muslims in India. They should not have been ANY Muslims in India. We ARE worried about our country and we desperately need a dilution of the fundamentalist, tribal and extremist tendencies. In the past the Indian immigrants with their talents, education, and their diverse and tolerant backgrounds had played a pivotal role in Pakistani stability. Cutting off Indian immigration was disastrous.

For your information I am not posting divisive messages. Read all my posts. India's secular environment even though under tremendous strain from communal forces is still largely intact. I deplore the VHP/RSS as much as I deplore the Taliban and so-called "Islamic" terrorists. I also deplore the partition of India, which has hurt Indian Muslims the most. However now that Pakistan exists it must be accepted with goodwill. Indian Muslims must decide their future with best of luck.

I agree 100%. Partition WAS the worst thing we have done. If by a miracle foreign interference, and the Cold War legacy can be eliminated, we Pakistanis would like to live in peace and harmony. The great people of this subcontinent deserve a better future. As proud heirs to the legacy of Ashok, Chandragupta , Akbar, and Firuz , we need to take our rightful place in the region when the Hindustan dominated from Iraq to Cambodia. Don't condemn us yet ! There is still hope.

If given a choice between being dishonored and then killed ( like in Gujarat) and a comfortable Karachi home I am sure Shabana would opt for the latter (Bharat Ratnas not-with-standing). The technical manpower we got from India ( our Bhopal born nuclear scientist is one such) helped us tremendously. We too are happy we got divided. Our only regret is those we left behind. We could do with a Gujarati speaking cricketer, a Tamil speaking missile scientist, a Telugu speaking tennis star.

Prior to Partition instead of focusing on economic and political issues there were meaningless issues like beef, "music before a mosque", Vandemataram etc. which were threatened to be resolved after independence by "democratic majority". In fact they weren't but the threat caused a deep sense of insecurity about India's character, hence Partition. It was colonial Britian's master stroke and parting shot. The Muslims fell for it. !

I include lunatics like Gandhi and Nehru for the creation of Pakistan as well as Jinnah. By insisting on democracy by 'majority' the rule of consensus was ignored. The Pathan in the NWFP was unlikely to change his dietary habits simply because a parliament by majority in Delhi would adopt a constitution banning beef. He would not be singing Vandemataram either. So Jinnah demanded Partition and Nehru and Gandhi agreed to keep India "Hindu" rather than secular. Your RSS couldn't be happier.

In 1947 your Ambedkar persuaded the Jamait-e-Ulema clerics to rescind their fatwa to Muslims to leave India. If the cretin mullahs in India had any sense they would revive that call. I have a couple of frnds and personally they would be preferred to be known Indian than any other country citizen. ur statement that they r not wanted here is baseless. just becoz some incidents happened against them does not prove anything. Everyone has suffered not only muslims, even hindus in kashmir and in gujat, christians in orissa. Everyone has its not specific to muslims, its a human prob. They r as indian as anyone else.
