I kinda started playing sniper with the rifle, because of your videos. My aim simply sucks, I hit some heads, but mostly air. But I usually use distraction and mobility to annoy the enemy group. So I enjoy having a giant beacon flying across the map... making it look like more than just one sniper. Sometimes not just one, but 3 or 6 people run after me, making it an easy route for my allies.

...and I can train my shots and not trying to no scope anything.

The machina is good for training wheels. I experienced a HUGE increase in skill by playing with the machina for a bit before going back to the old rifle. I had a bad habit of prefiring and then moving the dot to the head, but the machina helped tone that down for me a great deal. Also for some pubs the huge laser line is much more intimidating as long as you hit often enough. They'll cower behind walls and such afraid of the railgun.

I hate the Machina for a completely different reason, which is the fact that when fully charged, it's more capable of one-shotting with bodyshots than the other rifles. I fucking hate just strolling around as a Pyro with near-full health all carefree when suddenly a stray Machina bullet nicks me in the pinky toe and kills me. I don't see the tracers as a big enough downside for that horseshit myself, especially since the bullets can pass through targets.

I know that i am not going to get every shot, but i still get a lot. Instaed of tryinh to hit heads, i try to hit the body and as clse as possible to the head. Maybe its a headdhoz, maybe not, but damage is still done. The machina is bad because it sort off tells everyone: "Hey look i am here please kill me and my fellow snipers!" If I know someone close uses the machina, I change my location at an instant.

I totally agree with ur opinion on Machina I am really happy that someone having the thought as myself

reasons:

1. For most people in pub, spotting snipers from far away is not easy. But once ur tracer is shown, those straight walking easy kills become madness of strafe jumping

2.No scoping is important against spies and doing the killing blow, especially for those who is not equipping smg

3.If I ever get a full charge shot, I can hurt enemies, if not murdering them. The damage ^ is lame imo

The Machina is better depending on the situation. e.g. Heavy has a pocket Medic and the Medic is using the Heavies obesity as cover. The Machina would be perfect in that situation. In order to use the Machina at its full potential, you have to be very patient not only to get a fully charged shot but to allow people to line up and get multiple birds with 1 stone.

This is just my opinion :)

Why I like Machina

1. The tracer acts as a cosequence for missing. If you miss, your prey will see the bullet and run away.

2. The gun looks badass.

3.Collaterals make me JIZZ IN MY PANTS!

4.In Meet The Sniper, sniper says "Be Efficient", and Machina improves efficieny, like i said in 1

I think that the machina has a huge downside.

The machina is bad against Pyros and Scouts and anything which can move fast and overkill against engineers and Medics and the things which would die by the sniper rifle anyway.

When the Machina is fully charged the bullet would do 512 I believe with a headshot. But with the regular Sniper Rifle you can do exactly 450 with a fully charged bullet. Which would kill a Fully Overhealed Heavy. So really the Machina is unnessacary with a good aimer.

15% extra damage when fully charged and can piece enemies. It doesn't benefit headshots in any way and piercing enemies does not happen that often, you get that for not being able to quick fire for 50 damage, and your position is instantly compromised because of the beam and you will be targeted. No one likes playing against snipers, if they know where you are, you're doubly screwed. It's really not that great...

I don't see why people consider the Sydney Sleeper as a noob weapon, you don't get headshots, and most of the time if you try to stay scoped too long, you get killed. In my opinion normal sniper rifle is also better than the sydney sleeper too, not just the machina.

Yeah, I agree with you. I have found absolutely no upside to the machina, and you can't noscope with it and the tracer rounds, so I see no reason to use it.
