  • watch?v=EqsSrWZciY0

Puts this video to shame. Times a hundred.

  • More plausible explanation is he was already directing his unit up there because he saw the vult lay the mine. Derp derp. This video is stupid.

  • Holy fuck! This is insane!

  • bye XellOs, you will be missed.

  • What the fuckkkkk! I didn't even see what happened till the second slowed clip...

  • lol 0:32

  • glitch or distance or 2 vultures control to destroy that mine (if you look closely, those vultures attacked mine, not the DT)

  • i tot my hd failure with that loud USB remove sound lol

  • And so begins the journey to find stephank's comment...

  • If you look really close at the slowest speed you see that it didn't hit directly the mine. It could be some glitch but the projectile from vulture travels at same speed as the mine (at 1:06) and the mine was destroyed without beeing shot at its place. AT 1:07 mine explodes but the grenade is still significantly behind to lower left side.

  • Holy crap. I didn't realize what it was until i read a couple comments. Damn! To be able to catch a spidermine mid-crawl...

  • What happened?

  • At first I was thinking, well I didn't see anything happen. The Dark templar died. So what?

( I thought the dark templar attacked the mine without it exploding )... after all those playbacks, I realized what happened

  • @0:47 laaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggg!!!!

  • probably was already going for the mine anyway before he noticed the dt dragging it.

  • @TomValedro naw, if you do look carefully the attack command was given the moment it uprooted

  • Holyyy crap, I understood the video, when it was slowed down to "Even Slower".

  • It doesnt mean that was a fast reaction...he could have clicked on the mine before it got out of the ground, since he sees his own mines when they are burried

  • tasteless :D

  • lan = no lag ;P

  • ? wasnt reaction time, was luck that the scv was just there

  • @GraniteAge he ordered the vulture to kill the mine so that it doesnt explode his scvs

  • @Louis43thebeastmast holy fuck, now I got it. Thanks

  • mighty impressive, had to see it in slow motion to understand what happend

  • amazing, good ol' xellos

  • Tastless turned into jabba the hut!

  • He shot the mine when it still was in its burried location...stop att 28 seconds u might see it if you look att the right vulture and his ammo (whatever vultures are shooting).

  • Doesn't necessarily have to be about reaction-time, he most likely saw what was going on, and then he JUST moved the vultures right up there as the mine was lifted, by chance that is, and not by reflexes.

  • Finally, american starcraft announcers

  • @nbakings7 check gomtv.net, only americans announcers there.

  • @nbakings7 That's Tasteless, Day[9]'s brother, his full time job is casting.

  • and this is why tasteless sucks. hes a so called 'professional' yet he doesn't point out cool micro like this. I doubt he even notices, he's probably too busy plugging his shirt website and talking about how he ran out of water.

  • @attackfighter That seems like some quiet abritrary reasoning; I do not think that most people will get that, especially when they're bent on commentating rather than observing the actual game. Do you think any commentator would've gotten, or really thought of that right off the bat? The answer is a rhetorical: No.

  • @attackfighter

    absolutely disagree with you

  • me: i saw it without the slowdown and replay. Pretty nice micro right there.

  • have u concidered that xellos ordered the vultures to kill the mines BEFORE tempest tried to drag em with the dt? Or just coinsidently the both things happened at the same time and xellos wasnt really reacting to anything, which is the more propable explanation.

  • that wasnt inhuman reaction time.. he seen that the dt was going to trigger the mine which is why he did it.. he attacked it before it was triggered..

  • if it was wc3:TFT, the bullet would've followed the mine, but this is '98 SC fgs.

  • @kisochi vulture's attack sprite doesnt follows the target, other attack sprites do follow

  • thats a real pro player!!!

  • LOL is he really a human and non-computer? such amazing..

  • Holy Shit!

  • wow...

  • Wow, only one person noticed it's spelled RIDICULOUS

  • Important to note that the commentators don't even realize what he did or don't care.

  • Who ended up winning?

I bet Tempest (Protoss) still won the game. He had 3 expansions going. Thats why we didn't see the end of the video. Xellos is only good with the mouse :p.

  • what beast accuracy

  • he attacked his own mine so it wouldn't explode and destroy his scvs. So he prevented the mine drag by killing the mine before it exploded

  • wat reaction are u tal;king about

  • He's gonna get that mine in there.

  • @OnlyKurial

Heeeeeee's gonnnnnnnaaaaa geeeeeeet thaat miiiiiine iiiiiin theeeeeere...

I swear, the second best part after the mine-snipe is the slowed down announcer.

  • Lol, not to downplay what is one of the most epic things, but he did have some fore-warning. The exact thing had just almost happened, and he was probably thinking about killing the mine anyway. When he saw the blur move toward the mine he probably decided to do it. Damn impressive timing though!

  • Xellos is such a baller i pretty much missed his reign

  • Tasteless sounds better in slow motion

  • the frags shoot out before the mine even moves. the vulture has to turn around to shoot, so chances are after the first DT failed to minedrag, he expected him to try again with the second DT and was already planning to kill the mine as the second DT was walking over. the mine died well after it popped and started to move, but he probably told the vultures to attack the mine, THEN the mine popped. but its def not as the mine was moving because the frags go to where the mine was BEFORE they moved

  • @Da1337ed yea i see it now, so it wasnt actually aimed at the dt, the vultures aimed the mines first then dt afterwards right?

  • lol command was given before mines pop up relax guys

  • no he didnt

  • Is not just his reaction time but also his accuracy on A the mine

  • lololol at the commentator on slow motion.

  • jajajajaja XD

  • Actually even just 1 scv can give the other player a big advantage.. Not to mention the DT's had already managed to destroy a few of them + buildings

  • It would've killed like 6, and even 3 or 4 is a big deal.

  • Comment removed

  • Were you talking to me or Shokoboy, cause you replied to me :[. I said it is a big deal.

  • Whoops i read ur comment wrong X_X

  • shows how little you know then. :P

  • actually yeah.. im decent at lows, pro at UMS and gosu in fastest.. aka noob

  • UR GOSU FASTEST LOL PRO.

  • his move control caused the templar to cut a corner at the minerals, he meant to move into the scv's

  • Holy shit dude that's amazing. I would never have caught that.

  • amazing

  • It's not as amazing as it looks, since it was his own mine, he can target it from while it's still sitting in the ground. Vultures don't even react that fast if they're doing something else. Relax.

  • I agree, pushing i then a real fast in a half a second is ez.

  • So big in your mouth, yet you're not the one pulling it off and being a progamer in starcraft.

  • Korean pros do a lot of crazy things. I am really impressed by Koreans' passion towards this game. I mean I am Chinese and my people, along with players from many other places, do well on this game too, but it's the Koreans who push this game to higher and higher levels. Have to raise the hat to these people who are so talented and put so much effort in Starcraft.

  • Xellos definitely predicted that tempest would try and drag the mine into the scv line and was prepared to take it out - there really is no better explanation

  • everyone forgets tree miss ratio 25% (stand above tree in shadow, 25% miss vs missile)

  • if im not wrong it should be 30%?

  • ridiculous*

  • The most likely explanation is that Xellos sniped the mine when it was still in the ground. The delay between the command and the the actual hit allowed for it to look like he attacked it after it started moving.

  • no he targeted it after the mine came up

  • Hey stephank when you attack and destroy a spider mine they explode as if they were detonated...if you played starcraft maybe you would know that...

  • it doesnt do any damage though

  • Starcraft is a precision game. There's absolutely no missing, except scarabs and high ground. The animation may look like a miss but the damage goes through, every time.

This highlight shows Xello's almost instantaneous reaction time and pinpoint accuracy. Though with the first DT already attempting a mine drag and detection available anyways, Xellos may have simply targeted the mine before he even saw the DT move.

  • Forget that, I watched it again. He clearly targets it after the mine had popped up. My mind has been blown.

  • Lol mines dont end up being duds. You don't follow where the grenade launcher bullet is going to hit, you just see it lock on.

It's just the way starcraft was designed. The vulture did indeed kill the spider mine, saving who knows how many scvs

  • ...Have you ever played Starcraft before?

  • There's an SCV RIGHT NEXT to the mine explosion. If it had just exploded, then it would have killed the SCV. Mines don't fucking explode from being next to minerals. What the hell are you talking about?

  • I looked you up on Battlenet. You have over 400 more losses than wins. Very impressive.

  • Try and learn to actually spell correctly before you act "intelligent"

  • @stephank Well if you're going to tell people to be smart, spell "intelligent" right "smart ass" rofl.

  • dude mines don't missfire. if a mine does not reach its target or something else kills it's target first it simply goes back into the ground. it didn't blow up on the mineral patch at all. reaver shots path finding however messes up sometimes when an scv manages get a head start fast enough. but mines either always drag or they go back into the ground, period.

  • Did you ever played starcraft? Unit cant miss unless they are shooting at high ground (or dead scarabs).

  • They just cant miss on flat ground, unless the other unit is completly hidden behind a tree.

  • I love you stephank.

Helps prove my theory about Youtubers.

olawd actin' tuff on teh interwebz.

  • omfg stephank...what the fuck...i think u ever played starcraft so stop acting like u know everything.

  • Wow stephank lol... If the vultures missed, then what did it hit? Exactly. You are the true noob. Don't go around thinking that you are so pro saying,"you guys are stupid." The vulture did hit the spidermine. Yes it doesn't seem like it did but there is no way that those scvs can survive a direct hit with a spidermine. People! put a thumbs up if you think this is right.

  • Yeah, Blizzard should probably fix the attack-landing animation.

  • @NoobsGetOwned4Life i put a thumbs down because you asked for a thumbs up

  • @NoobsGetOwned4Life what about zerglin then? I saw a zerglin survive a mine in one vid no shit!

  • @LucaTurilli89 No youre dumb.

  • @Fdragon you are dumb I swear I saw one in a clip I can send it if somebody reply to my comment there!

  • @NoobsGetOwned4Life shit dont miss in sc1 except if there's trees or ramps lol

  • @GGRSC there is actually a very small chance that a projectile will randomly miss built into the SC1 engine.

  • @maegnis confirmed, i've seen even anti-air attack missing air units

  • @NoobsGetOwned4Life I've seen multiple times a zergling being hit by a mine and survive... Nobody explained this to me yet :(.

  • lmao, this is pwnage

  • 1337

  • I think he knew ahead of time that dt was going in that's why he shot it down before. there was another unit that had done the same thing so he was aware of it. that's why he shot it down when the dt started to move in that direction.

  • Awesome micro =]

And the toss players ID is Tempest, not Fantasy!

  • If I didn't know xellos, I would say it was impossible.

  • That's amazing.
