Poor baby, with a rough start like that. I'm so glad you have a good home now! My amazon shakes things like thet too ... and BANG BANG BANGs them against his cage! lol so silly. :)
How cute he is! I have adopted several parrots and after a few months they were all much better. One of my parrots was said to be too loud and he is my quietest little guy, one was called physco but after only 3 mos is so much better, not physco but scared after being abused.
I've never seen, in 30 years, a parrot quite play like that--very dexterous! And if any parrot is going to do this--it's going to be an Amazon! It's great to watch...!
Thank you for your concern, puffy61292. the chain has already been removed long time ago. :) I adopted Bodhi from his previous owner whereby he lived his life chained to to a stand due to his Amazon aggression. He's much more manageable now.
Unfortunately, chaining parrots has been a practice used for a long time and there are many people who would not blink an eye if they see a chained parrot. There is much to be done to educate people of the proper care of these intelligent creatures.
Sorry, I know this is a very old video, but still great! How did you teach him to do that?

He looks like he's having so much fun with it! And that is interesting (and sad) about chaining parrots; I didn't know that.
