I loved riding the ferry the other day. My favorite part was watching the dolphins and sea gulls and pelicans!

Crystal beach is great. I found lightning whelk shells!

Stayed at crystal beach last year..

had alot of fun.. one of the best places i've ever visited.. we stayed at the house called "Camelot".. it was just such a blast..it's sad that it's gone now.

it is so different now that we are slabbers...breaks our hearts...so much loss...we are still missing neighbors & friends...and, our home...we moved there in 2001 - our son rode the schoolbus on the schoolbus (the yellow ferry) to get to Ball HS...

Thank you for the memories. We have a beach house on Port Bolivar near the North Jetty and as we can tell it is still there. We are praying for all the victims down there. GOD BLESS BOLIVAR!

Awesome job on this slideshow! I grew up in the 70's & 80s's+ going to Crystal Beach. My uncle probably lost his home on Emerald Beach due to Ike. :( My prayers are with all the victims of Ike.

This song speaks to me! Our son was born on a Bolivar ferry in 1987. (didn't quite make UTMB)We lived in Crystal Beach at the time. We're so sad to see the horrible destruction from Ike. Our prayers go out to those still trapped and those who have family they can't get in contact with.
