I played an MMorpg on my pc right and with direct x 8 it looked like prime 2 textures. with direct x 9 in options i could turn on relfections while nothing else rlly changed and it looked like 3.
No vindictus doesn't look like metroid but it was a close enough comparison to show what I noticed.
The first Metroid Prime was awesome. It only subtly added storyline though. While Metroid Prime 2 added a lot to the storyline but (to me at least) it was the least fun (basically I just wanted to finish it so I never had to play it again) Metroid Prime 3 combines both of the styles to make it an overall fantastic game. Keep it up Nintendo!
I honestly could care less if Metroid looked like the Wii and Cube versions for the next 10 years. Prime was mind blowing, Prime 2 was absolutely amazing, and Prime 3 is looking to be great too (haven't finished it yet). Prime 3 added the Wii's control and slightly enhanced visuals which was fantastic. It was a stunning looking game even on Cube already. Metroid is greatness, no matter what resolution it runs in. I'm sure Other M will continue the proud legacy of Metroid.
@OldsXCool metroid was around before the prime trilogy metroid and there were some other ones, "Metroid the other m" is a sequel to super metroid so its probably going to be like the old ones in a 3d way buts its still really cool
i think metroid prime had the best graphics because it was smooth and had good lighting.... they changed the graphics scheme with mp2 and mp3.on mp1 they couldve done better with the minor texture...
i always thought that they should have used the c-stick on the game cube version so it controlled more like halo. i haven't beaten the first to game till last week LITERALLY an to tell you the truth ive had them scince 2nd grade! i got the trillogy game the next day and beat them all in 3 days.
metroid prime 3 combines perfect graphics with perfect gameplay (and i love the controls =]) , its the best mp ever (my opinion), i love it, i rlly love it, best metroid game ever made...the next metroid game will be metroid: other m (for wii)...i'll buy it...can it top mp 3? i'll be execited...
@ExtremeHardcoreGamer it will top mp look how good it is its more interactive and looks like it has a good amount of explorinng and puzzle. power suit model may not be as good as mp (thats why they say the graphics suck) but ithe graphics are way better it looks like it has the hd feeling,smooth, and good lighting/shading and really good texture
I can agree that graphics are not the most important part of a game but really most of the game developers that have been making wii games have been making them with bad graphics even though the wii is capable of great graphics.
graphics mean crap, it's all about gameplay. while MP3 is a more cinematic, action-packed, and quickly-paced game (and it's my favorite for those reasons), MP2 is a WAY BETTER metroid game. metroid is all about hardcore exploration, puzzle-solving, and challenge, and in those aspects, MP3 is extremely weak compared to MP2. however, as hardcore MP2 is, i personally think MP1 was the best. the dark world in MP2 looked drab, and felt claustrophobic, which is wrong for a beautiful, wide-open game.

Games don't necessarily need shaders to look good. If they have good enough overall design, even weaker systems can make stuff look awesome. It's just a matter of how much thought and effort was put into it. :)
I suppose so. But please tell me, exactly how many times have we seen the very same shaders and effects over and over again over the past years, and how many times have we seen something truly original? The two just don't fit together. Putting shaders and all kinds of visual bullshit in a game takes up all the time and effort, and the game will just look generic. And let's be honest. Just how many times do you stop and look at the graphics, while playing a racing game, or a fast paced shooter?
racing-very rarely... if im bored. shooters-more often than you would think. i just think it would be nice if the threw in some enviroment mapping and bump mapping.

Well my first comment I made was a month ago but I mean, I DO have MP3:C and I think the controls are better than the first (omg no way). I also think that there is more you can do with the gameplay but I am little pissed off at not being able to change back to my Power Beam. (Or can you? I dont know how D:)
Yea some enemies are out of place but I just find it more enjoyable than Echoes. Prime 1 is my fav.
when you see them both in motion on the same tv, it is obvious that metroid prime 3 is much much better. The lighting is a lot better, especially in the later levels, which does a lot more than any high res textures would. This comparison only includes some of the first few levels of prime 3 which doesnt do it justice.
i didnt like MP1 and 2 cause of the controls.. you couldnt move how you wanted u had to use a aim button for everything and it made the game to easy so i quited afther 10 mins into the game

@swedensebbbe Even though this is a year old, I still want to say that I disagree. I played the Prime Trilogy versions of those games first, and I felt that the controls were very fluid and natural.
When I tried out the Gamecube version of MP, I had trouble playing. The Trilogy version of Metroid Prime may be my favorite game of all time, but I have trouble even playing the Gamecube version. You can't move and look at the same time! I have no idea how anyone even played through those versions.
@Canama139 You had to play the GC version first :p some people like you were frustated with the controls and when the wii came out they knew they could fix this and make it more fluid like so they were like likes remake these games! And seeing from glitches and much needed fixes from the other games they made the trilogy pack instead of them all seperately with some graphical updates :] of course this is all speculation. The fixes in trilogy are small but noticiable if you look enough. :)
@Vleesball yeah, did u read the IGN's review for this game? They said something like "this fps controls are better than any other fps until now". I was like... I NEED to play this. And there it is: Amazing. Best fps since Half Life 2 and Perfect Dark.
prime2 has better graphics, who says otherwise is lying, prime 3 has blotchier textures and this blurry lighting which makes the game look a greeny yellow colour in places. however these graphical failings are not present in prime2.

completed prime2 five times and prime 3 twice so i'm qualified to comment. prime2 1s sharper and textures slightly superior. infact the best suit animation is in prime1 it looks so shiny and detailed.
i think people forget that the wii is more powerful than the first xbox its just that developers don't seem to take the time to develop for it, Take a look at the conduit that shows the wii's true potential
No offense, but the still image comparisons did 3 no justice, and weren't too well picked out. it's difficult to compare when you're comparing completely different scenes and creatures.
When looking at the two in this video you can barely see any difference but for anyone who has both games and has played through both then this is a no brainer.
Metroid Prime 3 on Wii has much more environment details than the GC ones. Furthermore the sprites are much(!) sharper. But it still doensn´t look good enough to be a worthy next gen game at all. Sadly!

it depends on your connection. like mine had lags because of crappy wireless internet, but I went over my friends house and played online with his connection, it was smooth.
I think that Metroid Prime 1 had the best graphics out of the trilogy. It seemed like in 2 and 3, the developers were a little lazy in creating the visuals and environments MP1 boasts.
Prime 2 was better graphics Than 3 in a way but they still have the same look 2 had a sharper more animated design & 3 is animated but with a less sharper design in everything to line it up better. I think 2 was better than one because it was harder to me but graphics don't always win a game because people think 1 was better than all But games I like are like 2 style animated dark like over all they are all great games.

Dont forget you get better options in metroid prime 3: piloting samus's ship from region to region. I like the lighting effects in M.P.3. Metroid prime 2 looks dull when you compare the lighting effects, and thats not just due to metroid prime 2's level disgin and color schem of purple an dark. But i wounder if the same lighting effects could have been produced on the GameCube MP2 as in the wii version of MP3???
why do people still think that the true comparison is using screenshots. One look at MP3 on a tv screen and you'll see the graphics so much better than MP2. Especially the final level

@Vleesball yeah, did u read the IGN's review for this game? They said something like "this fps controls are better than any other fps until now". I was like... I NEED to play this. And there it is: Amazing. Best fps since Half Life 2 and Perfect Dark.

prime2 has better graphics, who says otherwise is lying, prime 3 has blotchier textures and this blurry lighting which makes the game look a greeny yellow colour in places. however these graphical failings are not present in prime2.

completed prime2 five times and prime 3 twice so i'm qualified to comment. prime2 1s sharper and textures slightly superior. infact the best suit animation is in prime1 it looks so shiny and detailed.

i think people forget that the wii is more powerful than the first xbox its just that developers don't seem to take the time to develop for it, Take a look at the conduit that shows the wii's true potential

You dont see much difference between MP2 and MP3 but when you play it both, i have to say its a huge improvement in graphics between MP2 and MP3

Metroid Prime 3 on Wii has much more environment details than the GC ones. Furthermore the sprites are much(!) sharper. But it still doensn´t look good enough to be a worthy next gen game at all. Sadly!

I liked the atmosphere in metroid prime 2 alot more. Well, metroid prime 2 was alot better then metroid prime 3 anyway, but mp3 was still a good game.

it depends on your connection. like mine had lags because of crappy wireless internet, but I went over my friends house and played online with his connection, it was smooth.

I think that Metroid Prime 1 had the best graphics out of the trilogy. It seemed like in 2 and 3, the developers were a little lazy in creating the visuals and environments MP1 boasts.

Prime 2 was better graphics Than 3 in a way but they still have the same look 2 had a sharper more animated design & 3 is animated but with a less sharper design in everything to line it up better. I think 2 was better than one because it was harder to me but graphics don't always win a game because people think 1 was better than all But games I like are like 2 style animated dark like over all they are all great games.

Dont forget you get better options in metroid prime 3: piloting samus's ship from region to region. I like the lighting effects in M.P.3. Metroid prime 2 looks dull when you compare the lighting effects, and thats not just due to metroid prime 2's level disgin and color schem of purple an dark. But i wounder if the same lighting effects could have been produced on the GameCube MP2 as in the wii version of MP3???

why do people still think that the true comparison is using screenshots. One look at MP3 on a tv screen and you'll see the graphics so much better than MP2. Especially the final level

because those people are hypocrites and they are in denial. They dont seem to realize that even though wii has some of the best gameplay it also has some of the very worst. Gameplay with wii is a hit or miss, it either sucks and doesn't work or it works 90% of the time.

And Prime 3 was the best out of all the prime series in my opinion.
