@PastaAndPavarotti i agree. i respect that each artist has his or her own interpretation or styling of a song, but i think the cha cha beat, as you named it, really lacked the searing sense of longing, pain and regret that michel legrand's version so aptly captures and conveys.

J'ignorais que Barbra avait reçu la légion d'honneur, c'est un beau symbole, elle mérite toutes les légions d'honneur du monde. Some of Barbra's pictures are exotic looking such a unique voice. I like the voice of Steve Lawrence also. We need more crooners like them. Kudos to Michael Buble for singing this type of music.

I find it amazing that they never recorded or performed together, as far as I know.

They recorded for the same company.

Yet, Steve Lawrence always with Eydie as a team, yet he performed with Julie Andrews,

Carol Burnett, Mama Cass Elliott, many more.

He was considered for the role of Nicky Arnstein in FUNNY GIRL, but it never happened.

He´s great singing songs from Funny Girl, such

as PEOPLE and DONT RAIN ON MY PARADE.

Every single song is amazing and very difficult to sing! Is it because they have amazingly beautiful lyrics, complex melody or is it because they are art songs?

'I Will Wait For You' is the absolute last song I could imagine converted from a full-blown orchestration into swinging pop perfection, but do Steve & Don Costa ever pull it off! What an interpretation!
