Palmer package... like WCBS(New York) in late 1980s.
(Gaylord Avery v/oing)
Now... Jim Jensen... Carol Martin... Rock Rote's sports... and Mr. G with weather... this is Channel 2 News at 11:00... everything you need to know, because anything can happen in New York!
I met Brian Teigland at a radar training seminar in Huntsville AL at Baron Services. The guy was simply one of the funniest and happiest guys I have ever met. Loved him. I remember telling him he helped inspire me to become a TV meteorologist and was incredibly humbled. I was incredibly honored to even be in his presence. The guy was a class act.
Yes. Aint it sad? Channel 24 could do better, or at least get the CBS Enforcer package from Garicomm to upgrade. TV stations must realize that overall presentation matters.
@wifiaero Yet, Newport Television (owners of WPTY) invest more in Local 12 (HD)WKRC in Cincinnati. I don't think Memphis will ever be taken seriously as a competitive "mid-sized" local television market, for what reasons...?
@TV5Alive You hit the nail on the head. WKRC makes more money for Newport than any other station in the group. WPTY among other stations won't be going HD for a LONG while. It could even be after Newport sells off the stations in the next few years.
@TornadoWarning I am ready to see who the new female co-anchor will be with Cameron Harper on WPTY. I agree with you TornadoWarning, WPTY will not become HD anytime soon, especially with lagging ratings (hint: dropping the "Eyewitness News" branding).
sean you probably never received a good comment and still probably wont after you die scumbag and Brian WAS the greatest meterologist of ALL time and thats a FACT.!!
Marybeth has the BIG hair!!! and brian and jerry had a little more hair back then too! great footage. funny/sad how the news is always the same in that city.
Why is the greatest meteorologist ever in the Mid South? Just because he's dead?
I find it fascinating how people are shallow enough to elevate a person in death way beyond what they ever were in life. Apparently because it's politically correct or stylish to do so.
Well I don't.
Not to say that Mr Teigland was not good at what he did for a living, but dying doesn't by default earn you Citizen of the Year Awards. Grow up people.
I was just saying that Brian lived a great life in Memphis. He dedicated his life to inform the viewers to let them know when severe weather is at it's worst, he was at his best.
I just had a chance to read what you said and decided to look at your page to see more about you after a statement like that. Just like you, it is full of nothing. no go crawl back under your rock.
Well first of all, I wasn't even directing my comment to you. I was responding to TexasTV. So as my 3rd grade teacher used to say, MYOB.
Second, of course you didn't find anything respectful about me on my profile. After all, I'm still alive. In your book, a person has to die before they're entitled to any respect or appreciation. Right?
