I met tomoato at a art gallery way before I reherd the screamers again sciencee the 80s on mtv, That was sick when they were on MTV to bad their so obscure now days, I by a album if I could even find that shit now days. and tomato being dead now doesent help at all that just blows tomatos was so awsome even though he toatly sucked at painting I didnt have the heart to tell him. but I think someone brobly did and now hes dead fuck
@braincras I'm probably going to get shat on for saying this, but her delivery of spoken word lines kind of reminds me of Lydia Lunch's collaboration with No Trend.
you know i used to agree but she grew on me and i actually do like her belch at the end and she is actually kinda good live-very confident and you hardly see duets on stage whom are kinda acting at the same time. I like that
i dont know, i think she adds something theatrical and disconcerting to the song. at the least, i like how they switch back and forth between a first person and third person narrative. she's not on the recording i heard before, so as a one off performance thing, i think it works.
i got it from xeroid records, on vhs. it is a compilation of a bunch of their live footage. there is also a dvd floating around, this performance MIGHT be on it. i don't own the dvd, though - so i can't really say. xeroidrecords (dot) com.
The title "thru the flames" seems to me a reference to antonin artaud. Does anyone know the lyrics and if they bear this out? They are artysmartypants enough that they would be familiar with the man who invented the theatre of cruelty.(paris '20's)
I'm blown away. What an incredible show. It's sad that The Screamers weren't able to put out any real recordings, that video idea was ahead of its time.
I'm curious to see what look like a guy suggesting suicide to other people. Would you be interested to have a little, let's say, dicussion around a beer (a bear) or may be a glass of milk?
west coast had the GERMS, coast had the ramones, but even though they are the godfather's of punk, they actually are rather like a power-pop sound versus the incredible sounding GERMS, which can only be labeled as LA PUNX.
thx benwrecked. Check out my videos for some rare Weirdos live at the Masque. All this stuff is caught up in legal red tape and will probably never come out. Thank god for the internet.
They need to get "Vertigo" by the Screamers on youtube. It has the lead singer swinging his hand in front of his face while wearing yellow latex overalls that are way too big for him. Probably the coolest Screamers video I've ever seen.
THANK YOU FOR CLEARING THIS UP ALICE! seriously, i have this footage on vhs and there is no information on this woman AT ALL and i've been curious for YEARS about this. seriously, thank you.

Good performance and creative with both of them but her sound doesn't really go well with the song...
