Those were the days when public transit in Philadelphia ran in all kinds of weather. It was reliable and dependable back then. Now, at the first sign of a snowflake, SEPTA suspends operatons. When SEPTA sold all of their sweepers and snow fighting equipment, it was with the thinking that it would never snow again in Philly. What they seriously need are Diesel powered, modern sweepers to be located at Callowhill, Elmwood for the city lines and 69th Street/72nd Street for the suburban operations.
@ 2:20, was that 2168? If it was its now at the Baltimore Streetcar Museum, along with converted overhead wire Car 2187, and PTC Sweeper C-145 all alive and well!
I was in first and second grade back then. But I do remember the PTC PCC's. The 13 trolley used to go right by my grandmother's house in Kingsessing Avenue. She lived right at the corner of Kingsessing Avenue and Cemetery Lane, I always covered my ears every time it made that hard thumping sound when it went past the Mount Mariah loop on its way to Yeadon. It also made the house vibrate as well.
Do u no what septa did to the ex- Birmingham ex- Toronto transit pcc 's?

Is this a home movie, or is it on a commercial video? Nice footage.
