also thanks again for all the master huang's video. i thought i will never see him and his work because he has since pass on. he is my idol because i heard too much about him from my sifu and friends whom had been his students. wish i had taken tai chi early in my teens instead of ballet and ballroom dancing. i think i ll be a champion in this area too! ha! ha! my sifu says we must share skills, knowledge and not be selfish. must be an advice form master huang.
Mainly based on White Crane. "Nipaipo" (or more precisely, "Nipaipuo")does mean "28 steps" in Fuzhou dialect. I know because I can speak the dialect. Likewise, "Sepai" means "18", "Seisan" means "13", "Nisheishi" means "24", "Suparinpei" (or more precisely "Sopalinpei") means "108".
Great!! It's remarkable how history clarify through the years! As far as I know Master Huang Sheng Shyan studied from Xie Zhong Xiang (Ro Ro ku , master of Higaona sensei, as most historians think is the same person) and also from Cheng Man Ching, but I did not know he made up forms from the arts he studied. Thank so much for sharing this video documents
This is quite different from the Nipaipo kata I learned in my dojo (Shito-Ryu) ... I can see some similiarities but sven the embusen is different...perhaps it's the interpretation of Mater Kenwa Mabuni from Master Gokenki or Gokenki taugth another version.
wow this guy is really good! does he teach this set?

Best part of the video? The 80's style power-ballad--in Chinese. I wanna see the hair-band that put that together. Freaking classic!

Chinese version of Nepai Kata (Nipaipo o Urshibabu). This Kata came from White Crane Quanfa, in this system is called 28 steps (Nepai o Urshibabu)
