I think you are missing the point. The reality is that the Persians came after the tribes of Israel. The Pachtuns are a mix of several people and their language is of Persian extraction. The point here is that through the centuries, the Pachtuns were mixed and I am sure that some of them can trace their heritage through one of the lost tribes of Israel.

I am a living breathing Pashtun and I know our history from inside out. This is a just a myth without tail. There's no evidence to support that Pashtuns are Israelites - PERIOD. There was no Afghana son of Irmiya son of Saul. No bibilical sources or archeological evidence have any proof Pashtuns being semetic.
Pashtuns are through and through Aryans race intermingled with different nations through out their thousands of years history, due to invasions made on their lands by different empires.

actually, they might be related, maybe not all Pashtuns but many of them. Many Jewish historian wrote about exiled Jews who them settled in Present-day Afghanistan, Uzbekistan (Bukhara Jews). Their descendants though today are no longer Jews by faith.
One such Jewish historian is 'Yitzhak Ben-Zvi', the 2nd Prime Minister of Israel who wrote about it. But, I am not 100% convinced either.
Also, there's hardly a thing as Semitic blood, people are Semites by language.

Pashtuns don't only resemble the Israelis, i've seen Greeks, Italians and even Turks that looked like Pashtuns, so one cannot say that we only resemble the Israelis, or that we have Israeli ancestry, we may, but it is not proven as of yet.

Pashtun lives by code of Pashtoonwali: hospitality, honesty, uprightness, patriotism, love and devotion.
Pushtoonwali means:
1) Nanawatey or repentance over past hostility or inimical attitude and grant of asylum,
2) Teega or a truce declared by a Jirga to avoid bloodshed between two rival factions,
3) Badal or obligation to seek revenge by retaliation
4) Melmastiya or an open hearted hospitality
You cannot be a Pashtun if u insult ur guest.

Go to library and find some old history book about afghan.You will find that the word Afghan first appears in history in the Hudud-al-Alam in 982 CE. It was used by the Pashtuns and refers to a common legendary ancestor known as Afghana the son of King Saul - the firs king of Israel and the grand son of prophet Jacob. That is why we call our country Afghanistan.

The pashtuns are world's most consevative and traditonal Muslims. Let they be part of ten lost tribe. so what? and Pashtuns don't recognize the government of Israel, although we are not anti-semitic in any way. We support the liberation of Palestine as well.

OOps, I meant "shocked" IF they are part of the tirbes, would a sample of the population be interested in doing DNA testing? Or has it been done? It would be the definitve answer to whether or not Pachtuns are one of the 10 tribes. Then we can know sor certain.

Pashtun and Jews will be united soon. There are millions realizing who Pashtuns are and they know they are true Bani-Israel. God give the name of Israel to Jacob and we Pashtun are true children of Jacob and Abraham.

Regarding the Jewish ancestry, it's not that the entire 300+ Pashtun Tribes have Jewish ancestry, maybe a Tribe or two, the entire Pashtun population cannot be of Jewish origin.
