@NaiJorJul YOu will need to check out the laws in your state, but in Texas, where I live, it is treated just like a bicycle. I would also warn you that reliability is something of a problem.
Anyone that's bought an e-bike or planning to send me a PM with your email address & I'll email you a 2 page doc you can print out & carry with you in case you get a prick cop that stops you claiming they're illegal.
@gc1994 I work about a mile away from home, so I didn't need to drive it very far. That said, I did go out and drive it about 10 miles once, but it hardly made a dent in the battery charge.
@zforth Be careful going by the battery meter, it measures voltage & not charge!
Generally, when the meter starts getting towards the halfway mark you're running low on power & you better plug in somewhere before it dies out on you.
I am also in Austin. I recently bought an electric scooter myself, my toy. Maybe we can go riding together sometime. I know you have to be very careful riding these things or else you will be splattered. I have had many cars just pull out in front of me like I am not there. Be cool.
I own a XB-502 and I have no major problem with it yet.

@basenetTV
In Texas it is legal to ride a bicycle on the sidewalk, and this is classified as a bicycle.

No I have't been pulled over, but I know the police officers in my area. They ride motorcycles, and so do I.
