What's with all the fret buzz? Is the action too low? Some say this is the Django sound, but he played cleaner than that. Is the buzz caused because the Gypsy strings are so flexible? I could never get my Gitane to not buzz. Might go to a heavier gauge strings. The thick pick is the way to go though. I make mine from bone, and they work well.
this lead part reminds me of the first up and down sweep in steve vias pagnini style eugenes trick bag......................l.o.l i bet thats got some of you scratching you head saying w.t.f
note: by the time you pluck a string, your next finger should be on the next string (when you pluck from 7-10 on D - by the time you pluck the 10th fret, your finger should pretty much already be on the 9th fret on G
@imthefly nice scale but what can i do with it.what chords does it fit over,Aminor so i guess anything in key of A ? right? And can this scale be played all over the fretboard by changing the root note on e string?
@jasperwoods if you already play guitar it's like learning all over again. he doesn't mean this arpeggio, he means being able to play everything like this will take months
Yes You sir are a BADASS!! 5*s. Ive played for about 7 years now, and played mostly blues rock. But as much local attention as ive got over that style. I recently started playing a 2-5-1 with its relative aeolian scale notes to fill in. And Oh My God, im a brand new man, and now im jazz hungry and on the hunt. THANK YOU
it wierd, i dont know if its the guitar, or the pick, or a technique you use, but it seems to me that the notes dont ring out very long, and i like it! gives it a nice fade out sound
please make some more of these with chord progressions liuke in the begenning of the video. the strumming techniques are what hold alot of people back but greatly help your right hand technique
I just love that intro! I play guitar for 7 years now, and never did like the lead guitar part :) Always a fan of rythm :) pls is intro part any song particular, or just you are improvising? All the best, thx for great vid :)
@mau1794 It a very good copy of the guitar that Django used to play. I think that it's custom made because I tried to find it anywhere but nothing. As soon as a saw this guy plating it I fainted! :)
Django Reinhardt. Two fingered genius. With Stefan Grappeli it doesn't get any better. James Hetfield plays all downpicks, maybe he's got some gypsy metal in his soul!

@thegrandwazoooo Aminor, move the first note to wahtever and it'll fit over that (minor)chord

A double DOWN! That TOO technical. Django was great - for the 30s!
Now, we have Frank Gambale and Paul Gilbert.

is the rest stroke really doable?? i mean when going up the strings.
playing 3 strings up in a row.. it;s almost impossible at high speeds.
i'm trying to slow down some vids of rosenberg but they play so fast :)) that i can't see clearly.

My first guitar teacher ended up teaching me gypsy jazz. It was rather fun to play, but fairly difficult to play going right into guitar.

The chord progression in the beginning, sounds like most of the 1920's-early30's tunes i've heard. Movie tunes, and oold radio shows.
Is there a "blues".. link to this, later in history?
cheers from
