@KiNgJ916 Most instructions that come with the laminate will tell you to do so. It is recomended, but as you see in this vid it is more of a guideline than the absolute rule.
I an deaf and your caption is horrible and makes it hard for the deaf to fully understand the directions! Can you please re-spell all the mispelled words please?
Hello everyone. Tell me what if you have an old floorboard and crispy. I want to replace the floor of the grounds, I want to start from the concrete slabs. Would anyone have advice or a video like that do? thank you
Spacers are used so the floor can expand and contract without buckling. You prevent floors from getting damaged by liquid spills by cleaning the spills up immediately. Staggering makes the joints stronger. Nail machines are used on floors that are not floating floors.
Don't know why so many complainers out there...I've done this before and his instructions were right on. I am a woman and had no experience when I did it; laid the floor on the diagonal (to make things more complex). It's been down for around 7 years now, and floor still is great! BTW, used cheap Ikea flooring, too! Thanks...good video!
I bet this is a lot harder than it was presented here. Notice at the end how every other strip is lined up nicely. If I did it....chaos. And the part about the potential shrinkage, yikes.
@alextcu10 your Rh in a concrete subfloor must be below 75% otherwise you need a surface membrane, but going over concrete you still need a DPM, and also on ground floors with a wooden subfloor
hello, I am Brazilian, I work with wood floors and laminate to 9 years, and I say that this person in the video,is not a professional! I do not understand, why so many lies? lol lol lol
It's really not hard to pick up girls. You just need to educate yourself and luckily, there's some sick guides out there. "The Game" by Neil Strauss started things off for me and most recently, I've been using the techniques from P.Box.
Here's what you need to do:
Step 1: Go to MackMethods. com
Step 2: Get the "pandoras box" program
Step 3: Use the tips and blend it in with your own twist
Picking up girls is a skill. Educate yourself and you'll laugh at how easy it is.
joints should be randomly staggard and no board in a run of six rows should ever have matching joins, you should also start in your doorway makes life much easier always run the boards towards your main source of light. and remember unless a vat registered and trained professional flooring contractor (not builder, or joiner) lays the flooring you have no guarantee on the flooring underlay or with your insurance it will not be covered sorry. standard fitting pricing shoulg be £8sqmtr
@justinwbancroft check with BwFa british wood flooring assossiation or just read the instructions, it's not aesthetic it's for joint strength and to meet BS, and by the way i'm a certified master fitter
@Matfx7 why do you think he put down a moisture barrier? Will your "outside" steps be getting moist at any time? You may want to pass on this idea all together.
@Matfx7 no laminate flooring is only for indoor applications there are too many variables in weather humidity etc to go in to on here but don't do it it can be rather dangerous.
you can't lay on top of old floor coverings it nullifies your guarantee, on a concrete sub-floor you need to do a damp test prior to fitting if moisture levels are 5% or above a paintable dpm plus screeding is required also on ground floors wooden sub-floors should also be checked for moisture content dpm'd and screeded with latex screed. A dpm sheet should overlap by 20cm and also run up the walls by 5cm, after fitting flooring but prior to beading should be cut level with laminate
This guy is teaching you how to ruin your flooring, so he's company can come around and fix it for you then they will take your life savings away! This is advertising don't be foolish
ha ha u mention u need knee pads but fit the floor in a pair of shorts and also what a shambles u make of the video the extreams u intend to put people through when they are completely not needed .......i fit wooden floors and laughed true this hole video
I just finished. The floor took only 6 hours to install.I have concrete subfloor and used neopren foam instead of plastic as barrier. To level i used something that you pour on the floor, don't know in english ... autoleveling cement or something.
Interesting video, thanks for posting it. you guys might find this blog interesting, it has information about all kinds of bamboo news, from products like laptops phones, to interior design to architecture, material analysis, etc.
@tvampire757 Actually it's been down for 9 months now with office chairs rolling on it all day and it's still like new. No scratches or squeaks yet. I'm surprised because I used a different brand at home and my kids have managed to beat it up a bit.
Question with the transition piece you used from lam floor to carpet, on a cement sub floor how did you attach the transition? You had mentioned in the video not to attach to the floor as it expands and contacts. Thanks in advance.
@stic7 You can actually attach the molding to the floor, just not the flooring itself. Also, don't attach the molding to the floor. As long as the flooring can move the molding can be stationary. Usually the molding is glued to the floor directly or there is a plastic channel that gets screwed or glued to the floor and the molding then snaps into that plastic u-channel
@h4x0y it's important as the whole floor can actually expand and contract over time as temperature changes. If the floor were to be installed tight, with no gaps, as it expands with increasing temperature and humidity, the floor could actually buckle as it has no where to expand to.
im going to be laying laminate in my living room which has a curve at the base of the steps. this will be my first real home project, how do I properly measure and cut the boards?
Hey out there...I have a question. Is Tarkett laminate flooring from Menards (honey oak AC3) a good laminate floor? It was dirt cheap on sale and was told it's a ok middle of the road laminate floor. But someone told me about problems with Menards cheap flooring and said I should get Pergo. Is he right? I just need a nice (no problems) kitchen floor, not the nicest floor in the world. PLMK thanks.
@GlennShook Trust me mate, its more expensive than most, but Pergo gives you a quality finish, is easy to fit, has more positive locking giving a solid feel to it and its as tough as hell, I mean 'kid proof' tough!
@JDMSE3P You can rent this type of power undercut saw, but a Japanese Pull Saw is fairly inexpensive, is portable and gives you more control. It is a small, flexible saw that is made for this purpose. Just search for Japanese Pull Saw and you can learn more about it.
Hi, This is very interesting video to see and to use as my case study. But Please let me know that how to fix the lamination with floor without any glue and move due to place the furniture. Moisture barrier means is this plastic.. If yes how many "mm" is the thickness of the that moisture barrier. Thanks for your video.
@maxellton yes, the last piece would be cut to fit the remaining width and you would lose the grooved part. That won't be an issue as there is no "next" piece to lock it to.
That was awesome....im planning on buying a old house and putting new floors in myself..thanks for the video...i'll be looking at it alot once my offer gets accepted :)

Find a tape that has more resistance against water.
