The German cars look typical.. boring. The XF is the most striking, that colour doesn't suit it though, black looks great or light blue.
The ride is awesome too, really smooth, great for around town driving. Since it's auto, and no bullshit iDrive system, or manual box.. it's much easier to drive.
It's also faster than the Audi and I'll bet the others too.

First of all, the S6 most definetely DOES NOT smash the 550i to pieces. Second, the 4.2 is Audi's competition to the 550i; not the S6. The 3.0T is the rival to the 535i, and the 3.2L FSI is the rival to the 530i. The model comparisons go up in order and are perfectly fair.

Im not of any German ethnicity. And yes, i am a fan of German cars, because i like them more. Simple. There's really nothing anyone other car company can do to change that.
Oh, and although this new XF prooves a very worthy competitor to the 5-series and E-class, i dont Jaguar will EVER build an S-class matcher.

Why the hell VOLVO S60 AWD is not on "vs"? I personally hate BWM, AUDI, MERSEDES AND JAG because all these cars cost 2-4 times more than any Volvo and quality of the interior and exterior looks just as perfect. Besides why would you need 500hp engine if you have 55ml speed limit in New York and in most of other states and about the same speed limit in UK? Bimmers are nice looking and sporty, but they still have a lot of mechanical issues, they're a dime a dozen on the road and the idrive sucks. The Jag is upgrading to a 5.0L engine for 2010 and it's even faster.

I'm impressed with the new XF. I certainly did not see Jaguar coming out with anything worth owning, especially after the new company that owns it is named Tata. In the end however I think I would probably purchase the BMW before the Jaguar. I just prefer the look of the BMW. Also after test driving all the vehicles in the test (plus the Infiniti M45 and Lexus GS), I feel like the 550i is the true sports sedan.
I fully agree with this. I've driven the BMW 5 series, and the XF supercharged, and the XF is a lot better. I can't say anything for the Audi, or MB, but I know the XF is truly an amazing vehicle.
The test is fair and square and this place is simply full of biased mother fuckers(You know who u are)! XF is built from ground up and to attract younger ppl where the rest are family/executive cars with bigger engine shoved in it. BMW came close because its chasis enable sportiness. these 4 have been rivals for a long time now and in most tests Jag was always last,now they have finally done it and i gotta say it is a nice car,but if u buy these cars in real sports package like M,AMG and other i would go for M5,always a BMW fan,besides they have that "1st sports salon spirit" that they will carry always,no matter who makes a better one....BMW forever....respect for others....

I like this jaguar a lot. I am a bmw fun but this XF looks nice..except for the RESALE value..jaguars are bad with resale values. I'd take a 550i over the jaguar because it has a better resale value and had a stick trans. same thing as audi A6, the have bad resale value. you can get a 2005/6 A6 4.2 with less than 30000 miles for $25000..really bad. for those looking for a best buy, get a used A6 or Jaguar. Merc. is for old people and I hate their styling, i just never liked them

i wouldnt say its better then a BMW tranny...id say that if you just look at other videos your going to get some that pick the Jaguar because its more appealing cosmetically then a German sedan because of how the German tradition influences on the shape and design. But thats all the Jag has, upon ownership expect it to depreciate way more then BMW. Once again, BMW has the highest resale value next to honda. NO debate there.
According to edmunds in 2009, Jaguar XF is best luxury sedan over Mercedes E550, Audi A6, and BMW 550i.

Why the hell VOLVO S60 AWD is not on "vs"? I personally hate BWM, AUDI, MERSEDES AND JAG because all these cars cost 2-4 times more than any Volvo and quality of the interior and exterior looks just as perfect. Besides why would you need 500hp engine if you have 55ml speed limit in New York and in most of other states and about the same speed limit in UK? Those of you who can afford 500hp Jag is 60 and older and as far as I see it would never get all the advantages and delight of this car.

Bimmers are nice looking and sporty, but they still have a lot of mechanical issues, they're a dime a dozen on the road and the idrive sucks. The Jag is upgrading to a 5.0L engine for 2010 and it's even faster.

I'm impressed with the new XF. I certainly did not see Jaguar coming out with anything worth owning, especially after the new company that owns it is named Tata. In the end however I think I would probably purchase the BMW before the Jaguar. I just prefer the look of the BMW. Also after test driving all the vehicles in the test (plus the Infiniti M45 and Lexus GS), I feel like the 550i is the true sports sedan.

I fully agree with this. I've driven the BMW 5 series, and the XF supercharged, and the XF is a lot better. I can't say anything for the Audi, or MB, but I know the XF is truly an amazing vehicle.

Jag XF now has all new engines here in Europe! All V8 petrol engines are now 5.0L and the V6 models are the same!
There is also new supercharged V8, it has 5.0L and 510hp and is called XF-R
There also all new diesel powered options with top diesel V6 3.0L with 275hp and 600Nm!

The test is fair and square and this place is simply full of biased mother fuckers(You know who u are)! XF is built from ground up and to attract younger ppl where the rest are family/executive cars with bigger engine shoved in it. BMW came close because its chasis enable sportiness. If any of you think an Audi or merc can beat them with a smaller engine, longer wheelbase, please, go learn some motoring!

actually I agree with that, even when Top gear australia took a mick of the XF gear knob rising and vent turng being called "supirse and delight" feature, he said, 'in the old cars it was already a supirse and delight if it starts..."
still this is re-thought ground-up car, perhaps tata funded enough money shove the best engineering (and gimmicks)in it. so may be the germans are getting busy to nail this car, we will see!

well Merc has less hp and it is heavier than Jag but it`s still faster in drag!!! And BMW is better in slalom!!!
And to not mention that Jag is newer, cos new Merc is already out, and new BMW will be soon, same for Audi! So don`t think about winning too much!
And yes, Jag is more a compare to a Merc CLS, and it looses in every way against Mercedes :)

these 4 have been rivals for a long time now and in most tests Jag was always last,now they have finally done it and i gotta say it is a nice car,but if u buy these cars in real sports package like M,AMG and other i would go for M5,always a BMW fan,besides they have that "1st sports salon spirit" that they will carry always,no matter who makes a better one....BMW forever....respect for others....

I like this jaguar a lot. I am a bmw fun but this XF looks nice..except for the RESALE value..jaguars are bad with resale values. I'd take a 550i over the jaguar because it has a better resale value and had a stick trans. same thing as audi A6, the have bad resale value. you can get a 2005/6 A6 4.2 with less than 30000 miles for $25000..really bad. for those looking for a best buy, get a used A6 or Jaguar. Merc. is for old people and I hate their styling, i just never liked them

i wouldnt say its better then a BMW tranny...id say that if you just look at other videos your going to get some that pick the Jaguar because its more appealing cosmetically then a German sedan because of how the German tradition influences on the shape and design. But thats all the Jag has, upon ownership expect it to depreciate way more then BMW. Once again, BMW has the highest resale value next to honda. NO debate there.
