belt speed is the worst thing to have on in the first slot. Best thing is laser painter, then air radar, then stealth, then proximity scan, and then belt speed.
IMO the mini-guns are better for taking out other scouts. But the time you've locked on and given away your position you could have snuck up and used the mini-guns to wreak his ass. BTW laser with guided is boss and makes you a threat to tanks since it's one hit disable for ground and OHK for air targets

@Solidsidious You can go above the turrets max height, you can also use the ecm jammer to jam their lock and then kill 'em before they get the shot off and if worse comes to worst then you can hit the deck and hide behind obstacles thus breaking the line of sight, then you pop the ecm jammer and kill the tank/javelin team.
@nayjames123 Most tanks don't use smoke but if they do you can still hit them (because littlebirds have a laser painter) it just wont be as accurate at the last phase. So you need to keep hitting them using the cover. If they get out to repair then just saw 'em down and finish the tank! As for javelins just treat them as stingers with the ecm jammer - using the terrain to cover you until you can find them as they will be on some hill crest so they should stand out. Good luck on the battlefield!

@insaneguy1001 They just need to make it so that you cant steal a vehicle thats within your base territory unless someone has been inside it at least once.
I checked this video to see if other people were using the same tactics I was. When I saw this video all I could think was that you pretty much have these things figured out. If I may offer my two cents there are another few things that may help you and others (if you have not figured them out yet). Firstly you forgot to mention about when aiming the guns you need to use the big reticle instead of the smaller cross-hairs. It's one of those things that I'm sure a lot of newer people don't get.
@Tominator08 Regarding the guided missiles, they are very helpful on this map. A neat trick I like to do (as well as to the annoyance of the enemy, which gives me TREMENDOUS enjoyment) is to attach the laser painter on your scout chopper. With it you can lock onto the enemy chopper(s) with the guided missile and take the whole thing out in one shot that is completely unblock-able. As a side note, when they complain I just start flying circles around them and take them out with the guns.
@Tominator08 Lastly, a good recommendation, especially with this map, is to either take out the choppers as they spawn or steal them if you are playing with a friend. This is very helpful when you are playing as the Russians and takes all tactical advantage from the Americans. (It seems cheap but I like to troll here or there on the other team because its fun) Just take out the choppers, do a few runs across the field and then go back for them. Anyways, keep up the good work helping new people.

I think when he says "useless on Damavand Peak", he's referring to 'Conquest' (the game he's playing in the video) where the bulk of the action takes place inside the cave, and not 'Rush', where the map eventually expands. Sure, I've seen helicopters fly into the caves on occasion, but generally, even the most skilled pilots end up as tank fodder.
the other team had to be full of retards. Normally little birds cant stay in the open for more than 30 seconds without getting lasered and javelined or killed by a T-90 guided shell. Plus the other heli usually has laser painter+ guided shell. Did you make this the day the game came out?

Seems like easy mode on console as you are flying slowly around and no one is killing you :/. The extra precision you get when flying choppers with a keyboard and mouse really does notice. Can run rings round people with one vs a controller or even a joystick.

@IHAVEFUCKEDYOU ps3 and xbox can only take it on low settings and petty 30 fps at the smallest versions of the maps. Pay 300$ for a pc and go play battlefield 3.
@leviroxxs if you build it right, you can get a decent gaming pc at the same cost or cheaper than a console if you already have the peripherals (e.g. keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.) and its a good investment since you can use it for work, homework, entertainment, etc. just don't expect to max out all games with a budget build but you'll still have better graphics than consoles.
@leviroxxs my custom built (by me) pc. $800. common media center pc required to set up your internet connection for the xbox/ps3, about 400. xbox, 200 and up. honestly for one to fork out 200 dollars for something that runs bf3 at a solid 60 fps and allows me to do much more with my games is worth it to me. i understand though that not everyone can build their own pc. my pc on the market would run about 1,300. you can always have a friend build it with you to save money. you can play with --->

Thank you for the tutorial. I didnt know about those cranes will block lockons. I use ir flares, and stealth for perks and air to air missles as secondary weapon. If I have some1 repairing me then I am invincible.
I recently discovered that if you hijack the enemy heli and stay in its spawn, people still have the option to spawn on it. However, they will just spawn on the ground and be easy pickings for a decent pilot.
a little tip...use laser painter, ecm jammer, and guided missile because not only will you kill tanks faster with the missile but the laser painter will let you use the missile on helis too which cant be avoided with flares ;)
Good idea to have 2 engineers riding on the skids 2 repair the chopper, but also if the pilot just turns it to the side so the engies can use SMAWs Against heavy armor (Works well)
I also have to add- Lazer Designation+Guided Missle=Instant Death to any Scout Helicopter unless they have ECM Jammer. Which will get rid of your Heat-Seeker lock as well. I prefer Laze+Guided, because it's much easier to kill enemy scouts, but it does have a little bit longer of a lock-on. But hey- at the distances in which you lock on, it's worth it to ECM (or flare, if not high enough. Recommended though) once to break lock, but then insta-kill. No time for engineers to repair.

My tip for heat-seekers : Only fire 1 first, if the enemy heli uses flares you will have the second ready to go as soon as you lock on again.
Also use the citv station in the tank with the guided missle. to laser the heli even if the target uses flares you will kill it ..

the other team had to be full of retards. Normally little birds cant stay in the open for more than 30 seconds without getting lasered and javelined or killed by a T-90 guided shell. Plus the other heli usually has laser painter+ guided shell. Did you make this the day the game came out?

Seems like easy mode on console as you are flying slowly around and no one is killing you :/. The extra precision you get when flying choppers with a keyboard and mouse really does notice. Can run rings round people with one vs a controller or even a joystick.

@davehowlett91 i know, i've seen the videos of precision chopper flying, and im sorry, but that is simply IMPOSSIBLE with an xbox controller. i consider myself a mean pilot. i only ever crash if some guy takes a decent pot shot at me with a tank shell and tbh, fair play. but the analog sticks simple are not capable of the accuracy that a mouse and keyboard can achieve. especially the sensitivity.
meh, ill still laser paint you and have you dead before the missile even hits!

@leviroxxs if you build it right, you can get a decent gaming pc at the same cost or cheaper than a console if you already have the peripherals (e.g. keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.) and its a good investment since you can use it for work, homework, entertainment, etc. just don't expect to max out all games with a budget build but you'll still have better graphics than consoles.

@leviroxxs my custom built (by me) pc. $800. common media center pc required to set up your internet connection for the xbox/ps3, about 400. xbox, 200 and up. honestly for one to fork out 200 dollars for something that runs bf3 at a solid 60 fps and allows me to do much more with my games is worth it to me. i understand though that not everyone can build their own pc. my pc on the market would run about 1,300. you can always have a friend build it with you to save money. you can play with --->

@leviroxxs Well you could build one yourself for about 700-1000 and you dont have to use it strictly just for gaming... Or you could spend ~1/3 of that and get an console that it mainly just for gaming and can't do a fraction of what a computer can do.

I recently discovered that if you hijack the enemy heli and stay in its spawn, people still have the option to spawn on it. However, they will just spawn on the ground and be easy pickings for a decent pilot.

Best tactic and loadout for scout heli,
-ECM Jammer
-Guided Missile
-Laser Painter
-Always try to get a route
-Always have at least one engineer with you
-Know where each heli spawns so you have an advantage on getting your own heli and kill the enemy heli
-When in air to air use your minigun as much as you can and aim for the cockpit
-And a rule for the LB, aim a little up of where you want it to hit.

a little tip...use laser painter, ecm jammer, and guided missile because not only will you kill tanks faster with the missile but the laser painter will let you use the missile on helis too which cant be avoided with flares ;)

Good idea to have 2 engineers riding on the skids 2 repair the chopper, but also if the pilot just turns it to the side so the engies can use SMAWs Against heavy armor (Works well)

I also have to add- Lazer Designation+Guided Missle=Instant Death to any Scout Helicopter unless they have ECM Jammer. Which will get rid of your Heat-Seeker lock as well. I prefer Laze+Guided, because it's much easier to kill enemy scouts, but it does have a little bit longer of a lock-on. But hey- at the distances in which you lock on, it's worth it to ECM (or flare, if not high enough. Recommended though) once to break lock, but then insta-kill. No time for engineers to repair.
