For twelve grand it's a waste of time having to transfer back to the top kettle to boil. Huge waste of time and the heat loss would be huge too. Buy a Morebeer or three of them at that cost.
DUDE! you have tore up your kitchen. I hope this is a rental house you are using. Where is your stove?! Phhht. who needs a stove when you have a set up like that. beer is liquid bread. CHeers
Yes its all very different from any other brewing system ever made before. The very problem with gas brewing is boilover and i am here to testify that it does NOT boil the wort in the pot at all it boils in the exchanger only therefore no boilover!
There are really good E-HERMS sytsems out there for around $3-4k...can't speak for this one, though I'm not sure where you got the $9-11k figure from. I'm assuming these guys had a space issue - I'd much rather have three vessels and avoid having to clean out my MLT to then use as a boil kettle for every batch.
nice setup, but if I boiled with the wort level that close to the top, I'd have a boilover just from the hot liquid expanding. Not to mention major boilover from hop additions. That whole thing just looked a little to clean and staged. Just my 2 cents. That is a pretty setup though.

Interesting setup nonetheless.
