Although Emo is not a word, emotional is. This is what Emo means when you are talking about Emo's as in people. Emotionally disturbed people who are influenced by the Emo genre of music and there friends that are also EMO's.That's what EMO is.
Emo is a type of music, but it can also be an adjective as to the fashion scene associated with the music. However, today's "emos" have mutilated the original scene by so much that to 90% of the population, emo no longer stays true to it's origins. I take pride in schooling people on what emo actually is, but it's far too widely accepted that it supposedly means "depressing/whiny/self-mutilating person" that the damage can almost never be undone.
