Using oil as energy source for cars must stop. First, oil is an inefficient product for running cars. If you can create energy on a green way, without oil, than you're complete independant. Motive for Europe to be more independant from Rusia

You don't need to be a genius to know they are at fault thanks to their greedy demands and childish behavior.

The UAW strike on everything. If their dental plans does not cover 1 tooth, they go to strike, if GM does not pay them outrageous salaries plus paid vacations, they go to strike. I say fire them all, get fully-automation plants or ship the manufacturing process to slave condition plants overseas. 

Consumers are the number one priority NOT THE UAW.

You need to be honest with yourself. Auto makers need to learn how to make what the consumer wants, that's the way a free market works, and the corporations don't believe in a free market, that's the problem. They believe in buying government influence.

he's right. the 3 go down it ends up taking tons of smaller businesses with it - from small auto parts makers and stores to small mom and pop party stores and restaurants located around plants that survive off employees that work at the plants.

Only morons believe it's due to workers pay. That shows they don't know what they are talking about.

It's when companies opted for higher profit quickly forgetting it's a catch 22 when you pay workers less. Then they can't afford the product.

I think will be fine. They had finacial troubles for a while because they took on a few too many other companies. But if they sell their good euro cars in the us then they will be ok as ford have some brilliant cars for 'the everyman' and ford did a lot to get themselves into a credible position.

It seems though that americans are getting tired of not getting the good euro stuff.

I hope they all put the cash too good use.

i respect moore, but he has a very narrow one way state of mind. i agree with a lot of what he's saying, but he's missing a lot of information to have such strong arguments. without knowing everything, your points can't stand strong enough. hybrids are not the only answer. make no mistake though, im not dissing moore, on the contrary i want him to know more so he can go further in these interviews

Well, the other half of the problem is that everyone you meet in Detroit worked in a shop and is DISABLED now! There medical coverage is some $3000k a month per person; therefore, everyone of them that is on Disability needs to be re-evaluated and if their pinky finger doesn't work they need to find a job doing something and get the hell off Disability!!!

U.S. Auto makers have been arrogant from long ago. Auto makers from Asia & Europe made products geared specifically for the foreign markets they sold cars in. American makers, except for Ford,until now never made cars this way. They just thought cars for Americans would be the Universal standard for the rest of the world. No wonder buyers all over the world treat US cars as shit & buy Euro & Asian cars instead. This trend is now the same in the States.They dug their own graves with arrogance.

what went wrong, is gm and the other major detroit automakers turned there backs on the american worker, by producing cars in mexico and other parts of the world, strange when roger and me came out, gm made a profit, now after sending the jobs overseas, now u want the american people 2 bail you out!
