That is so incredible to watch. I know at home martial artists are somewhat frowned upon, but my only means to learn was from a DVD. I had never heard of LHBF before buying that DVD, but now I love the style. It's my base and primary. The way she mixes up the order of the movements without missing a beat is amazing. I hope to reach just half her mastery of the style someday. Keep doing what you do, Master Liang.
Very nice work. I have been stydying and applying the teachings of Chen Tuan and Li Dongfong Liuhebafa through scholarship research (Video like this and Articles) and Paul Dillon's work called, Liuhebafa Five Character Secret. My Kung Fu study of Neijia Classics also include Feng, Wang, Li, Chen, Wu and Yang. The last is Wu Mengxia's annotations on 9 Songs & 81 Postures. i have applied all of this and more to cultivate my Wu Style Forms and T'ui & San Shou work. Here is my vid.
Reminds me of xingyiquan, baguazhang, taijiquan, all rolled into one, sometimes more one than the other two, and then rotating to each one in turn, sometimes a strange balance of all three. I think i'd like to learn this some day after my taijiquan and baguazhang catch up to my xingyiquan.
water-style is older than TaiChi or the Nanking: LiuHePaFa; water-style is more fluid; LHBF tends to present its influences: taichi, xingyi, bagua, and LuHong 8-links.
how old is she cuz dam she has a nice ass and shape for an older lady and i love this video but i cant help the feeling that the music comes from a porno lol wonder who stars in it
my my i was only kidding i have nothing but respect for her i mean she could probably kick my assail well she have a hard time against my kung-fu but she probably win
Emei water or snake style comes from one of the three great centers of kung fu or wushu in all of China. Although both Emei and Wutang have great reason to be famous for Taijiquan we can see its ancestral movements in the older Shaolin styles thus all martial arts are descended from Shaolin.
actually I read somewhere that the idea of Shaolin being the origin of Chinese martial arts is untrue and that it may actually use techniques from Wudang. It was a book about Wing Chun where I read this. I'll have to look for it again to get the details
I do not mean to say that there were NO styles other than Xiao Lin but Shaolin or Si Lum is by far the greatest single repository of living ancient martial forms that can be dated back for the most part hundreds to thousand+ years. Certainly all martial arts did not come from Shaolin but many of the tai ji disciplines can not effectively be dated back more than 150 to 450 years or so. May the spirit of wushu live as long as Buddha.
Although San Feng may have really existed the written records of he and his connections to early taiji are dated at least a hundred years after his death. Even in China many scholars disagree that Chan San-Feng is an authentic originator of Taiji. Either way it is a beautiful and powerful style of health wushu and qigong. Master Liang is truly graceful and fast!
here's something to note: not once when she does Gung Bu does her knee extend beyond the toes. in fact, her shin stays perfectly straight. THAT, my friends, is how to gung bu.
i've seen way too many masters let students get away with simple stance mistakes. Liang Shou Yu is an excellent master because of his attention to details in his disciples foundation.
this is the daughter of Liang Shou Yu, she knows the martial applications of this form, trust me. Wushu and Martial Tai Chi are not mutually exclusive, and each has purpose and deserves respect. I practice Martial Art, fighting art, and I understand theory ant technique- if I never use it in a fight it will not be time wasted. Wushu is very beautiful and should be enjoyed for the deep discipline it is.
Boy am I sick of comments from armchair warriors! If you are any good...represent and leave the info for the school you attend. I bet that if I called your sifu or sensei and told them about the trash you dump on others they would put you in a world of hurt. Remember you represent your style, instructor, and school with what you say. Save your instructor and school some face and keep your undereducated comments to yourself.
There's another vid where another guy who practices this says she's all "external" and no "internal". I think he's talking out of his ass. I too am sick of these wannabe's whimpering about style/form/function. Put up or shut up is what I say. If you're better than her, prove it, post a video.
Someone may practice something since childhood & be flexibile & graceful but
it wont make them a fighter/martial artist. BeijingOpera actors do the same yet arent real fighters. Beautiful and martially inspired her moves may be..but she overcommits to each move propelling her weight forward prone to throws & trips. Unlike the graceful Bagua & Silat practicioners her arms show no hint of power and her knees are over bent past her toes and at odd angles leaving her open to injury and tip-overs.
We do not learn Taichi to be able to fight. In fact, the lower you bend, the better it is and will be judged by professionals. When people learn Taichi, it's a style of slow-motion fighting, it is more of a good excercise to help the health.
You shouldn't be criticizing on something you don't really know about. I have a teacher who is a judge and a sister who's best friend in CHina has won the gold metal for best performance of a wushu style 5 years in a row.
My comments are observations not insults. But taichi is a martial art first, filled with defense moves WITH health benefits as an added bonus. Since youre citing medals it is apparent your aims arent health or defense only showmanship which is fine since we all go in for different reasons.
Taichi chuan is martial arts, true. but it is NOT MEANT for fighting. You can learn different moves from it, but you can't use it to fight unless you use it fast, which ruins the art.
You are very wrong. Tai Chi is an extremely powerful martial art. The Martial/Fighting aspect of it is absolutely integral. Even if you intend to use it purely for health and rejuvenation, the martial aspects are essential to correct form.
Tai Chi CHUAN was originally a fighting art. You and most people these days may NOT be learning it as a fighting art, but don't forget it IS a martial art. Most of Wu Shu is performance art and beautiful as it may be, it's a sport. NOT a martial art.
It IS a sport, but is also viewed as martial arts.
Tai chi "CHUAN" is a very modern sport, and was not made to fight. although it was originally a from fighting but it is NOT meant to be used to fight.
