I think your animals are awesome, but I do wonder if you might qualify as an animal hoarder? I understand hobbies and whatnot. I use to have about 10 hamsters all in their own cages. It's just that if you can't provide each pet with a good tank or cage then I think you may have too many. To put the feeder mice in plastic drawers.....well, that just seems cruel. I know they're feeders, but they deserve to enjoy the short lives they're given before they become another animal's meal.
TURTLES, dragons! i hate rodent's they smell and bite. i'm not going to ask how much money you make but man ur a dedicated pet owner to have all of those and dedicate the time to take care of them. cool birds too.
i am not going to leave a negative comment, but what i will say is altho you have a very nice collection, i wouldnt keep the rodents in the same room as the reptiles, and also, you are way too heavy handed with them, and the tubs they live in. Reptiles have feelings too.
When you have as many animals as you do it becomes difficult to keep their enclosures clean and up to date, not to mention giving each individual some attention. I think you bit off more than you can chew with this one.
You shouldn't just slam things around and grab the animals like this... they're live animals, how about having a little gentleness and respect for the fact that they probably don't like being woken up rudely by a hand from the sky grabbing them.
your suppost to wash your hands after handling each individual animal you dont know what diseases you could be spreading to your reptiles...what your snakes might be immune to your geckos might not be
I just don't understand people that buy these beautiful creatures and just box them away. It's cruel to keep an animal as big as the Boas in a damn tupperware that they can't move around in. Why just warehouse them?
@lawnsausages It's called quarantine, for one. As he just got most of those a few days before the video was made, it's essential for the new animals to be housed separately, as they could carry diseases that the current pets could get from them. It's best to keep them in temporary housing for this. His pets are quite well taken care of; if they weren't, he'd have gotten bitten by at least one as he took them out. Animals will make discomfort and distrust known.
@Weretigress Thanks for your comments. He explained the situation with the boas and I do feel better about the whole situation with what you've added. I just hate to see any animal stored away in those opaque plastic bins, especially the social animals like the possums and hedge hogs, mammal bias I guess lol. Thanks again.
@lawnsausages Not a problem. :) It's a breath of fresh air to get a positive reaction from someone. I do agree about the bins, but at the same time, one has to remember that it's for the good of all the animals there. Think of it like a child having chicken pox or something like that; they might be a bit unhappy until they get better, but it's not a good idea to risk giving it to everyone around them. XD They wouldn't appreciate that! LOL.
@lawnsausages thats because you dont admire beauty, and have you EVER played with fire? Sure, it makes you wet the bed, but beyond that, it's ridiculously fun. Laugh in the face of danger, kid.
@lawnsausages the tubs maintain the humidity and heat they require to stay healthy... Also, they're not easy to see through so the animal will feel more secure. Also, most snakes will spend their lives in their hides, not really utilizing the giant space you would probably give them. In the wild, they will live under rocks or burrowed in little caves only coming out to feed...
@reptileman26 nah, I know what I'm doing, and out of all the litters of hedgehogs I've had, not a single baby has died or been eaten by the parents. They all turned out super calm and nice as well, unlike most hedgehogs I see online or in pet shops.
You can't keep them in boxes like that! Where's the fresh air! Where's the uvb light that they love to bask in! Their not toys! They are real life animals, and they deserve to be treated better than that! you're not giving them everything they need to live a healthy life!
@b7u7g7 well, if thats for the enclosure and lizard you arent getting anything. that isnt enough to properly house any lizards except maybe anoles. but if thats for the reptile itslelf, as a beginner a bearded dragon, leopard or crested gecko. bearded dragons are the priceyest to care for. then crested then leopard geckos. hope this helped!tell me if you have any other questions.
@b7u7g7 Start with something simple like an anole or house gecko. They can be found for as little as $10 and are easy to care for. You could also start with something like a leopard gecko.
dude, wtf? you don't keep and handle leopard geckos like that. you only keep males together with females when breeding. and the way you put that hide back with the female gecko in it - it could've landed on her tail! no big deal for you i guess, considering the other female looks like she already lost her tail.
@earthling1984 It's sad to hear those pets are meant to be food. I know that those snaked need to be fed but I had raits and mice as pets and I loved them to death.
@Fishowner07 You will find most breeders don't actually put a lot of money in the containers but put a lot more focus on keeping the animals healthier for breeding as well to sell.
@earthling1984 i think you take care of youre animals good the other people dont know what there talking about ohh and are you like a explorer also what is the most dangerous pet in youre house
ok i just have to ask one thing, do you have a social life? Also thats a nice california king snake, also did you put your boa in a bigger container? i'm not a snake expert but he doesn't look like he has alot of room to roam around in.
bro you have way so many animals. the big snake you have cannot even move inside that small box you put it in. dont you think that in a way you support animal trafficking?
First that snake is a red tailed boa constrictor you got it right and second, you need air holes in your pets tanks! They won't be able to breath and you don't breed mice in drawers.Third, you don't pick up bearded dragons off of their stick like that! You need to carefully take their claws upward from the stick.
@BigGirl1351 Its safe but I personally find that they shouldnt be held like this. While these specific reptiles arent as dependant on UV as some other species and these animals can all grow big and stay healthy in such enclosures, it does increase the animals welfare if they would atleast get some basking oppertunity and more enrichment in the enclosure surely would bennefit the animals welfare. This is a cheap way to store more animals but it comes at a cost for them.
@Ab1djan alright thanks bro:) cuz i have three leapard gekos and keeping them in a big glass cage is kind of a hassle so i thought it would be easier and better for them to get a bigger container for them to have more room, but i guess i'll stick to the glass one
@rhondabuie actually even large snakes perfer small areas.....the are secretive animals and if put in a very large cage most snakes even large ones will stay in one small area and might be very stressed out because it feels its vaunerable to predators....most breeders use rack and tub systems to have lots of snakes but still use up only a small amout of space in the room.... yes those cages do seem a bit small but all in all keeping a snake in a giant cage is somewhat more cruel =)
@ontarioherper I dont completely agree, the snake would still bennefit from a bigger enclosure given that they have hiding spots for more stressfull situations. Ideally they would hide in areas for them comparable what they get now, and also have the possibility to pop out and roam around.
@Ab1djan thats a good point..i never thought of that.....i myself perfer large cages but some people just wanto save a bit of money and use smaller less decorative cages/
hey, you are one of my favorite youtuber! but i really want one of you pets ( not really, like the same breed) but my parents wont let me get one.. do you know how i can talk them into letting me get one?

Hey what should i get for Christmas a Leopard Gecko or a Bearded Dragon which one is simpler and easier to take care of? Also you have amazing animals!!!
@ReptileHerpes yup ik i already got a 10 gallon tank and im going to use reptile carpet for him do you know whats better, the lil' wax worms or crickets?
My collection at one time included 3 Burmese pythons, 2 ball pythons, a reticulated python, 2 green anacondas and an African spur-thighed tortoise. It was fun, but a LOT of work to care for them all. Had to find homes for all but my ball pythons when I moved about 12 years ago.
That's one CRAZY pet collection! I used to keep several large snakes, but now I just have my 2 ball pythons that I've have for about 20 years (believe it or not!). Oh, and my Savannah cats, of course.
I love crested geckos!!! My dad is going to get me one for x-mas! I've been researching them for a while, and I think I'm ready to get one (my mom thinks I'm crazy, that since I'm starting middle school I won't have time, and that since I'm a girl, I should get another hamster, not a gecko) But, I have been checking each day, and I can promise that I have over an hour each day that I can spend with him, and I have checked on petco.com and I can afford it's cage and set up. But do u hav any tips?
@cool9312 awesome... and what does being a girl have to do with what pets you want?!? silly parents. You sound excited and ready to own your gecko, if you have any questions let me know! As for tips, just watch around youtube about care of them, and research online, make sure you know everything about them before christmas when you get him/her :)
@zmozo well I really do recommend reptile carpet. Some people use sand, but some people say this is dangerous, others say it is fine. I think really the only thing I would use with my dragons is reptile carpet, I can't really think of anything better. If you don't want to pay for reptile carpet, you could simply use an old towel you have in your house to cover the bottom of the cage(but do watch and make sure their claws don't stick to much on it - they are fine on the reptile carpet).
@alex77840 I actually had a long term girlfriend/fiance/wife for 8 years. We divorced about 6 months ago cus she's a dumb bitch. But I have plenty new girls a knockin :)
Idk I know people are probably goign to get mad at me but he seems a little rough, Im used to more gentle handling but its probably because Im not into to much breeding...I dont care if the vid it twice as long I just think he should be slower....
clearly you take good care of your herps, but you really do handle your crested gecko way too rough. No wonder he is missing his tail, you should never hold them down like that
your hair. I mean, your hair. I really mean, your hair. Do something for your hair, you look...just...phallic. ps. ur animals deserve more space, i guess u might have misunderstood the meaning of keeping animals:it's not about how many u can keep of em, it's about how well u make em live.
@Morlarka as you can see, he takes the animals out!! He keeps the beeding/ egg laying area noice and moist, you never know!! The huge snake does look kinda cramped but as u can see he takes him out!! Never judge someone by a video!!!
Do you have a well paying job to take care of all of those animals?

SpeedDemon46 1 month ago

But do u hav any tips?
cool9312 2 months ago
@cool9312 awesome... and what does being a girl have to do with what pets you want?!? silly parents. You sound excited and ready to own your gecko, if you have any questions let me know! As for tips, just watch around youtube about care of them, and research online, make sure you know everything about them before christmas when you get him/her :)

i have a question on substrate for beardies. What is the best substrate other than the liner???
zmozo 2 months ago
@zmozo well I really do recommend reptile carpet. Some people use sand, but some people say this is dangerous, others say it is fine. I think really the only thing I would use with my dragons is reptile carpet, I can't really think of anything better. If you don't want to pay for reptile carpet, you could simply use an old towel you have in your house to cover the bottom of the cage(but do watch and make sure their claws don't stick to much on it - they are fine on the reptile carpet).

Idk I know people are probably goign to get mad at me but he seems a little rough, Im used to more gentle handling but its probably because Im not into to much breeding...I dont care if the vid it twice as long I just think he should be slower....
Crazyboutreptiles 2 months ago
clearly you take good care of your herps, but you really do handle your crested gecko way too rough.
