i was standing next to an f1 tyre change. the guy threw the wheel behind him as he too it off the car, it hit me in the leg, and just about knocked me clean over, and that was just with a very modest throw.

imagine the engery going through that tyre, it would utterly smash your body if it hit you

RIP... Lots of men died for mad tyres... I remember also a track officer at monza...

After that accident F1 Uses a STEEL CORD to block the tyres if the suspension fails so do not see killer tyres going around the track. It has been years that F1 uses such a cheap and simple method to save life... F2 does not... I think there are responsabilities... (Sry for any grammar mistake :D)

Hilarious? nahh, lethal? Yep. You saw how easily the tyre smashed the rear window of the car although it had already lost majority of its impact power. Imagine what it would've done if there had been people there.
