Hi, Laugh-In was shot on tape but its initial edits were made on black and white kinescope film. The finished kinescope used as the guide for the final editing of the 2 inch video tape, which was literally cut with razor blades under a microscope. The blooper reel was taken from the B&W kinescope. How do I know? I was one of the writers on the Laugh In series. ...Rowby Goren
Thank you for the millions of laughs you have contributed to our lives over the years. Pity we can't have shows like this today that are so very funny.
Thanks for the inside sccop! Very interesting... but STOOPID. ;D R.I.P., Henry Gibson. Heaven just got a little funnier. Thanks to you Rowby, for making me laugh so much!
It was a wonderful combination of writers, performers, directors, special material musical writers -- all under the incredible vision of George Schlatter. We certainly need a Laugh-In now. BTW you'll see a photo of me and fellow writer in the Jokewall at my site rowbyvideos (I can't put in the .com). My entire TV career was started by George Schlatter when he hired me as a writer for Laugh-In. ...Rowby
@rowbyrowby You were one of the writers for Laugh IN, I remember watching that show in the 60's growing up as a kid . What a great show. One of the most entertaining shows ever on TV.
The dirty bloopers were not left in, but there were plenty of hilarious goofs in this show which machine-gunned jokes at you so fast you needed commercials to catch up with them.
Be it the bloopers or the show itself, "Laugh-In" will always be a priceless gem in TV history. Too bad there's no equivalent to the show today. We really need a 21st century version of "Laugh-In" (though I guess "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" could come in close...).
Laugh-In was simply wonderful. I loved it and remained a fan for the full run of the show. Too bad there isn't a show like it for these troubled times.
OH THE IRONY! BOB HOPE AS A NAZI... LMAO!

I'm sure a lot of folks today don't know about the ol' razor blade editing. Thanks from a musician.

@rowbyrowby I just wonder if any writer could dream up a show like this was. It was so great to grow up in this area..

The look on Dan's face when Pamela Rodgers lets fly is similar to that of a steer after it's been hit with a sledgehammer.
