Actually fights between coalition partners are not uncommon and can be quite bloody although not to the point of death.
When fighting rivals from other coalitions male lions target the back in an attempt to kill their opponent. In this fight neither male appears to be attempting a fatal bite which suggests these are partners. Also notice how the lionesses are not attacking one specific male but are just taking random bites at them. This also suggests neither of these males is an intruder.

I dont really think these two males are brothers figthing over a female...If you see the previous video before this one (part one) and this one, its pretty evident they are not fighting for mating rights. First of all, male pride members do not fight to the point that they draw blood, its a proven fatc. They need each other to defend the pride, so their mating fights arent as long or as intense as seen in this video. This is a territorial fight, these males are clearly not related.

Roelemanksi, did your guides tell you which of the prides this was from the Masai Mara? I'd like to know which males from that area this was. I am familar with many of the males in are the area from tv and internet reports. Solo? Cheza? Sala? Some of the Notch boys?
I hate to see them hurting each other, usually lions fights aren't this severre, especially from coalition males. Poor things they are such magnificent creatures.

Why doesn't some one part them or do something, instead of just watching them fight, if someone had of stepped in there that male lion wouldn't have had a bloody nose, it's plain to see people in this situation are scared to stop these situations.

@pimple22 How do you possibly expect people to stop to fully grown adult males from fighting? You should never interfere with animals in that state ever! Or even nature for that matter...this happens on a daily basis, its natural for the lions to get hurt...they are fighting you know...they are fighting to decided who will mate...its a natural process...its instinct.

@mrmonk2000 I thought if you shouted out very loud, that it might scare them off, I often do this if dogs are fighting, when I shout they run, and I have grabed them by the scruff of there necks, and shouted they do calm down then, so your saying you cannot do the same with lions when they fight, I think it can be done, no one has ever tride, or should i say pride with lions, those males look puny anyway, and another thing they have'nt seen me when I'm WASPY.

Actually fights between coalition partners are not uncommon and can be quite bloody although not to the point of death.
When fighting rivals from other coalitions male lions target the back in an attempt to kill their opponent. In this fight neither male appears to be attempting a fatal bite which suggests these are partners. Also notice how the lionesses are not attacking one specific male but are just taking random bites at them. This also suggests neither of these males is an intruder.

I dont really think these two males are brothers figthing over a female...If you see the previous video before this one (part one) and this one, its pretty evident they are not fighting for mating rights. First of all, male pride members do not fight to the point that they draw blood, its a proven fatc. They need each other to defend the pride, so their mating fights arent as long or as intense as seen in this video. This is a territorial fight, these males are clearly not related.
