Who did start the practice of abusing Sahabas?

Sahih Muslim, Book 31: Chapter 4: Number 5915:

"This hadith has been narrated. on the authority of Shu'ba with the same chain of transmitters. Amir b. Sa'd b. Abi Waqqas reported on the authority of his father that? Muawiya b. Abi Sufyin appointed Sa'd as the Governor and said:? What prevents you from abusing Abu Turab (Hadrat 'Ali), whereupon be said:_ _ _ _ _"

@Hussain5572 I have read that the Ummayad's used to curse Hazrat Ali (as) and I accept that they were wrong in doing so. But they were not as pious as the Khulafa e Rashidin (who did not curse each other).

And it doesn't matter who started it; it is still wrong... all companions of the Holy Prophet (sAaw) are great.... especially the ones who embraced Islam in the early stages. This is the msg I mean to give in this video :)
