You can't honestly say the U87 doesn't sound good on vocals, can you? It may not be the best microphone for YOUR voice, or SOMEBODY'S voice, but there is no doubt that the U87 is one of the most popular vocal microphones ever. I'm pretty sure it's regarded by a great many to be the 'holy grail' of vocal microphones. It's BEAUTIFUL, dude!
That U87Ai sounds pretty good, but I've heard many that will stomp on it for much less money. The Avantone CV12 is my hands-down, ultimate, absolute go-to. Its my f'n baby. The Audio Technica AT4050 and AT4060 are also my children.
@TheStudioprod Hey dont knock your 2020 man, You can get some pretty sick recordings out of it with the right preamp or at least a good audio interface.
