This game is terrible, it's unfinished. Why not take a year to fix it? Was it really all that hard? Heres the problems I have with this game. First of all the bosses are mind numbingly boring and very repetitive. The physics are broken, there are glitches up the ass, cheap enemy placement that leads to my death, and the controls are so bad seriously it's like you tilt the control stick in one direction and you go flying to the other end. Oh and the speed stages.
A lot of people commented that this is probably the worst Sonic game ever and that it was better off forgotten......However at the end of the game all these events were erased and it never happened.....Anybody see the irony here?

@reservoirdog666 unless you completely suck balls at this game and rage quit on the first level i think the game was good i never encountered the glitches in this game and even when i did i learnt how to avoid them, it was totally worth the $20 i paid for it and is actually the most enjoyable sonic game i played.

Not really. If that was the case than Shrek and Fiona's love would be sick. Your an idiot. The gameplay is great (much better than Heroes, Shadow, Secret Rings, Unleashed, and Black Knight and to an extent better than Adventure 2's gameplay), the story is very emotional, well thought out, epic, deep, and engaging. Only someone who doesn't like to think would find the story overly complicated or confusing, most of the glitches in the game only happen if the player is purposefully causing them to happen, the controls while they take a bit to get used to are very good

This game is OK imo. Sonics story was meh, silvers was good, shadows was a bit better than sonics. I just wish sonics story had more to do with speed and platforming. Homing attacking enemys over and over isnt fun. The games story was terrible too. Its still better than unleashed imo. Id take almost any 06 level over the werehog.
@hoppimike It was unfinished. Sony and Microsoft rushed them because they wanted what money they could get from selling this game during the holiday season. If they wouldn't have been so greedy and actually given Sega and Sonic Team enough time to make the game it probably would have been decent. Also if you watch the american trailer from Sep. 7, 2006 you can see they sped up the footage of Sonic running to make their fans think he was fast.

There are many things that would need to be fixed such as the controls, the character models for the in game cutscenes, the story, and for god sake the relationship between the princess and Sonic. Iblis was just a very generic lava monster, the princess was just annoying, Sonic looked constantly pissed off and never acted like himself. The character models were junk and the game had terrible controls. If Sega would have taken their time it could have been good.

The reason sonic and the secret rings isn't in sonic generations is because it's part of the story book series, which isn't part of the main canon. It is actually a pretty fun game.
As for this game it did have potential, but since it was so broken at launch, not enough people would give it a second chance, so there would be no point in trying to fix it.
They did that because a majority of their fans are corrupted little fags who don't appriciate anthing that they do for them. No it's not in there because it sucks.

@MrMagicalToast You don't do your research because Sonic Team wanted to delay the game until either late 2007 or early 2008 but Microsoft (wanting to cash in on the Holidays) told them that if the game wasn't released by Holiday 2006 then they would terminate any and al future contracts with Sega and Sonic would never be on another Microsoft console so Sonic Team had no choice but to release an earlier buggier build to the public.
Either way, it would have still been on playstation.
Ans sega still released a broken game that seems like it's still in alfa, and i can't respect a developer who does that, even if it's someone else's fault.

What would you have rather happend? Them not release a game that had been extremely hyped and was very looked forward to by both the fans and reviewers and have another case of the Sonic XTreme fiasco, or them release a game that was buggy but still was good despite it's faults. I'm pretty sure the first choice would have hurt the franchise more than the second choice.
@pkstarstorm1up i still can't find articles or anything that says microsoft said what you said they did, and it doesn't make sense that they would do something like that. Sega doesn't care so much about microsoft, especially back then, that they would rush a game out to market just for them. Their primary partner since they stopped making consoles has been nintendo, and this gen there has been more sega games on wii than any other system.
Thumbs up if you dont want the 20th anniversary game to just be old levels with new graphics (the rumor), and want a new 3D Game with adventure fields, and all the characters such as sonic, tails, knuckles, shadow, rouge, silver, blaze, maybe chaotix team etc.

@nintendoguy360 The chao part took me the longest time until i remembered I had a chaos chao that I could enter lol. But the worst of all for me was Cannons core, Finding the lost chao (UUUUGGGGHHHH) That took forever because there was those Mystic Melody pedestals in part of the level for EVERY CHARACTER. It was pure hell getting them all.
@FatetheHedgehog I used guides for the lost chao missions because im terrible at them. Also isnt there an emblem for A ranking EVERY MISSION? When I realized that I just said screw it. Personally hours of torture isnt worth a 2 minute greenhillzone level which I will sadly never get.

@nintendoguy360 SEGA failed a long time ago. this is just a continuation :/ most outstandingly amoung their failuers, they failed the transition to 3D. they tried to make the games more impressive, but if youhavent noticed, whenever someone tries to make something look epic with all sorts of explosions and stuff, it never turns out good. sonic unleashed got rid of that junk, and it turned out great. but i think SEGA is almost past the point of no return :| Nintendo and Valve got it right though

I liked the adventure series, sonic heroes, shadow the hedgehog, sonic unleashed, colors, and im sure generations will be amazing. But before colors I still think the games werent as quality games as the mario games, but still good. The main reason sonic cant do as well in 3D is because sonic is fast. And you cant do much platforming in the 3D View going as fast as sonic. Thats why mario turned out better.

@GDarkGoombaG i even did an analysis of the mirror hall, if u examine it u can see the flopside door is next to the flipside door which is impossible unless there a HUGE amount of dimensional twisting there, thats supported by the fact that the light on flipside side doesnt penetrate to flopside side showing that its not going around some corner, which means that its a dimensional corner, but u go around it by going straight. also since eight blocks r on flipeside side, flipside was made first

Sonic is more like a human then an animal. He can talk, eat regular foods, get mad, sad, happy, and fall in love. So really Sonic has the soul of a human in a hedgehogs body. That's what an anthropormorphic animal is. He's allowed to choose who he falls in love with(Amy of course.) but even if he loved Elise since he's really almost completely human and since there are many of examples of humanxMobian in the Sonic series, that means that it isn't beastiallity.

Your an idiot. The gameplay is great (much better than Heroes, Shadow, Secret Rings, Unleashed, and Black Knight and to an extent better than Adventure 2's gameplay), the story is very emotional, well thought out, epic, deep, and engaging. Only someone who doesn't like to think would find the story overly complicated or confusing, most of the glitches in the game only happen if the player is purposefully causing them to happen, the controls while they take a bit to get used to are very good

This game is OK imo. Sonics story was meh, silvers was good, shadows was a bit better than sonics. I just wish sonics story had more to do with speed and platforming. Homing attacking enemys over and over isnt fun. The games story was terrible too. Its still better than unleashed imo. Id take almost any 06 level over the werehog.

@hoppimike It was unfinished. Sony and Microsoft rushed them because they wanted what money they could get from selling this game during the holiday season. If they wouldn't have been so greedy and actually given Sega and Sonic Team enough time to make the game it probably would have been decent. Also if you watch the american trailer from Sep. 7, 2006 you can see they sped up the footage of Sonic running to make their fans think he was fast.

A bad game to me is one where the underlying components are bad - the level design, story, etc etc.

@hoppimike Also to me the story is just flipping stupid. A very generic demon worm thats going to destroy the world with a recolor of shadow? There are many things that would need to be fixed such as the controls, the character models for the in game cutscenes, the story, and for god sake the relationship between the princess and Sonic. I wouldn't mind if it was a friendship type relationship but seriously she kissed him at the end. I don't care if it is unfinished it's a terrible game.

However, Sonic '06 WAS planned to be released on the Wii, but Sonic Team wanted to release a game closer to the console's launch date. They scrapped Sonic '06 for the Wii, and added the team that was supposed to port it to the Wii to work on Secret Rings, thus having a larger staff for that game. Please stop making up nonsense.

@SonicCircuit I agree. Sa2 is an overrated piece of junk. Only the sonic/shadow stages were fun. Imo sonic 06 is one of the best sonic games. All people do is complain about the stupidest things that were even in the other 3D sonics. Such as controls, glitches, etc. I found far more glitches in adventure 1 than sonic 06.

I like seeing people try to defend this game. Wake up, this game was never finished lol also the plot was just a HUGE pile of crap. Iblis was just a very generic lava monster, the princess was just annoying, Sonic looked constantly pissed off and never acted like himself. The character models were junk and the game had terrible controls. If Sega would have taken their time it could have been good.

The reason sonic and the secret rings isn't in sonic generations is because it's part of the story book series, which isn't part of the main canon. It is actually a pretty fun game.
As for this game it did have potential, but since it was so broken at launch, not enough people would give it a second chance, so there would be no point in trying to fix it.

@MrMagicalToast You don't do your research because Sonic Team wanted to delay the game until either late 2007 or early 2008 but Microsoft (wanting to cash in on the Holidays) told them that if the game wasn't released by Holiday 2006 then they would terminate any and al future contracts with Sega and Sonic would never be on another Microsoft console so Sonic Team had no choice but to release an earlier buggier build to the public.

Look up Sonic 06's development on Sonic News Network and Sonic Retro which are the leading Sonic resources.
What would you have rather happend? Them not release a game that had been extremely hyped and was very looked forward to by both the fans and reviewers and have another case of the Sonic XTreme fiasco, or them release a game that was buggy but still was good despite it's faults. I'm pretty sure the first choice would have hurt the franchise more than the second choice.

Sega doesn't care so much about microsoft, especially back then, that they would rush a game out to market just for them. Their primary partner since they stopped making consoles has been nintendo, and this gen there has been more sega games on wii than any other system.

But the worst of all for me was Cannons core, Finding the lost chao (UUUUGGGGHHHH) That took forever because there was those Mystic Melody pedestals in part of the level for EVERY CHARACTER. It was pure hell getting them all.

@nintendoguy360 SEGA failed a long time ago. this is just a continuation :/ most outstandingly amoung their failuers, they failed the transition to 3D. they tried to make the games more impressive, but if youhavent noticed, whenever someone tries to make something look epic with all sorts of explosions and stuff, it never turns out good. sonic unleashed got rid of that junk, and it turned out great. but i think SEGA is almost past the point of no return :| Nintendo and Valve got it right though

I liked the adventure series, sonic heroes, shadow the hedgehog, sonic unleashed, colors, and im sure generations will be amazing. But before colors I still think the games werent as quality games as the mario games, but still good. The main reason sonic cant do as well in 3D is because sonic is fast. And you cant do much platforming in the 3D View going as fast as sonic. Thats why mario turned out better.

@SilverfangX777 its the climax of the series, it explains everything earlier in the series. u have to explore urself but, u can find the story of how the shadow queen used to be a pixl, and how she made mimi, the biorobot, and how 1,500 years ago the ancients used pixls to do their work, but the pixls, led by the pixl queen, rebelled so the ancients locked them up. then, u can use stuff rom ttyd to know that the koopa, boo etc, beat the pixl queen and turned her into shadow queen, etc

@GDarkGoombaG i even did an analysis of the mirror hall, if u examine it u can see the flopside door is next to the flipside door which is impossible unless there a HUGE amount of dimensional twisting there, thats supported by the fact that the light on flipside side doesnt penetrate to flopside side showing that its not going around some corner, which means that its a dimensional corner, but u go around it by going straight. also since eight blocks r on flipeside side, flipside was made first

Sonic is more like a human then an animal. He can talk, eat regular foods, get mad, sad, happy, and fall in love. So really Sonic has the soul of a human in a hedgehogs body. That's what an anthropormorphic animal is. He's allowed to choose who he falls in love with(Amy of course.) but even if he loved Elise since he's really almost completely human and since there are many of examples of humanxMobian in the Sonic series, that means that it isn't beastiallity.

@pkstarstorm1up Almost Human?!?! Have you EVER seen human go out in public wearing gloves and shoes... but no pants. I can't say that I have more than once.
