  • I really fall in love with this song, and everytime i hear it my eyes get wet... cause in germany there is a clip of history from the Worldchampion sebastian vette, and its full of emotions... so bautifull *.*

  • Go to google,

    type: rainymood

    click the first link

    and play this video. Enjoy...

  • so gut..

  • "Vettel Weltmeister? ... warum eigentlich nicht?" - 2010

  • He plays very beautifull. I want to play it too, but haven't come yet to more than 3 pages (of the 5... but most is repeated). It isn't very often at all, but sometimes it is a bit to hard, and his technique isn't that good at all, but the sound is very good indeed!

  • Is the Dostoevsky quote from one of his books?

I haven't read any yet but will buy some soon...

  • T-T Du hast mir das herz gebtochen!

  • oh i needed that ,so awesome.

  • very very nice!

  • I love this interpretation. A lot of the ones I hear push the tempo way too much on some of the sections and it doesn't really let the beauty come out.

  • Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Played beautifully .. I saw Yundi Li perform this piece at Carnegie Hall and thought he played it too fast. It's so much more moving at this tempo.

  • Very nice interpretation thank you so much.

  • Fingers as an extension of the soul...

  • He makes it look easy to play. Beautiful.

  • wish they used a better mic :/

  • @Pangjunmin yeah, too much pink noise

  • esta rola con un wisky ahuevo!

  • FEDERICO CHOPIN, EL DIVINO MAESTRO!

  • This is absolutely mesmerizing..he plays beautifully!

  • Beautiful piece. wish he wouldnt hurry through the more intricate things though. thats where Chopin really shines.

  • Great, but a bit too many gags with the tempo after my taste.

  • hey guys this is my first time listening to classical music im novice but i loved what this guys just played so where do i find the meaning of nocturne and op.9 no.1 need help on that any body please help me ?

  • @SIFYWAY Nocturne is a kind of musical composition. Opus is a number used to classify musical compositions according to their moment of publication. An Opus may be conformed by several pieces, which are identified by a number. For example, Chopin Op. 9 has three pieces: Op. 9 No.1, Op. 9 No. 2 and Op. 9 No. 3, all of them published together, at the same time (that's why they share the same Opus number).

  • @SIFYWAY If you want to listen to Chopin music, I recommend you to look for Arthur Rubinstein's renditions. He's one of the best Chopin interpreters, if not the best. Especially, look for his old recordings (1930-1950).

  • @SIFYWAY well.. you can find the meaning of nocturne on google, as for op, it stands for opus and i would assume no. means number

  • he makes it look so effortless. applause, applause.

  • This piece is my favourite. I love it, and I thing this veriasion was great. Wanna learn how to play it to <3

  • 22 people were too drunken to hit "I like"

  • 22 people failed playing this song

  • God bless this Boy!

  • He brings amazing mood to this piece, pouring his heart into it. This is how a piece of music should be played.

  • Stark!

  • was slightly slower tempo, but it is very emotional

  • Great performance !

  • @Caitlin9490 Why don't you upload a video showing us how to play it properly?

  • @Caitlin9490 Why don't you upload a video showing us how to play it properly?

  • he makes it look so easy!

  • He's perfect for this song. I think it's the right speed and the volume (I forgot that Italian term) is just right. :)

  • the best music :X:X:X

  • maybe play it little bit faster, but great job of course ;)

  • Hello Vadim, Extremely good played. Your touch is wonderfull.I was wondering what piano you are playing here. I guess it´s an old Bechstein. It has such a nice clear sound. I studied this piece many years ago, but when i hear you playing the piece i am taking it up again together with nr. 5 for a concert at my teacher´s end 2010.Hope you will play in Amsterdam one time.

  • i want to get a tattoo of these notes

  • man i love this song

  • @FollowersofDamu this is not a song, its nocturne

  • How very gracious of God to give such beautiful music to us!

  • @007captainobvious I could have sworn Chopin gave that music to us.

  • @marcelhochman OK, so maybe I get my composers mixed up sometimes. lol

  • @007captainobvious

Give to God what belongs to God and to Chopin what belongs to Chopin ;-)

  • My left is always too strong when I play this :(

  • Omg so amazing i love this

  • I adore this piece. It's one of the most beautiful and tender pieces I've ever heard. More than number 2... XD

  • How long would it take someone to learn this with much musical knowledge but no piano skills?

  • @FollowersofDamu I'd say it would take a lot. There are a bunch of irregular measures and extrange things. That's what makes it beautiful. Go, Chopin! :]

  • @FollowersofDamu

Lol. Thats almost like asking how long would it take a man to win a 40 yard dash, who is an expert it sports, but is missing a leg. My advice would be to try an easier piece and build up to this or else this song could take several months to complete.

  • @FollowersofDamu Good luck. This piece sounds much easier than what it is, this pianist is doing a good job of making something difficult look simple. Imagine the left hand doing one thing and the right doing the exact opposite. It takes years of training to get to that point and do it flawlessly and naturally. That being said I'm not there yet. You would be able to get it with instruction, but it would be less frustrating to start with a simplified version of this piece or easier chopin.

  • the only reason its not as popular as no 2 is cos ppl fall asleep after listening to this.

  • @FreackZz ppl who listen to lady gaga and black eyed peas, maybe. People who really enjoy romantic music will not fall asleep even after listening to Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.

  • Nice work!!!! Me too; after i finish with op. 72 No. 1 then I'll try to learn this piece.

  • absolutely wonderful. You took some liberty with the rhythm and it turned out absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for not rushing the triplet and really emphasizing its unique rhythm in this piece. Again, wonderful to hear.

  • This is probably my favorite piece ever composed by Chopin, it is such a shame that it is so extremely underrated in comparison with No. 2 . This is such a beautiful interpretation. Thank you for posting it!

  • A beautiful interpretation!

  • Sweet, glad to see you finally got out of your apartment!

  • very nice playing it is so wounderful !!!!!!!!

  • only Chopin can write this...I'll relearn this piece...Vadim does a good job here.

  • I love this song very much.

  • "Elain Lust" dose a great job of this pice, good job "dorianGray2005" As well, a little too slow for my liking but good emotion. just finished this pice as myself.

  • My all-time favorite Chopin song.

  • Beautiful.. . .love the rises and falls.

  • Beauitful job! This is my favorite nocturne!

  • superb:D

  • Amazing !

  • so wonderful:))

  • I would also agree with that.

  • this song is very nice... i'm learning it right now.. the touch is a bit difficult because need to make a special legato and soft touch.

  • This is really good :)

  • Deeply touching.

  • He's got a great touch on the piano! I prefer mine with less rubato...but to each their own.

  • Does anyone know where i could find the sheet music for this?

  • @GorgonTheMagicMan

in a shop maybe, because if people stop buying sheetbooks, they wont print anymore...

  • ya...me too. I am also looking for the score. thank yuo.

  • Brilliant! Played with such ease. :) You make it look easy when it's not!

  • Absolutely beautiful. Great interpretation. I can feel his heart through the music.

  • Just beautiful! He plays it in a wonderful tempo which is dreamy! Bravo!

  • Exactly, just fantastic!!!

  • May I know where can I get this music score ?

  • good

  • nice feeling. like it!

  • It's hard to criticize rubato as a factor of speed.

  • tempo rubato. =)

  • Really nice interpretation =)

  • great interpretation!

this song gives me chills everytime

  • It's Beautiful!

  • lovely!

  • It sounds like a waltz because he sustains the first note of each arpeggio D:

  • bravo, impossibile suonarlo mglio di così

  • a very beautiful piece, but he drags it around too much especially at he beggining :(

  • drags too much? this is an agitated nocturne. there's very good rubato feel here.

  • this song is so pretty, it sounds much better hearing someone play it in IRL than in a recording though.

  • A very fine pianist playing a very lovely tune.

  • Chopin's op.9 no.1~3 is the most beutiful nocturne :) my favourite!

  • @wj224 nocturne no.3 by liszt is the most beautiful piece in my opinion ;-)

  • Perfect !!!!!!!!

    that pretty dynamic

  • Beautifully played. Great speed and with passion...

  • Beautifully played. Wonderful job.

    This was my recital piece in winter 2007 - took so long to memorize in time, and I felt like I did a rush job. Now I regret it. x___x;

  • Everyone has their own speed to match their mood. If you think he played too slow then go play it yourself.

  • I love it.

  • I've just started this piece. With all the flats its seems really hard =/

Anyone have any tips for this piece?

  • To me it is very hard ... The rhythmic stuff is crazy ... I would say to sing and play the melody seperately quite a bit so you can bring it out and be as lyrical as possible ... I would also say to make sure you find a good fingering for the middle section ^o^

  • Thanks for the reply.

Rhythmic stuff? And what do you mean by singing and playing the melody separately?

  • The opening and closing theme has sepeate rhythms in both hands ... Havent played this in a while ... its like sextuplets in the left hand and 11th notes in the right ... its horrible ! ! and then its 3 against 4 ... 9 against 6 ... and something else ... its aweful ... And for me ... when I sing the melody or play it seperately for a while it really halps to bring it out ... for me :)

  • oh yeah ... its 6 against 11 ... 6 against 9 ... and 11 against 12 ! !

  • It's not as hard as it seems at first once you get the hang of it.

  • its to slow ? go fetch neanderthal

  • too slow... but the way its interpreted is very good

  • How can speed be a criterium?? slower, faster... its so stupid to write sth is too slow - dont you see this??

  • you're the one who's stupid. Speed is very important and affects the mood. Anyway, its just my personal opinion that the piece is played too slowly, its not as if I'm forcing everybody else to believe in that too. YOU can't force me to believe in your stupid ideas.

  • I didn't mean to upset you I just think that speed is not so important if the interpretation is convincing. imho

  • Ivch spiele sie sehr gerne aber nur den anfang und das ende, den mittelteil finde ich nicht so sonderlich schön!

  • Although it is not as famous as number 2 but it is extreamly more beautiful ! I am going to learn this piece too : )

  • @Talokaaa it's strange that op.9 no.2 is more famous than this no.1, i discovered it two or three weeks ago and i am practising...

  • magical. I learned this piece a few months ago and this interpretation really influenced how I play it myself. so thank you!

  • love it, its just wonderful.

unfortunately the sound quality is abit bad

  • Sublime. Beautifully played

  • Magnificent.

  • it's beautiful :)

  • plays it well, but a bit slow. But still, very nice!

  • For a film I'm making for school I'm looking

for videos of people who are playing

    Chopin - Nocturne in B flat minor, op.9 n°1.

I already found some on YouTube but I'm looking

for some more vids. If you are interested,

please leave a videoresponse to my only video on my account.

  • I hate musicians who come in to listen to music like this and try to break it down technically. Dude I went to Berklee, I can jibber jabber about technique for days, just shut up and enjoy the grace of this music.

  • somebody please send me music sheets of this song. :-s

  • Es demasiado hermosa esta pieza, pero aprender a tocarla , NO es tan hermoso...

Aunque al final parece ser compensado todas esas dificultades y enojos con el aplauso del publico y la felicitacion de tus maestros.

  • just beautiful and very enjoyable.....in a half lit room alone.

  • AWEEEESOME!

  • Great touch, he has great control on the key board.

  • me encantan las progresiones de esta pieza son muy misteriosas

  • This piece is really impressive. It is beautiful, elegant, marvellous, I just cant describe it of how good this piece is.

  • so have i, but this isn't rubinstein or pollini so give him a chance.

  • wow i really like your interpretation. It is one of the best and I heard many of them! 5*****

  • as for me only the first page of the song is hard then its ok

  • from the technical perspective, that's correct. but from a musical perspective, the pages that follow are very difficult.

  • What exactly do you mean with "a musical perspective"?

  • such as interpretation. crescendos, pianos, fortes, sforzandos. When I say technically I mean, well, technique. lol.

  • Лучший из всех. Этого пианиста надо записать и передавать в виде радиосигналов для поиска других цивилизаций. Самая лучшая визитная карточка Земли.

  • Noturno

    tão bela,

    tão bela, tão bela

    preciso recuperar as partituras

parabéns a quem botou isso aqui

    é lindo d+

  • ah, im watching it again.

  • i wpuld like to know what frame of mind chopin was in. i am not a musician but my interpretation of this piece great work is that of a lamenting person whose heart is screaming in agony.thank you dorian gray,i love this.

  • ha ha i listened to this cbecause i needed help on the 20 against 6 part =D

  • absolument magnifique bravo......

j'apprends ce morceau mais je ne suis pas au bout de mes peines !!!

  • i really do agree this piece is sooo hard!! well im learning nocturne op.55 no.1 and that sounds easy but is hard, this sounds hard so i cant imagine how hard it really is great playing that was amazing :)

  • it's ok actually, it's the 20 against 6 part near the end that really pissed me off, i actually sat at my piano for 3 quarters of an hour trying to get it right. that part sound amazing, though =D ( 5:20 )

  • yeah that bit is hard, the whole nocturne is hard to me, such a lovely piece though, i'm stuck on the nocturne op 55 no1 and its on the 3rd page im soo near to completing it i'm having a mental block! ive only just learnt how to read music so im jumping in at the deep end lol

  • man, that must be scary. doing a chopin nocturn with no guidance O.o

  • agree !!

  • i no :S i don't know if its a bad idea because i don't have have any guidance, but really wanted to learn it so thought i would give it a go, would you say Chopin nocturnes are one of the harder pieces to learn? because this is my first piece that i'm learning, i dont have much knowledge of sheet music

  • oh, it's fine to teach yourself a song (personally, i find songs that i discover and practice by myself much more enjoyable). with chopin's nocturns, i think it's more important to listen to yourself and wake up to your own mistakes (unlike what im doing right now D=). it's easy to find the feeling of nocturns, though. they're really emotional (hence the romantic period ;))

  • yeah i like learning it myself too and that's what i'm worried about because someone cant tell me if i doing something wrong so i'm trying to make sure that i'm going through everything step by step and i'm past the dreaded 3rd page gosh that was hard! now on the 4th :D

  • So I have heard from other fellow musicians, this song can be equally as hard as Fantansie Impromptu Op. 66 by Chopin. I have this song in a sheet music and I would say that if you want to learn this song from the inside out, you have to leave your fingers on the keyboard literally. You have to spend a lot of time to perfect it. I havent tried it yet but from the looks of it, it is NOT a piece of cake to play. Just to give you a heads up.

  • Whatsoever... life proves every day that beauty cannot save the world from hatred & violence... alas :-(

  • That's because it's actually completely powerless. How could something's niceness stop a bullet? Ideas like 'beauty can save the world' is exactly why nothing's being done about saving the world: everybody's wasting their time wishing pretty things instead of doing the dirty work that needs to be done.

  • I think you musunderstand the philosophical meaning Dostoevsky puts into the notion of Beauty: it is not 'niceness' or 'prettiness'... Is Rafael's madonnas or Bach's music just pretty & nice? Is their purpose only to please & entrtain?

  • However he means 'beauty', he doesn't mean 'something capable of feeding the hungry and disarming the callous'. It's still not the deep thing people try to pretend it is.

  • Well... my English is not good enough to explain what I mean, but imagine that satisfying one's hunger may be not the highest priority of human existence. 'beauty will save the world' just means that beauty (just like love) can save the human in you - that what differes your from ever hungry animals. Ans indeed in this way it can save the world.

  • no it is not. Check e.g. wikiquote

  • I think the left hand could have been a bit more fluid sounding; I think the peice should sound like fog hovering above the ground, and the downbeat is too heavy in this recording to truely sound as fluid as it should.

  • This is really a very high level piece - certainly grade 7 or 8 or above - you need to see the sheet music to fully appreciate just how darn hard it is - the hands are totally independent of each other - if you want to really challenge yourself try the Prelude No 4 - that's just impossible!

  • Sorry, I mean Prelude no 3, no 4 is actually manageable!

  • what level of piano is this piece???????????????

  • what piano level would this one be?????

  • I`d love to know what would happen if Chopin not passed away with 39 years¡¡¡ marvelous art¡¡

  • That was beautiful.

Learning this song is at the top of my list of things to do before I die.

  • Wow! Fantastic! Thank you so much for the upload!
