@DragTas Modern Italian tenors, I forgot to add. Caruso or MDM were great but their art is lost. The good Italian method went on living in the States but in Italy it died out. Fisichella has a thin, constricted voice and probably he is using amplification.

My only criticism is that, to my ears, he rushed quite a few phrases when compared to the interpretations of Pavarotti or Lauri-Volpi. That could just be my taste because vocally it is just beautifully sung!

¿ No creen que la interpretación de Lauri Volpi en su registro para la RCA, porque también la grabó

Chiunque è a conoscenza della tecnica perfetta di Fisichella..dei suoi suoni tutti riposti perfettamente in maschera..dello squillo potente che si sente soprattutto dal vivo e che molte registrazioni limitano..i suoi suoni di passaggio "aperto coperto" si rifanno alla vecchia scuola come tutta la sua tecnica e l'omogeneità dei suoni è evidente nel suo canto....

Penso però sia esagerato e ingeneroso criticare Rockwell Blake come lei ha fatto: Blake ha tecnica raffinatissima, fiati sensazionali, un accento sempre convincente e, a dispetto di un timbro che a molti incresce, un gioco di colori fantastico che gli consente di emergere anche nel repertorio francese e protoromantico italiano. @AleBro83 Io non amerò l'arte, ma lei non ama la teoria e il solfeggio, visto che esalta una cantante che, strepitosa voce a parte, non riusciva nemmeno ad andare a tempo con l'orchestra. Concludo dicendo che questo odioso e sgarbato scambio di pareri l'ha incominciato lei..quindi la smetta di fare il risentito e ammetta serenamente che Pavarotti è stato il cantante più dotato e meno musicale del Novecento. Sia meno netto e più obiettivo coi suoi miti canori: è sintomo di intelligenza.

Oh yes he is a lyric tenor very clear tenor voice....Pavarotti, Corelli, Di Stefano was tenors but they had a very very special color in their voice...we hear an aria and we say ''yes is Pvarotti...'' etc.

This is very good!! not a corelli or pavarotti, but a truly wonderful lyrical, excellently controlled voice. Perfect for this role. I agree - this tenor is much too unknown, but this is how record companies and promoters work.

I heard this very performance on NPR during my sophomore year in college and taped it from the air. I had no idea that it had been video taped. What a nice surprise!!! I have been a huge fan of Fisichella for over 20 years. He is simply the best tenor in this type of music...too bad he isn't better known in the U. S.

voz potente,aguda,clara,brillante .Buen fraseo,que evidencia escuela detras de su ejecucion y curiosamente totalmente desconocido al menos para mi. He escuchado la misma aria y en Youtube hay no menos de 8 que he escuchado y todas me parecen de gran merito (cada quien con su voz reforzada por la técnica) y de añadido la pasión al cantar.

Debemos celebrar que Youtube permite ver y escuchar estas interpretaciones. Mi generacion solo escuchaba radio y algunos discos.

2ManyCs knows tenors. In fact, he has one of the most beautiful voices you will ever hear. I only recently stumbled upon Fisichella and can only think of a few tenors I enjoy more. Very few.
