  • *im probs guna sound stupid here but* do you have to connect this via house phone? because the one i have now in my family home has to for some strange reason, im thinkign of saving up for this because im moving rooms, and i want a great gaming exsperience because right now im lucky to get a one or two bar in a call of duty game, plus internet on a hole is terrible, thanks in advance please reply, take care

  • @BRODYALEXANDER78 internode

  • This or the dgn3500?, I need help :(

  • would be a great router if you could get Gmail to work with it

  • Good video guys, will definitely have a think about purchasing one of these, I need a replacement for my crappy router ;)

  • is it good for playing online like call of duty do u get 4 green bars?reply

  • @THEVENOM0920PR this all depends on the host of who is hosting the game, how good their connection (especially upload data rate) is, how good your internet connection is and how far away you are from the host. the router is great and i generally get really good connect as long as i connect to adelaide hosted servers. port forwarding the game's online ports helps make NAT's open (which is what i have done) which can improve, but basically 4 bars really is determined by a lot of things. thanks.

  • @GamingTechReviews Thanks man does the netgear has DSLcompatible

  • @THEVENOM0920PR Well, I'm pretty sure it is. It works with ADSL, ADSL 2 and ADSL 2+ so DSL would work too, assuming it also connects via a telephone connection (which I'm pretty sure it does). I would consult the NETGEAR website, but most likely it's supported. Thanks.

  • someone please advise me if I should by this or not, thanks!

  • why who even uses ADSL anymore

  • @maccahemp haha, people in australia, in particular adelaide who have rubbish internet like ADSL.

  • @GamingTechReviews Good point my uncle lives in australia and he also admits that

But i also got to admit that this wireless wireless router looks pretty cool

  • will it work with adsl 1 ?

  • does it work on ps3

  • JUNK.

  • Basically...basically, basicallly.....BASICALLY!!! ( he says it alot in this video! Loll)

  • Nice lighting.

  • I got 17ms with the same router the blue LEDs at the top lite up the whole room at night.

  • does it have WPS button?

  • Is the range good for this router? I need to update from my wireless G router but im not stuck on which Wireless N router to buy.

  • @TheFeather95 The range is brilliant, I have a 2 story house and the range even reaches any sheds outside. I can still get signal about 2 house around the house.

  • @xXLouisXx1 You need to set the Default DMZ Server (Advanced section, then WAN Setup) to the IP Address of the computer you are using to forward the ports on. Then add the ports you want forwarded in the Port Forwarding section, then go to Services and add the port services, then finally go to Firewall Rules and add in the services to the firewall rules with the server IP address. I will probably do a video on port forwarding for all Netgear routers.

  • does it work on ipods/iphones

do you have to pay monthly or free but still pay for your DSL

  • does it work on ipods/iphones

  • @TheLuis8771 Yes, of course, the WiFi supports any device that supports Wireless B, G or N, in which all of the iPod's, iPad's and iPhone's do.

  • @GamingTechReviews it beacause my neighbor has a cisco router and i tried to get on it n i tried to log on to facebook and it told me "sorry this router does not support this device"

  • hi. is this router good for watching video streaming online?

  • netgear n750 is the best ...

  • will this support Verizon dsl?

  • @davy463musicplayer i live in australia so i would have no clue. i understand though that verizon network uses a different technology to ATnT and those carriers that you are used to. this is an ADSL2+ compatible router (and ADSL1 and 2 backwards compatible). to connect it to the internet it uses a phone line plug (RJ40 i think it is or something similar)

  • hey man can you tell me how this thing is with ps3 or xbox. i need it to be able to let the nat become open. hence the reason me changing my setup to this.

  • @stip27 I play games on PC (MW2, black ops etc.) and my NAT type is set to open all the time. usually this depends on your ISP opening the required ports for the game, sometimes it also depends on the router, in which this case the router supports NAT type as open. i recommend using the 2.4GHz frequency with Wireless N at 300mbps, as this runs best with ps3 and xbox. i have a ps3 and it works great using the router.

  • How much does this cost?

  • loved the shot of the back ahaha

  • Thanks for showing me your router. Thought you were going to show how to hook it up.

  • Is there any way of changing modulation settings on this router? coz im having trouble finding it. Just want to make sure if there are any options in configuration GUI?

  • can you use the modem and the router at the same time? for example: use the lan connetion to browse the web and at the same time use the wireless connection to get wifi on ur phone? (kind of a wierd way to ask, but i wasnt really sure how to word it)

  • i have this router its starting to lag and heat up is there a off button?

  • dude it wont work on my computer can u make a setup video???

  • Hi i was wondering if you can tell me anything about the 5ghz band. I also have this router and im using 2.4 ghz at the moment and due to alot of equipment in my home im experience alot of interence, its nothing to be over concerned about when surfing the net but playing only games it can be anoying, is the 5ghz likely to make a diffrence in this situation?

  • anybody does this router work well i just bought one online and should be getting it soon i just want to know cuz if not ill return that shit

  • CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHY IN THE HELL I CONSTANTLY HAVE THE NEED TO RESET MY ROUTER (taking the plug out then plug it back in) JUST TO MAKE IT FUNCTIONAL?? ITS FUSTRATING.

  • do you know how fast the upload/download speed is per sec?

  • hahahah i have a better mouse than you :P

  • just bought one they are the best router ive had up to day.. thumbs up

  • hey do i need a phone line connection or can i connect it to the modem i have? plz answer back i need to know if spending 150 dollars is worth it

  • @CLEVELTECH Thanks for commenting

  • @GamingTechReviews

Does this router support gigabit Ethernet? I'm looking to move up from 10/100 on my DSL modem. (2 wire)

    Thanks!

  • @CLEVELTECH thats good, haven't updated my firmware yet, strange u say about the customer service, I've found it quite good. Thanks for

  • This unit is very good, but DO NOT upgrade to version 48 of the firmware. Stay with version 42 instead. The reason being is when I upgraded to version 48, every time I connected my network usb drive, the router/modem crashes causing inability to access the unit''s web-based browser interface, and losing internet connection completely until it is rebooted.

The latest version of firmware/software is very buggy. Netgear's customer service is terrible.

  • Does this modem work with att, or what internet do you have.

  • @sergio89100 ive got adsl2+ in australia. i connect the modem through a telephone line. im not exactly sure whether u can do that in america. gamingtechreviews.

  • @sergio89100 yes it will you just have to log the router in to you internet subscription. if you don't know your password, you'll only use it once or twice so its easy to forget, call up your is[

  • @sergio89100 america doesnt have ADSL2+

they only have DSL but there's is faster because they have a better system.

  • this piece of shit is TERRIBLE! I have 200 ping on TF2!!! I can't even play BC2!!! DONT BUY THIS! IT DISCONNECTS EVER 3 SECONDS!

  • @negativespace261 lol its not the router its ur crappy internet

ive got tf2 and it works fine. i get pings less than 50.

  • @negativespace261 Are you in a 2 floor home? Where is the router? I have a 2 floor house & the router is up stairs while my Wii is down stairs, up stairs right down the hall from the router is a WiFi Blu-Ray player with netflix, never a problem. Does not matter were I am in the house, outside or in the basement w/ my Blackberry or lap top I have no problem with the web or netflix. I also have the Netgear 3400 not the 3300, the 3400 is made for multi floors. So you might have the wrong one.

  • @Avatarblackwolf well there is another thing - the computer im on is not directly connected to the router. We have a one story house and we have a total of three computers that run off of that one router. Even at that, when im the only one here and the other computers are off I still only get meh connection. I got better on my old 4 year old router. But yeah im not 100% positive on the exact model it is, as it may be a worse version of this.

  • Excellent review, mate. I just ordered this product from ebay to replace my bricked Linksys WAG160N. I sincerely hope Netgear is a more reliable brand, since my Linksys Modem Router died when I was updating it's firmware (it wasn't working properly and was overheating anyway).

Hope I'll be as satisfied as you are. Greetings from Spain.

  • @Wakanover i have a netgear wndr3700 or whatever and it keeps dropping big time

  • @whitestar111 shit happens

  • It's ROOTER, not ROWTER

  • How good is the wireless at HD streaming? What's the speed for wireless?

  • dude... i swear to god if you say 'um' one more time i'll hunt you down and kick you... but otherwise a good review

  • so if i buy this i wont need that piece of crap of a modem that aT&t sent me?

  • @5teelPulsE I understand you would be from America, considering AT&T. I unfortunately don't know how America runs with Internet, although if America uses ADSL, ADSL2 or ADSL2+ then yes, you would be able to use this modem router and ditch your AT&T one.

  • @5teelPulsE If you buy this you will smash that POS Motorola att modem lol. I just bought this beast from Best Buy to replace my router/att modem and I couldn't be more happier. I pay for the fastest dsl att has and their modem never delivered the 6Gb/s. On a speed test with their modem I was getting speeds around 4.95-5.2Gb/s. I did a speed test with this Netgear unit and I am getting 8.12Gb/s. Huge improvement for movie streaming and youtube vids never have to buffer while I watch now :)

  • @Ros3w00d i see u must live in america. internet in australia is shit, trust me lol

  • @GamingTechReviews Yea I live in america but I live in the "bush" as you call it I believe lol. Lots of people have cable/ fiber optic service but where I live we can only get dsl. Download speed on dsl is fine its the upstream that I don't like. 512k is barely enough for gaming and it causes me to die to noobs in FPS games :(

  • I have a cable modem (not DSL). Will this work with that sort of a connection, or is it DSL only? Thanks for the review!

  • @scottiemn By DSL I can only assume you mean ADSL. You can bridge the two routers (one ethernet cable in your modem, one in the new router), although you need to configure different DHCP stuff. The built-in modem in this router is only for ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+ (DSL range). However if you decide to bridge the modem and router, just message me I may be able to help! GamingTechReviews.

  • @GamingTechReviews I have a 20mbs broadband connection that comes to my cable modem, then from that I have a LAN cable going to my Belkin wireless router. I'm wanting to replace the router part (don't need the modem end, and it's only ADSL anyway). I have 2 PS3s hooked up (one LAN, the other wireless) to the router, and it bottlenecks a bit when they are both playing online. I've heard this router might be better than the Belkin, but don't know if it works with broadband. Thanks!

  • @scottiemn Yes, I have a PS3 hooked up via Wireless and it works pretty well. Mostly I only game on PC, but I don't experience any lag whatsoever. You say this router may be better than yours. Because this router has Dual-Band with Wireless N, it is less conjested, meaning the Wireless N can fit more devices and it will work better and faster.

  • @GamingTechReviews Sorry, i think you already answered my question, I just didn't read closely enough. So I can bridge the two just fine, but the modem won't be useful. If that's correct, I think I'll go with this one. You don't have a PS3 (or two?) hooked up to yours do you? Hoping it's a good buy for that purpose.

  • Hey good vid.

i search for a router wich has umts/3g integration,,, wich router you think i choosse?

  • @TheSoftwareunlock Billion have an extensive range of routers. Go to Billions web site and they have a few 3G routers that allow you to plug in a 3G stick with a SIM for Internet. I don't know much about this unfortunately, although I myself have a 3G stick for out of home use and it works fine in this sort of situation.

  • if u buy this do u still need a seperate modem

  • @mancilla903 No, the Netgear DGND3300 includes a built-in ADSL2+ modem for internet, so it's basically an all-in-one model. GamingTechReviews.

  • You can hold the blue dome for a few seconds, This should turn the blue light off :-)
