What's there to know? When's the last time he won? The most powerful engine always wins. This year, RCR EGR's won every single race here. It's always like that, and it's no coincidence it was the same people who made the engines Jr won all but 2 of his races with.

The driver has to have some modicum of capability. But this race is 100% about which engine has more HP, for obvious reasons. Jr shows how a driver error can cost a good finish. He admits this, but you deny it.

So strange to hear Dale Jr fans get so upset like this. Screaming and cussing and generally acting like trash. Jr is not very good at driving. I suspect I could drive a cup car better than he can if I had a moderate level of experience and the tremendous wealth Jr has.

Nascar used to be a sport of normal hard working men who built their career through hard work. Now it's a sport of guys whose parents put a few million into their hobby. The soul is gone.

JR led a very low number of laps in a race few led many laps in. He finished very poorly because he made an error. He's won mostly when he car is drastically superior to the rest, such as DEI's old RP advantage, or his far better Busch team than 95% of the field.

I think Jr obviously has some degree of skill to have won a handful of bona fide hard races. And that skill has faded over the past few years. You like him because he's a humble guy, not because he performs.

Furthermore, I'm not bashing Jr at all. It's not his fault he isn't some Tony Stewart or AJ Foyt. He has tried his best, had moderate success sometimes, and good for him. It's his absolutely rapid pack of fans, who appear to be unable to discuss his performance fairly, who I am bashing. I like Jr just fine without pretending he is particularly capable. I think he lost his mojo in that Corvette fire, but was never awesome.

I think you need to look at the point standings. That's how this is typical Jr. His performance has not shown greatness lately. He's outclassed by teams with 1/4th the budget and without his awesome crew chief (a proven winner).

It takes great skill to bump draft without making mistakes, or to pit perfectly every time, or to communicate car balance. Jr simply isn't in that class. In fact, his performance has been terrible for years. Mcgrew would win with a different driver.

@DTownzz well first off, this is Jr's 2nd bad year of all his time of racing. He won 15 races his first 5 years. 2003, 2004,2006, Jr was a championship contender. 2008 his first year at hendrick he was in the top 5 in points all year but didnt do shit in the chase. and you mentioned tony stewart. Jr has finished in front of stewart in points what I think 3 or 4 times. and has finished in front of gordon before in points in 2003.he would have won the championship in 04 if it wasnt for himcrashing

You are pretty crazy to suggest Jr is better than Tony Stewart, a champion in many forms of motorsport and drastically superior to Jr if you compare their careers without some completely insane cherry picking.

You're wrong and clearly know it based on how you dance around facts. Saying Jr would have won a cup but for a crash? The other drivers would also have done better if you canceled out their bad days.

Jr notes his own standard for success each year. He has failed 8 out of 10 times.
