I have mine, using at a global conference this week to take notes, check e-mail, surf the web, build my con schedule, etc... When people found out I "didn't" have an iPad, everyone wanted to see/hold it. Best purchase in years, I'll start leaving my Windows 7 Thinkpad tablet at home when I travel.
Looks like a great tablet! One question though, what kind of sensitivity does the pen let you use. For instance on the HTC Flyer you can't write particularly small with accuracy. How is that on the ThinkPad Tablet?
I think the business oriented features are really the selling point, I never quite understand why people want an ipad when they have got an iphone? But this one, give me a reason to get mobile broadband! My laptop is just too heavy comparing to that!
@limbu5400 Fingerprint scanner can be bypassed with scotch tape and a photocopy of the fingerprint. Not very secure. I'm glad many companies are finally removing the silly fingerprint scanning from their laptops. It's useless for security.
@nanomyou5 just need it for convenience for swipes when opening mail, documents, or videos, esp when holding a tablet with one hand. nope, it cannot be bypassed like you said, just tried it.
Can someone tell me if there will be a HDMI-to-VGA Adapter as some other tablets have? This sounded unusual to me, too, but obviously it is possible. An usefull feature when using the tablet for presentations.
Does thes tablet come with or is compatible with advanced drawing/painting software? It seems it would make a sweet drawing tablet, and far more versatile than a Cintiq
I am almost certainly going to spring for one of these. I currently own an HP piece of crap convertible tablet with negligible battery life, abysmal viewing angles, and propensity to break if you merely LOOK at it wrong. I never should have switched from Lenovo.
I own an iPad, and it's GREAT- but the stylus is what lures me. I love inking on my computers, and I just can't see Apple EVER getting behind that experience properly. Only real competition for me is Lenovo's windows tablet in fall
@ForPromethious Thanks for the nice words--we dig the stylus too. Choice of input types is what it's all about. No official date yet on our Windows 7 Tablet (IdeaPad P1) but ought to be sometime in October -- stay tuned here and on our Facebook page, OK? Regards...
The August launch date is almost cretin and I think it's just a us release date not sure about the rest of the world. Yes the pen can be used throughout ever thing that allows a pen input or not so yes you cod use in in word and other things. And it does have palm rejection so you can rest your palm on the screen.
It looks like it has palm rejection when using the stylus (Either that or his hand was floating just above the screen)... can anyone confirm or deny this?
Looks awesome...I love the pen functionality! About time my favorite company came out with a thinkpad tablet! Looks like I might have to own Lenovo/IBM product #6 when money allows!
Cool review Preston, precise and concise, a brief run down of the specs on the screen probably would help also, thanks

I have a 32gb microsd card. Can I use that sd card as a permanent HD for the tablet?

Why, oh why did you put a glossy screen on it?
This is a business tablet fer chrissakes.
We need to be able to view it outdoors, under harsh lighting and for hours at an end.
If we lost a little bit in finger gliding ability we'd be more than happy if the screen was matte.
Really, you had one *REALLY* big opportunity to separate yourself from *ALL* of the tablet makers in the world.
Matte screen for the next version, please Lenovo, please.
Other than that, looks like a killer tablet!

@nanomyou5 I'm sure there will be companies that provide a matte Anti-Glare screen protectors for this tablet
