Interesting how 'Hit me' still seems to get more airplay, yet whenever I talk to people about which song is best, they usually say this. Great live solo!
Watt-Roy! Chaz! ID! Charley! Mick! Davey!, Mick! Oh, bliss . . . One of the best musical evenings of my life: Cloudland Ballroom, maybe 1981, 2000 kindred spirits, the sprung floor pestering everybody to dance, sensi everywhere in the air as Norman pumped out the fattest, bounciest, biggest and baddest bass lines they'd ever heard . . . une monstre sacré if ever there was one . . .
Gawd bless 'em. I miss him badly. This is one of my favourite songs of all time......right back to when I first heard it, about August 1979. A timeless classic.
thanx man, the Blockheads are by far one of the greatest live bands around, and Ian , well there will never be another songwriter (lyric wise) like him. one of a kind.
"Cheddar chesse and pickle. The Vincent Motorsickle. Slap and tickle" How many other reasons to be cheerful do you need? Lord Upminster, you are sadly missed.
You will never need to know parts 1 & 2, skip the previous reasons, now it's already up to 3, as it's really great to be cheerful! (she says dancing to herself)

Excellent. Ian Dury and the Blockheads having fun with a turn of phrase and a rapper if ever there was one! Nothing naughty, really!
