  • @SleepingStormDreamer Wow - Thank YOU for the great comment! You'll be happy to know that this tune, now called "I Remember", is included on my new CD. Go to my website (listed above) for more info...

  • this low B flute and the melody you play has a certain sad sound, but also sweet. i like to shut my mind and hear and feel your playing. thank you

  • Thank YOU for making my day with such a heartfelt, beautiful comment! Many blessing to you. Peace ~ Bruce

  • And many blessing back to you Bruce. God bless and keep sharing the good vibes through your beautiful flutes friend. Peace. Jacob

  • oh my gosh as a young teen i have always loved native music it touch me because it remind me of my cat and dog max and brain so it made me cry bit because they passed away my dog had cancer and my cat got into antifreez from underneath the car but besides that .that was beautful THANKS:)

  • Very nice. Love that low sound. This is not for a rookie, right? What key should I start with? Also, do you give lessons on youtube? I'm sure you would be a very good teacher.

    Thank you. :-)

  • Thanks! The reach on the lowest hole of this flute is QUITE difficult, so you're right -not somethng to start out on! Try an A or G, and you can't go wrong. The lower keyed flutes are certainly harder to play, but having large hands really helps. I COULD do some videos, but try Odell Borg's videos first - use the search box above, and you'll see his Native American flute tutorial series. Also, check out Karnalis' flute tips. He's quite a good teacher as well. Whatever you do, have fun playing!

  • Actually, since all the flutes of this style are played the same they are basically identical in the level of difficulty. Lower flutes need more air and less pressure. Higher flutes, just the opposite. It doesn't matter if you are a rookie as long as your hands fit the flute. For example, my first flute was a Low Whistle in the key of C. BIG reach, but no harder to play than a smaller one.

  • That flute has a beautiful voice, and you play it well. Thanks for the music!

  • You're most welcome... and thank YOU for the wonderful comment! Actually, Laughing Crow (Richard Maynard) deserves the lion's share of the credit because he created this beautiful instrument.

  • I'm thinking "Somewhere over the rainbow" would sound slamming on this :) Hint :)

  • Well, I agree, it would probably sound awesome if I could get it to sound the way it does in this video. However, the truth is that SOTR on 'the Bear' would not be a pleasant experience for either you or me because it's quite difficult to get any of those high notes on this one. I'd have to use so much air pressure that the results just wouldn't sound very nice at all. That said, it does seem to be possible on my new Lauging Crow low C, so don't abandon all hope just yet... ;)

  • I don't mean to be too personal but I'm thinking you have a large number of flutes :). I need to get a better paying job! :). Hope you are well and enjoying life. Your videos are great.

  • This is absolutely beautiful!
