The song in the background is "Fall On Me" by the Pousette-Dart Band. It's on the "Amnesia" album, which is a great album that came out in 1977. Listen to the title song, "Amnesia" here on youtube. It's kinda funny, in a sick sort of way. And "Yaicha", which is also here, is a really good song.
That's what Hurley and Charlie would be doing if they had met off the island, listening to records and probably smoking some bud. Then Sayid the cranky roommate would walk in and kill the buzz.
It's a fictional band in the Lost universe. I find it quite amusing that they have this tiny references to them. Y'know Star Wars has the cantina band and they have made a long backstory to the band. (Their name is actually Figrin Dan and the Modal Nodes or something). This is something like that. The producers has made up a backstory for this band too.
They're fictional, or at least a figment of the imagination of the producers. The only references about them that can be found anywhere on the net are those that refer to them in Lost. I even looked at allmusic, and there's nothing there about them, and they have really obscure bands there too.
I just watched the newest lost podcast, at the end it said 'Be sure to check out itunes after you hear Geronimo Jackson in an upcoming episode. In addition to the version of the song you may find one or two other treats while you are there' , im guessing the song will be played on episode 09 'Namaste'. So...yeah...check itunes after episode 09 is shown. :)
the donkeys are a real band and they made one of their songs "excelsor lady" from their album "living on the other side" different for "Dharma lady."
