  • @upplsuckimcool16 engineers are pretty smart people LOL

    smarter tha politicians

  • I find automotive suspension engineering to be a fascinating subject. I simulate suspension modifications using GTA 4. Such as sway bar stiffness, center of gravity, virtual roll center, compression damping rates, rebound damping rates, chassis stiffness and of course the weight of the vehicle.

  • Its an amazingfield and lots of fun :) You can extract quite alot of speed from simply stiffening the chassis of the car, and also running the right sized tires.

  • In Formula One it was because of a weight saving. In cars, it could be for fuel efficiency, or to give as much control as possible to the computer because the computer is able to react faster than a human can, if, for example, an anticollision radar is fitted.

    That is my theory.

  • That could be a poibility for newer cars with impact sensors like the new Mercedes.

Im thinking its fora simpler purpose though, lots of these cars have cruize control systems, it would be easier to setp CC if you have drive by wire

  • Drive by wire is also used in large Airplanes,
