For starters, any scientist would have trouble stating that Jesus even existed. If your book reviews the meditation pracrices of Jesus, well... I can see how scientific you already are. I oppode materialism but equating the scientific method with materialism is a sharade that is only necessary to justify this cRusade of yours. It serves no other purpouse because it is not real.
No. But if yes, do you have any good arguments or credible evidence to the contrary? Notice that no matter how long ago this was posted by you, you are accountable for what you say, or ought to be, in any scientific sense whatsoever.
Phenomenology and introospection development at a higher level that non-trained ones is conducive to new discoveries about the nature of consciousness.Thusfar it has been determined that the body is one with the mind, but the ego is not the same as consciousness, the soul is not the same as cosciousness. But only from the gross perspective is there an illusion of duality between subject and object, but from the perspective of consciousness itself, there is neither difference nor confused oneness.
@lyntonio Scientific materialism is the metaphysical assumption that consciousness is a property of brain function alone and that all experience can be quantified. It is unproven - no one has "seen" consciousness - but treated as fact by many scientists. Taken to its logical extreme, scientific materialism would even deny the existence of emotions because they cannot be directly measured, only their neurological correlates, which is not the same thing.
@squamish4244 I know what you are getting at, and agree with the mysteries of consciousness, but I have to disagree with the logical extreme, scientist are measuring emotions all the time with mri machines and the like, thanks
@lyntonio Yes, but no one can measure consciousness itself - that is, the means by which we perceive the world. It would be like trying to look at your face without a mirror.
