  • well... that was... insanely AWESOME

  • HEY IS THIS YOUR WIFE? I noticed that dragon princess was your wife and this woman looks similar. Anyway awesome work.

  • Amazing... Though, I prefer paintings that look less realistic. A painting that looks like a painting, yet looks like a person and not a scribble. You have wonderful talent... use it well.

  • It took you 4 hours to do this, It would take me 4 years.

  • if i had his talent, i would fap to my own creations.

  • if this is for practice what is your best?

  • hi, can i borrow your skill?

  • Painting is wonderful but woman is pretty poor ..

  • This makes my pictures taken with my camera look fake...

  • Wth, it's more realistic than me

  • Just when I think it already looks like an actual photo of a person

they go and make it look even more like an actual photo of a person

  • THIS LOOKS SHOPPED! I CAN TELL FROM TEH PIXELS AND FROM HAVING SEEN MANY SHOPS IN MY TIME!

  • @Username636 Making comments like this make you look like an idiot, since you could just look at any of Chris's other speed painting videos and confirm he does indeed paint all of them,no Photoshop at all. He is an amazing and accomplished artist.

  • @a500603497384 Sorry, you have no idea what i meant... the whole picture IS kind of photoshopped (look at the second top comment ;)). "looks shopped i can tell from teh pixels" is a famous internet meme...!

  • Wtf dude that's an awful photoshop... I mean you still left in all the flaws of that model like her pores, marks and dark circles... If you photoshop a model she should look flawless!

  • @MoonishDesire he's painting a portrait, not editing a photograph, so making her "flawless" is not the point here...

  • @MidNight91000 I was being sarcastic... As in I was amazed at how he would make the skin look so natural with all it's flaws included.

  • @MoonishDesire oh, sorry, sometimes is hard to pick up the sarcasm when it's written :P

  • I swear this guy should start a own porn indusry :) With nake picture on famous girls like megan fox and katy perry and things like that :D

  • @Switchnr1

it would be insanely successful but the painters would be sued tremendously.

  • @feny8 True :(

  • cant believe 5 loosers disliked it!!! :(

  • @FearlessLT pretty sure that's his wife....

  • This whole entire pic is photoshopped

  • Wow! In twenty minutes you did what I did in four hours... And I certainly can't take it that far! :D Great!

  • What if this person doesn't even exist? Then you just created a completely new person...! *Le gasp*

  • There is nothing bad about any of your speed paintings

  • oie de maravilla!! the best of the best, you are my idol !!

  • You just stole this ladies soul mister!

  • wow..very nice work!!..i hope you could teach me some of your techniques..i'm still practicing though..^_^

  • Please cgsbgs check my speed painting and say me why my painting aren't realist :'( :'( i want your skill !!

  • wtf...that's inhuman realism...

  • HOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • impresionante!!!!!!!

  • damn son you're a Beast!!

  • Sr for ask this , I am just a newbie :D

Why you draw Black and White first ??

and how you can paint color like that ???

    Sr for my English !

    Thanks

  • @hoangtram905 Although I'm not Chris, I can fill you in on these:

The picture was painted in black and white first because it's easier to get values correct when you don't have color in the way.

The color was painted in one of several ways, I'm not sure which- Either via painting color into a layer set to overlay or color blending mode, or with a brush set to color or overlay mode. Use whichever works best for you.

  • please can you share me your brushe on megaupload ? since 3 years i practice digital painting to have your skill ! :D

  • So glad I've subscribed.

  • MY....GOD

  • great work! did u use a skin texture brush?

  • that girl looks awefully a lot like someone I've seen on tv years ago ._. maybe it was a show or a movie either way...you did an awesome job love your speedpaint video's!

  • Haha, If I'd turned in something like that to my 4th year art exam my teachers brains would have blown all over the room. I don't know how many times I've said this already, But I'll keep saying it, Uh-May-Zing.

  • how exactly can you tell the distance between the eyes and other facial landmarks on the first try, or have you done it so much that its became second nature?

  • Teach me please? :D

  • Okey... wow... i think this painter was born and holding an Original photoshop CD in his hand..... Amazing

  • TEŞEKKÜR EDERİM,BU GÜZEL VE ÖZGÜN ÇALIŞMANIZ İÇİN- MESUT ERAY-FOTOGRAFÇI- ADANA-TÜRKİYE-

  • Waooo she looks extremely like to my cousin sister Grisel, her hair, nose, blue eyes, lips and color skin is very similar… Really I'm surprised. GOOD JOB! Really she's not my sister cousin?

  • i have a question i really hope you answer,

do you think its easier to do black and white then add color? or just go right into color?

  • beautiful painting

  • i hate u.

  • its just sick to see how good ppl are at this......

  • WOW O-O

  • omg what Rembrandt, Durer, or Degas could do with these tools!!! Just to name a few.

Great work Criss, and considering you can get this printed on canvas anyways why not paint digital, your brushes wil never wear out and if you really want the smell of linseed oil and turpentine you can always open a can of each and leave them near your desk.

  • Are you kidding me? You are insane. I thought I was pretty good til I saw this

  • just like a orginal photo ... amazing, you are the best. I regret i can't draw like this... Maybe you will learn me ? ;-)

    sorry about my english

  • it would be very amazing if u made a car and put it up

  • Her left eye is a little dark and her right ear needs more detail.

But holy sht I can't even draw nearly that good! Good job! XD

  • If you could give one tip for improving one's skill in realism painting, what would it be?

  • it seems your glazing over a monochrome underpainting with the layer properties set to color or hue.

Do you find this the easiest way to build a painting in photoshop. Or have you also tried a more direct "richard schmid" type of approach, where you just go for the color and shapes all at once. Which do you prefer?

  • OOMGG <33

  • Are you one of those people who are hired to fix women's faces on tv commercials so that they look more attractive? One day I hope to be 1/2 as good, but it will take time i know.

  • you should do textures for GTA 5

  • Que impressionante! Parabéns!!!

  • I am still trying to get my jaw back in place.

    A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

  • wow!

  • I can't do that! thumbs up for a real artist!

  • Amazing! =0

  • Great work! I love your stuff:)

Do you sample the color from the original photograph or do you eyeball it?

  • WTF? Thats a photo right? o_o

  • this is amazing! I showed this to my dad, and let me just say that he just finds this amazing art impossible, hehe :)

every picture i click "like" i wish i could click "love!" ;)

  • I'll bet he ends up with a product that is far superior to the photograph! It would be fun to see them side by side. Thank you for sharing your work this way. I'm thinking of investing in a Wacom tablet and have found your videos to be extremely helpful!

  • why dont u just take a photo from the photo? lol

  • i know your secret - you sold your soul for this talent))))) wish you to make your talent absolete))

  • pha ... i can do this too ... at least till 0:25 :D

  • wow! it's so perfect that i though it was a photo at the end o.o

  • wow seems like real

  • Outstanding tutorial......

I only wish you would follow up and explain your movements. Like when you go back to an area, leave it, than go back, please tell me more about the details!

  • what resolution do u work on? 600 dpi?

your work is lovely as usual :)

  • Perfect

  • This is simply amazing... it almost looks like a real photo! I am also an artist myself, but not as nearly as good as you are of course! As with all artists, its in my nature to see mistakes - the right side of the forehead looses shape a bit doesn't it?

Still, even the best artists in the world can't paint like you can!

  • So close to perfection it brings tears to my eyes.

    Respect!!!!!

  • how can u think this is fake when it is done before your own eyes

well if u believe that fossil fuels were put there to test our faith then u can pretty much believe anything

  • I'm not sure whether to think this is real or fake... It's so good it scares me O_O

  • defeats the purpose of a camera lol. 5/5

  • I hope this guy gets paid a good wage!!!

  • I'm sitting here watching this and I still don't know how you do it...

  • i know exactly how he does it, hes been practiceing scince he was four or something and just wont stop!

  • Practice makes perfect

  • Hubba-hubba--WHAT?!!

This is awesome! He's an AMAZING artist!

  • You are not human bro, you're the fucking God of universe.

  • holy shiz youre talented

  • this looks exactly like a picture taken!

if i tried on the computer it would probably end up looking like a deformed dog/cow

  • I have to ask-------YES, I know, I´ve been asking quite a bit , but I really can´t help it, I feel so inspired---------but why do you start with a black and white construction here, whereas in the other you started using colour right from the start?

How do I know which colour to use as a shadow????????

  • Awesome indeed! People don't realize how difficult this is to do.

  • Come on! Why don't you tell us the truth? YOU ARE NOT A HUMAN!!!

  • photos doesn't look better than the design, congratulations!

    It's incredible

  • wow!

  • awesome!

  • First of all- investigate my channel a little further and you will indeed see traditional paints. Secondly, digital is more convenient... Especially when I am squeezing this stuff in between real work, and hardly have the time to get to involved in anything else where I need to set up cameras, environment etc.

  • You even bothered to answer this guy. You are really a great guy.

Awesome work by the way... as usual.

  • Because digital is better :D J/k, I always used to do pencil drawings, but after getting a Wacom I could never go back. I love this painting by the way, and in four hours, legendary mate, nice work :)

  • @xbr500cc I can understand, people always question when they see something unbelievably amazing.

  • Yes you does make money... indirectly. Its meant to attract costumers (portfolio). Many people like to hire artist who have great skills as to be able to make a realistic picture. The ability of an artist to create realistic portraits and such is considered to be an indication of the artist skills. After all realistic art not only requires a lot of time but also requires great skill to execute.

  • @ bhlesh: you have some point but you missed something, this is for himself and portfolio. If you wanted to make more money with realism, yours apply, but as this is for fun and portfolio piece, yours is not valid.

If practicing and improving skills to you is a waste of time, I'm not with you. Also most things done for fun is not done for its purposefulness but for the "'pointless" entertainment. It would be dull if you do things only if you need to.

  • amazing work man !! 5 stars!!

  • OMFGGGGGG this is the most amazing thing ive ever seen in my life. you are so talented!!! you should really make tutorials! again, you are fantastic! really great job!

  • Very impressive!

  • First off, you're VERY talented.

That said... photo realistic digital art seems like a waste of time. Why not just print off the photo? Seems pointless. Even if it's altered, you could just alter the photo and print it off.

Now other digital art like your dragons and stuff, can't be photographed, and therefore don't have this problem.

For photo realism, I prefer traditional media. It has more value in that regard.

For concept art, I prefer digital, because it allows so much more control.

  • yeah but he actually said in infos that it's strictly for practice.

  • That's what you call:

    "Picture Perfect" for sure!!!!

Your amazing!!! I envy your talent so much :)

  • i hate you.... but that's just the envy talking. So how bout you come over for dinner and teach me how to use my photoshop... i make a mean lasagna

  • pff...this is so awesome....

since when you draw? and also what kind off work do you got?

    5/5 ofc....

  • Hey i love your work..im an artist myself...i wanna putup some speed paitings but im lazy lol...one thing: the left side of here forehead... im sure you can se it

  • Actually, take a look at the video response. That "left side forehead" situation is addressed in that. Thanks for the kind words.

  • duude!! that's incredible! amazing! do you make tutorials?

  • hey, you're truley talanted! thanks a lot for charing this piece of art! I have a little dumb question... How do you record it? what program? greatful for answer. And bye the way, all you're dragon stuff is amazing!!

  • as usual, great!

  • this is a serious question. Do you have a job in art? Please answer back. And if you don't then, why not? You're a total inspiration for me.

  • Yep... I do.

  • omg..

  • think you could draw my gf.... naked???? lol ^^

  • LOL

  • It looks so amazing... but the womans haircut is not the prettiest *.~

  • you are 2 good

  • The woman whose portrait you are painting reminds me of the actress that plays Lucy Steele in the movie, "Sense and Sensibility". I have forgotten her name though. She also looks similar to Tonya Harding, the ice skater. You have a lot of talent.

I don't know if you did or will do a tutorial on painting with Photoshop, but you should. I am sure I am not the only one who would watch it! :-)

  • woww..

    its looks so real!

  • das is doch nur ein foto, was er dann langsam "verschlechtert" hat und dann rückwärts abgespielt!

  • woah!!! in the end it look EXACTLY like a photograph! you are i awesome, im gonna suscribe!! hey is is possible to do some photoshop tutorials??

  • scary, very talented but dont know if i like the idea that this is possible

  • Just perfect!!! Could you make a tutorial about painting the hair?? I have never seen such realism before

  • wow graet work

i miss music in the background ^^

  • I really like this one .

  • Crazy...you should be famous right now. FAMOUS!

  • WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing! The best painting I've seen so far!!

  • If I didn't see this being painted right before my eyes, I would have thought it was a photograph. You are AMAZING.

  • LOL there must be a woman out there that looks exacly like this. And when she sees this she'll be like - wtf?! how did he??!!

  • its his wife lol

  • You should found your own university. ^^

  • You have phenomenal skill! :D

  • HOW CAN YOU CREATE SUCH STUFF?

    <3

  • i love you man

  • AMAZiNG. Nice job. Your paintings are just the best!

  • I saw the dragons, sea monsters, wolfmen, and all that. But this by far is the most impressive. Unbelievable

  • but... why? the photo already exists ?_?

  • stop talking shit -_-

  • Like he said, Practise :) And as they say, Practise, makes perfect, and you cant deny hes got this pretty bang on perfect already :)

  • even if I've just seen the video...it's still UNBELIEVABLE to my eyes....fantastic job! I feel like I'm right in front of her...so REAL

  • good lord, its so realistic! you own by all means.

  • not to be a bit overly critical but doesn't her head look a bit bulbous.. i am not saying i could do better bec i seriously couldn't, just picked up on tht in the end

  • He's a witch!!

  • Fantastic!!!

  • It's called photo realism, and yes it is art!

  • It's probably one of the hardest art forms there are.

  • I wouldn't say that.

It's much harder (for me) to paint something of my own design instead of realistic things.

  • Are you sure you're human ?

  • nancy kerigan?

  • dude thats what i was thinking!

  • How the hell.

  • :O woow

  • How many layers do these pieces generally have?

  • 1-5 is what I usually use but I don't bother with different layer
