Almost every adult in Switzerland owns a gun. A much higher percentage of people own guns there than in the US, yet violent crime is almost non-existant there. I stated almost every adult in Switzerland owns a gun...this is because they are part of the Swiss Army (not a standing army). Most gun owners in the US have multiple guns (I believe the average is something like 7 guns per gun owner). Most Swiss gun owners only have 1 gun. Maybe you should check your facts so you don't sound like a moron.
Oh and most of the guns in Switzerland are assault rifles and semi-automatic handguns while in America the guns are mostly non-semiautomatic/non-automatic shotguns and rifles....and don't pass out wikipedia "statistics" as fact....another reason to lead me to believe you are a moron....try a reputable site to get your stats.

Thank you for showing that your argument is flawed by pointing out that half of adult Swiss own guns (many of the women do too). Only 38% of American households have guns....being generous this means around 30% of Americans own guns. I lived in Switerland for 6 months...you could walk into a store and buy a fully automatic assault rifle that was sitting in the display window in some Cantons! I've seen it with my own eyes. It's not the guns that are the problem...it's the culture.

The statement that no socialist movement has benefited people is wildly inaccurate - ladies and gentlemen I give you the 8 hour day and the weekend and end to child labour - trade unions are socialist movements after all. The Scandinavian nations all have elements of socialism - true social democracies rather than consumer democracies like the US and UK. Norway has more millionaires per capita than any other country. Denmark scores highest on social mobility.
All countries have lower crime, better mental health and life expectancy than the Angol-American economies of the US and UK. With the exception of Iceland all are expected to survive the financial crisis better too (according to the IMF). Good government is good for people. Small government = Katrina. No European country or even other developed country would have left its (poorest) citizens to drown and starve like that. The US needs new ideas and paranoid pioneer attitudes are old news.

Norway actually has less restrictions on business than the US (look at offshore drilling). So in some ways the US is more socialist than Norway. Many states in the US devote 1/3 or more of their budgets to welfare...the fed and country governments add to that. People that cannot afford healthcare get it free in the US (the news propoganda doesn't tell you this). A friend of mine had a baby and got state healthcare completely free...they even cover braces which Congress doesn't even get.

The amount of crime and violent crime has nothing to do with the number of people with guns in a country other than making would be criminals think twice about attacking someone. I stated almost every adult in Switzerland owns a gun...this is because they are part of the Swiss Army (not a standing army). Most gun owners in the US have multiple guns (I believe the average is something like 7 guns per gun owner). Most Swiss gun owners only have 1 gun. Thank you for showing that your argument is flawed by pointing out that half of adult Swiss own guns (many of the women do too). Only 38% of American households have guns....being generous this means around 30% of Americans own guns. I lived in Switerland for 6 months...you could walk into a store and buy a fully automatic assault rifle that was sitting in the display window in some Cantons! I've seen it with my own eyes. It's not the guns that are the problem...it's the culture.

Its both. The decriminalisation of drugs works fine in Holland (less teens smoke dope than in the UK). It Britain it wouldn't work in my opinion - our culture is too immature. No my argument is that a country with a mature culture can have liberal attitude to drugs and a liberal attitude toward guns like Holland like Switzerland. In immature cultures like the UK I think drug decriminalisation wouldn't work - the same way that in an immature culture like the US liberal drug laws are not working. A Danish man born poor is much more likely to become a millionaire than in the US. For most people the American Dream is a fantasy. All countries have lower crime, better mental health and life expectancy than the Angol-American economies of the US and UK. With the exception of Iceland all are expected to survive the financial crisis better too (according to the IMF). Good government is good for people. Small government = Katrina. No European country or even other developed country would have left its (poorest) citizens to drown and starve like that. The US needs new ideas and paranoid pioneer attitudes are old news.

Norway actually has less restrictions on business than the US (look at offshore drilling). So in some ways the US is more socialist than Norway. Many states in the US devote 1/3 or more of their budgets to welfare...the fed and country governments add to that. People that cannot afford healthcare get it free in the US (the news propoganda doesn't tell you this). A friend of mine had a baby and got state healthcare completely free...they even cover braces which Congress doesn't even get.

Not just that, but not all of these European countries had socialized health care. If you take Canada and the UK as an example, they had a higher life expectancy than us before they socialized. So attributing higher life expectancy with socialism is wrong.
