Weapons are used for self defense, which is healthy and normal. Just look into what happens when a population is disarmed and their rulers decide they need to die. (Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, ...) Defending yourself with appropriate tools is a human right. Watch the video "Innocents Betrayed", produced by Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership. The whole thing is on youtube.
try protection, self defense.preventing a tyrannical government from exterminating and entire race of people i.e.the Holocaust, or eliminating any group of people who have a dissenting government views!i.e Stalin, Mao,etc.sport and hunting, target shooting, some target shooters never use their guns to hunt!
A guns use is for target practice, competition shooting, hunting for food, home defense, defending of ones family, a militia in defence of our state, our nation, against our government going rogue and dozens more "legitimate" uses. Sorry but you may not like those legitimate uses but they are.

Of course they're used for killing, but what's wrong with that? If someone were to break into your home would you be worrying about weather shooting him is legitimate?
lets try drug control first ok ,whats that we cant stop illegal drugs, fn morons so if you took all Americans guns the drug dealers would still have em.
they do have a legitimate use other than "killing", entertainment. i would mush rather spend a sunny, warm Saturday afternoon in my backyard plinking with my rifles then sitting in my recliner watching tv. there is no reason to ban all guns because they are involved in crime. terrorists have put bombs in shoes, doesnt mean mine are going to blow up.
Look, it's as simple as this... there are people out there with guns. Some of them will kill you. You can either be a gun own and defend your self or you can be dead when some crack addict wants your pocket change. A guns use IS to kill. It's PROPER use is to kill the bastard who is trying to hurt your family. When it's either them or you, it's YOUR call. As for me, my family will be defended.
let me tell you what i think, a gun is a tool. it is a tool to be used for many applications for hunting, target shooting, competition shooting, and yes self defense. but they are just a tool. they don't have the specific purpose of "killing" it has what ever purpose the person holding it chooses. they are multi purpose inanimate objects. it is not the only object used for killing. you can kill someone with allmost anything, eg. a sharpened pencil to the neck. if you want to kill you will.
sorry about all the comments but--- This is where you kinda got it wrong. Pencils are NOT made to write mispelled words. they are made to write correct words. cars are not make to drive them while drunk. im sure it says it in the owners manual, i know they probably mention it when you get you license. im sure the one about food making you fat is more just a personal attack at rosie odonald. shes a flamming bitch
i think that the "if you outlaw guns only criminals will have them" is a crazy thing to say. if they outlawed guns i would bury mine in the grond and say i sold them a long time ago. but lets just say somehow all the guns & bullets on earth were gone. criminals would just use knifes, machetes, mase, stun guns, baseball bats, brass knuckles. broken glass in a pollow case, haha. you think a guy on a week long PCP or meth binge gives a crap if he has a gun?
dont think they wont ever try and take other right away either. remember when obama was running for pres? when a news station would say something bad about him his people would call ther an threaten them. "take what you said back or obama is not going to do any interviews for your station"
1 of the first things you say is "americans 2nd ammendment" its OUR right. that means we can have them plain and simple. what if i decided i didnt like some of the other amendments? what if i told you that you were no longer alowed to post videos with your "opinion"? or how about this, some people dont like guns, well i dont like those cell phone speakers that go in one ear. i want them outlawed. the right to bare arms is the most important, because without it all the others can be changed too
You use the retm "killing "in a broad sense..My guns kill deer, turkey, pheasant, quail, not people .however when faced with a armed invader with bad intentions I will use my guns to protect my family, myself and my property.the problem here is in every activist's mind ALL gun owners are crazy killers, and its just not true
The Miami Herald, Miami, Fla. 12/26/08 A resident of West Park, Fla. was returning home around 4:30 a.m., when he was confronted by an armed robber. The robber sneaked up behind the resident and pointed a gun at his head. The victim drew his own gun and fired at the robber, killing him. The Broward Sherriffs Office believes that the victim was justified in his actions, and did not arrest him.
The Tallahassee Democrat, Tallahassee, Fla. 02/25/09 Around 9:45 a.m. a burglar attempted to break into a home in Tallahassee, Fla. The homeowner heard the sound of breaking glass and retrieved his shotgun. The homeowner went to investigate and upon seeing the burglar fired his shotgun, causing the criminal to flee. According to police, the homeowners neighborhood has been the target of several burglaries within the last few weeks.
The Sacramento Bee, Sacramento, Calif. 11/10/08 Two intruders broke into a home in Sacramento, Calif., with the intent of robbing the resident. When the resident became aware of the robbers in his home, he retrieved his gun. The resident fired at the intruders, striking one, and causing the other to flee. The wounded intruder died at the scene, while his accomplice escaped. The police have recognized that the resident acted in self-defense.
KCRA Sacramento, Calif. 01/27/09 Around 1 a.m., a homeowner in Sacramento, Calif. noticed a burglar in the yard near his shed. The homeowner grabbed his flashlight and handgun and went to investigate. As the homeowner confronted the burglar, the burglar attacked him, cutting his face. The homeowner responded by firing his handgun, which caused the burglar to flee. Police were unable to tell if the homeowners shot struck the burglar and have not apprehended a suspect.
Yes, guns are for killing people. Bad people have and always will have guns, because they don't care that it's illegal. So, sadly indeed, good people that would further the insurance of their wellbeing and that of others must be prepared to defend themselves or others against these people (criminals). It's unfortunate, yes, but true. Criminals are, by definition, those who break laws, so they don't care if guns are illegal.
Instead of making guns illegal, why don't we make murder illegal...?
You voted for Obama didn't you? I bet you want a Socialistic type of healthcare don't you? What I want to know is are the police able to protect you 24/7? No Because I cannot be everywhere all the time. Firearms are used for a means of hunting to feed yourself. They are used for a means to teach good moral ethics. Firearms do have good uses. I just named 2. Contact me if you like. Oh yeah by the way GUNS are what founded this country and keep you safe from unruly hostile invaders!
Mehh your totally right, guns have no legitimate uses. I mean during the American revolution we could have easily beat those brits with sticks if we wanted to:D
Forks making Rosie fat is a positive thing? My gun protecting me and my family is a negative thing? Ted Kennedy's CAR killed more people than my guns!
No, I don't KILL with my gun, I PROTECT and DEFEND with my gun.
These days anything can be used in either a positive OR a negative way. Guns in the hands of sane, law-abiding citizens can only prevent bad things from happening. Removing guns from society is not the answer and will not reduce crime. It's been proven in England, China & Australia.

Keeping thinking and thanks for your thoughts in this video.
If I have to shoot, I will shoot to stop the attack, not shoot to kill.
I am glad that you are still open to hearing the other side of the issue, but I really do not think you have thought it through yet. Preserving innocent life is the most noble thing a person can do. Having a gun gives me a better chance of preserving my life and the lives of my family. What better use could you ask for?
Im at odds with the "not shoot to kill" thing Keith .If you could be more elaborate that would help me out .And yes im a subscriber too...anyways hope to hear from you soon ...
First, please turn off the air conditioner or whatever is making that back ground noise. Your video is not easy to hear.
As for your logic, you have missed the point and misunderstand responsible gun ownership. My gun's purpose is not to kill. It is to preserve life. Having a gun enables me to stop a threat that I would not be able to stop otherwise. If a criminal dies as a result of his choices, that it not my desire nor intent.
a guns good purpose? defending yourself from a gun wielding robber/lunatic(usa university's/malls/work, anywhere a person over the age of 18 is.) defending your family...the only reason we (americans) have it, is to oppose tyranny of government. who will protect you from those who were supposed to protect you, we are all human, some are greedy, some are evil, some are out of this world fucked up brilliantly evil. you must be free to orginize, and defend yourselves.
well your right guns are designed to kill, and kill, and kill. is this a bad thing heavens no, there are times you need to kill. you would still be paying taxes to the oppressive king if guns hadnt have interviened. its part of living free,
Guns can be used for hunting, sport, self-defense, collecting, so on and so forth. I own a variety of deadly weapons and have never used them for any negative purpose. However, the 2nd Amendment isn't about hunting or sporting, it is about giving citizens the ability to defend themselves against corrupt government. The world isn't always a happy place. Our forefathers killed for their freedom and ensured that future generations would have the same opportunity should the need present itself.
Even if "the only PURPOSE of a gun is to kill", it's not the only way in which it can be used. The police don't kill everyone they draw a gun on. Often times just showing a gun to someone intent on harming you is enough to make them run away. In fact, guns are used to deter crime over 700,000 times a year, on the low end, and up to 2.5 million times a year on the high end. So guns are used much more frequently to prevent crimes than to commit them.
MtiM's point is not with the merits of guns for there designed purpose. If someone is attacking you it's good to be armed. It is with how disingenuous the comparison of guns to cars or pencils is. Crashing is not the designed purpose of a car, making spelling mistakes is not the designed purpose of a pencil, killing people is the intended purpose of guns (or at least handguns anyway). That is the whole extent of his point.
Bows and knives are also invented to be tools of kill. In Chin dynasty, China, the emperor banned bows and knives and other weapons to prevent peasant uprising. Weapons control is nothing new. It is about control people, not saving people's lives.
Again, MtiM's point of discussion is not gun control but the disingenuous argument used by pro-gun side.
On a side note why do you think people own guns? To control people. In that regard there is no difference between both sides. All political decisions and all laws are about controlling people.
Countries with no gun ownership have lower levels of homicide so whatever gun control's stated purpose is it demonstrably saves lives.
Finland, and Israel have higher gun ownership and they have lower homicide rate than my country. If you look only at American whites, than homicide rate of my country is also higher than American whites. Homicide is a social issue. At places like Rwanda, where people are too poor to afford guns, machete are primary tool for murder and genocide. You prefer ban that too? Again, a tool is a tool, kitchen Western utensil all evolved from weapons. Shoka!!!
What is your home country? You're listed as being in the US but your name is Chinese.
No one is debating that it is impossible for a country to have high gun ownership and not have a high homicide rate, look at Canada. But a low gun owner ship rate is definitely linked to a generally low homicide rate. My country has the most draconian gun laws and it suits us all fine thanks.
As for machetes I refer you to my previous remarks on the purpose of these items. Really read what I wrote.
China's gun law is punishable by death, yet homicide rate (esp by gov) is still high. Low gun possession rate does not coincide with low murder rate. That is a myth proven wrong again and again, yet uneducated still believe lies. As for fork argument, refer to my other reply. It is 100% valid. There is no purpose for any item. We the people give purpose to it. You decide what to do with your gun, not the designer or gunmaker.
Let me clarify. Low gun ownership most definitely relates directly to low homicide rates committed with guns. None of this prevents a country from having other problems, like being corrupt, that lead to violence. Guns make those problems worse.
Unlike knives guns are the fight winner. They kill at a distance, knives don't; guns require little effort, knives need you to get close and personal, to smell the blood and the shit.
Every built thing has a purpose, that's why people built them!
Yeah, guns are great, and even your 80 yo grandmom can use a gun and kill 300lb rapist trying to grab her in distance. You factor that out, you're making the weak, the old, the female in the mercy of stronger. Unlike every other tools that can be use as weapons, only guns can be the tool of liberty. Also, saying that homicide by gun is worse than other means, or homicide can be prevented by removing gun is not only hypocritical, but also idiotic.
"Also, saying that homicide by gun is worse than other means, or homicide can be prevented by removing gun is not only hypocritical, but also idiotic."
Then it's a good thing i didn't say that. Really try reading what I wrote. I said it was easier not worse.
"..even your 80 yo grandmom can use a gun and kill 300lb rapist trying to grab her.."
I love this little fantasy! What do you imagine the 300lb rapist WILL have in his hand? If you're happy with an armed society fine. I'm glad mine isn't.
1. You did say that gun control reduce gun-related crime, that's hypocritical and idiotic statement, because a crime is a crime, regardless the tool used. 2. I can find more than a dozen cases where old people fend themselves off by simply brandishing a gun just happen last few years. You fail at reality level.
Okay sparky you are clearly having a conversation with yourself here. I'm going to do you a favour and put it down to you working in a second language and not to you being an intellectual coward. But I'll leave you with this last statement at what I did and did not say.
I never denied I think gun-control reduces gun crime, duh! I did deny I said gun homicide is WORSE than other homicide.
Don't bother replying as you're not interested in a conversation.
Where is your anti-gun argument in the last reply? I don't see it. Is that you call a refutation? Fact is that I know what your kind are thinking, and I simply pre-amped you by throwing what you believe, and you've got no words left but fear of guns. "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -Ben Franklin
"Fact is that I know what your kind are thinking and I simply pre-amped you by throwing what you believe" FYI you mean pre-empting.
You know nothing about me retard, you've not even understood a single statement I've made to you, nor asked me a constructive question. You're to busy frothing your sound bites. We're not even having a discussion here. I might as well be talking to myself so bye and good luck, you're going to need it.
I know you're anti-gun. That's one thing I know about you. For the rest of you, I couldn't care less. Good job for leaving no valid argument for the last two reply but only ad hominem attack. That's understandable since you lose on both argument and reality. I still have tonnes of valid pro-gun and pro-liberty waiting for you, but I guess truth is too heavy for you to bear, and so are guns.
There is nothing wrong about Rosie O'Donnel's fork statement. That is 100% valid. You think it's disingenuous because you are anti-gun by default. A tool is a tool. McVeigh killed more people than the asshole in VT by using fertilizer and a rental truck. We the PEOPLE are the cause of the action, while a tool is only a mean. Blaming guns for murder is equivalent to blaming fork for making you fat and blaming TV for making you stupid.
@ManInTheMirr0r also think about the ineffectiveness of gun control, if you outlaw guns do you really think criminals will listen to that law? no of course not, but it will strip civilians of their ability to defend themselves, i can give you a whole long list of mass shootings in gun free zones as a result of this, in my opinion its not a difficult subject at all, every statistic points to how ineffective gun control is, thats why they just lifted handgun bans in chicago and D.C.
It is better to find out what would have happened if you had no guns, Killing even in "self defense" is murder, there is no justice in responding to evil with evil.
No, sorry, killing in self-defense is not murder. You may be of the opinion that killing another person in self-defense is wrong, but it's categorically not murder, at least according to practically every legal tradition. "Murder" is a very specific term, not be confused with "killing" or "homicide".
Murder is INTENTIONALLY AND KNOWINGLY taking another persons life. If you want to get into the the 'legal world' even unintentionally and unknowingly taking another persons life can be murder, "negligent homicide" etc. Let's not wander off target here, responding to an intruder or attacker with a weapon and harming them instead of you is the same evil as if they were to have carried it out on you.
Nope again you are wrong. Murder is the intentional unlawful killing of another with malice aforethought. Lawful self-defense by very definition is homicide but not murder. You are welcome to your opinion regarding self-defense, but hundreds of years of common law tradition and case precedence disagree.
Guns are already invented. You can't reverse the course. Making guns are easy, making gunpowder is even easier. Anyone with basic tool and knowledge and make revolver. With proper incentives, you'll have an underground industry. I attest that because I am from a gun-ban country and bad guys ALWAYS have guns.
You need to turn your vibrator off, I could barely tell that you were talking out of your left wing ass.

Bows and knives are also invented to be tools of kill. In Chin dynasty, China, the emperor banned bows and knives and other weapons to prevent peasant uprising. Weapons control is nothing new. It is about control people, not saving people's lives.
ChaohsiangChen 3 years ago

Shoka!!!
ChaohsiangChen 3 years ago

ChaohsiangChen 3 years ago

ChaohsiangChen 3 years ago

There wasn't one, seriously try reading.
Boldhome 3 years ago
I know you're anti-gun. That's one thing I know about you. For the rest of you, I couldn't care less. Good job for leaving no valid argument for the last two reply but only ad hominem attack. That's understandable since you lose on both argument and reality. I still have tonnes of valid pro-gun and pro-liberty waiting for you, but I guess truth is too heavy for you to bear, and so are guns.
ChaohsiangChen 3 years ago
There is nothing wrong about Rosie O'Donnel's fork statement. That is 100% valid. You think it's disingenuous because you are anti-gun by default. A tool is a tool. McVeigh killed more people than the asshole in VT by using fertilizer and a rental truck. We the PEOPLE are the cause of the action, while a tool is only a mean. Blaming guns for murder is equivalent to blaming fork for making you fat and blaming TV for making you stupid.

There are plenty of "purposes" firearms serve other than killing other people. Hunting, collecting, and target shooting to name a few.

you have your home broken into in the night- find a guy in your home, like happened to me-
if I didn't have my gun- he could of killed me and my kids... So I shoot the man dead.. find out that he had a gun on him..

No need for insults my good man, as I say, I'm entirely open to conversation.
You make a good point and I'll certainly take it into account while I think about the issue, but there's no need for such harsh words.
All I mean to do is offer some thoughts.
ManInTheMirr0r 3 years ago

BLUEFlSH7 3 years ago
No, sorry, killing in self-defense is not murder. You may be of the opinion that killing another person in self-defense is wrong, but it's categorically not murder, at least according to practically every legal tradition. "Murder" is a very specific term, not be confused with "killing" or "homicide".
vaguy78 3 years ago
Murder is INTENTIONALLY AND KNOWINGLY taking another persons life. If you want to get into the the 'legal world' even unintentionally and unknowingly taking another persons life can be murder, "negligent homicide" etc. Let's not wander off target here, responding to an intruder or attacker with a weapon and harming them instead of you is the same evil as if they were to have carried it out on you.
BLUEFlSH7 3 years ago
Nope again you are wrong. Murder is the intentional unlawful killing of another with malice aforethought. Lawful self-defense by very definition is homicide but not murder. You are welcome to your opinion regarding self-defense, but hundreds of years of common law tradition and case precedence disagree.
vaguy78 3 years ago
Guns are already invented. You can't reverse the course. Making guns are easy, making gunpowder is even easier. Anyone with basic tool and knowledge and make revolver. With proper incentives, you'll have an underground industry. I attest that because I am from a gun-ban country and bad guys ALWAYS have guns.
