I'm glad I bought the DVDs for this series, its really well done=) Except the ending, I can appreciate the ending more now, after looking up some things I didn't know, but after all that's happen with Zwei/Reiji and Ein/Erin, and even Cal Devens, I was holding on to the hope that these characters would get to live the life they so very much deserved! Granted, I still get angry when I see that scene where Reiji shoots that child, who's only crime was being the son of a mob boss=(

Great anime....but yeah, they killed almost everyone who they should....almost find happines...and then...;/ they could leave them alone finally. But as legends say, u cant leave Mafia, or if u do u are dead, but he died too easy, since he was one of the best killer ever.

Well, it is spectated that it wasn't the Inferno that killed them. It is most likely that Ein shot Zwei and then took her own life by eating the flower which is actually poisonous upon further research. The ending was quite complex, however makes total sense.

They weren't happy running away all the time and killing people, so by taking their lifes, they could die together happy and be together in the after life.

Maybe it'll make you feel better.

I disagree. I think Elen wanted to live her life out with him. I think most likely it was indeed the cart driver who killed him.

It's never said wether Elen is still alive at the end or not. Of course she did say earlier that without Reiji she would have no reason to live. Still, if she dies too, then that's REALLY depressing...
