Nice vid, and thanks for introducing the 1022. I'm fairly new to this and have recently begun to build a collection. I was looking for a .22 rifle but didn't know what to get, so instead I ended up with a Remington 308 for longer ranges. But I love the idea of a smaller cheaper rifle, and now that I've read up on it after your demo, this is it. Your dad's knife is awesome btw. I wish I had something like that, not a show piece but just something with character that just works.
The knife from ur dad is not a Ka Bar but it is a Military copy.... Our Government is always open to the cheapest bid.... even when it comes to our Military's weapons. Ka Bar was too high priced so they out sourced to Camillus for awhile then to Ontario Knife Company and now they use someone else I think. I have one of each of these three brands and all are pretty much equal in quality...ALL great knives! Good START...Like the vid.

Yes that's a K bar. Made in New York and the sheath may bs from Mexico. It was issued to US troops during WWII through Korea. Reactivated for Vietnam and Desert Storm. That's a good, battle tested knife.

@upstateprepper Camillus is back making knives again although not with Eathan Becker he is still making the Becker BK knife series with KaBar which is still my favorite fixed blade my Becker BK2

The camillus I'm referring to is the camillus cuttlery co , they declared bankruptcy in 2007 when the economy first started to go down hill & nearly crippled the Syracuse area when they closed in 2007/2008. Between the knife shops & factories like 1200 people lost jobs. I heard (like kabar) they sold the name camillus cuttlery co to some Chinese company but I'm not sure that's a fact , wouldn't surprise me thought
@upstateprepper no Camillus Cutlery has been making knives again since 2009 they were bought out form bankruptcy for something like $200,000 from a company called Acme United and they pretty much have a whole new line of knives nothing really that they used to make besides a folder knife called the Cuda but i am sure Acme United is from China who knows but Ethan Becker better keep his BK line at KaBar and better not think of switching back to this new Camillus

when you can get a 7.62x39 upper for your AR and a couple mags for It. Then when you get the full size AK you want, If you had to you could all rock 7.62x39

@upstateprepper Camillus is back making knives again although not with Eathan Becker he is still making the Becker BK knife series with KaBar which is still my favorite fixed blade my Becker BK2

@gunnerrun13 is there a guy named camillus? The camillus I'm referring to is the camillus cuttlery co , they declared bankruptcy in 2007 when the economy first started to go down hill & nearly crippled the Syracuse area when they closed in 2007/2008. Between the knife shops & factories like 1200 people lost jobs. I heard (like kabar) they sold the name camillus cuttlery co to some Chinese company but I'm not sure that's a fact , wouldn't surprise me thought

@upstateprepper no Camillus Cutlery has been making knives again since 2009 they were bought out form bankruptcy for something like $200,000 from a company called Acme United and they pretty much have a whole new line of knives nothing really that they used to make besides a folder knife called the Cuda but i am sure Acme United is from China who knows but Ethan Becker better keep his BK line at KaBar and better not think of switching back to this new Camillus

@gunnerrun13 that's cool the name is still around even if its not made in Camillus NY, I'm sure the high end knives are made in the US if its tied to a reputable knives maker . I know for a fact that kabar fighting knives that the military used for so long even still stamped Olean NY are made in Taiwan, very sad the most American blade ever made by some 5 year old boy in a Taiwan factory . The one that @Poppaswine33 has might be worth something,looks like he has an old one , maybe an original.

@gunnerrun13 just like kabars usmc fighting knife has Ocean NY stamped on the blade , must be for nostalgia because anyone that's ever been to Ocean NY knows those knives are made in China lol

@upstateprepper not that i am aware of all the KaBar Becker BK knives are all made in the USA and made of 1095 Crovan USA steel and i still really want to pick up the Kabar Becker Necker it is one of the best Neck knives you can get!

@gunnerrun13 my bad , its not the beckers, ka bar dozers & a few other folders are from Taiwan but the weird thing is ka bar still stamps Olean NY on there knives Taiwan made or not. Becker blades are good old fashion USA made . Kind of funny in a weird way our military uses knives made in China . I have no issue with Japanese blades, a lot of my spydercos are from Seki-City Japan & they are great quality. Sorry about my wrong info

@upstateprepper my EDC knife the KaBar Doizer is one of them made in Taiwan but i will tell you
it is hands down my favorite EDC folding knife. blade steel is Aus 8 and scary sharp right out of the box
and only $15.00-$16.00 from Amazon in multiple colors. next time you are looking for an awesome folding knife for cheap i Highly Highly recommend the KaBar Doizer Folding knife
