  • the propeller is far too low

  • He didn't make that. It is a real boat called the craig kat. He is a LIERRR!!!!!

  • I don't see any advantages over conventional boat design. That size motor should be able to produce more speed than that. That thing would get swamped with any kind of waves.

You should build one that rides on two hydrofoils. Or one hydrofoil and two stabilizer pontoons.

  • Top speed?

  • sits way low in the water

  • pretty much a Craig Cat..... =/

  • I really want to build a boat. I got plans from a boat builder in Homer, AK for a nice cat they built for charters. The thing is sweet.

  • cool thing

  • Nice job wonderfull boat but I think it would do you good to put something in the back to make it float more equally.

    Nice work.

  • low cost and really fun

    good going guys

    awesome :) !

  • I think CraigCat would file suit pretty fast!!!! but cool boat, I took the same concept but ran with pontoons instead: search for "Riff Raft" on Ziggyland's channel

  • hahahahahaha@"it infringes on a patent".....riiiiiiiiiiiiight

  • pos i wish it would break in half!

  • bravo!! bien réalisé!

  • wow great try guys, great vid

  • Patent 5,529,008 doesn't apply to this. The key in the patent text is "the platform removably attached to the floats,"

  • FAIL

  • I was waiting for the portion of the video where the boat rips in half and the two surf boards take there separate routes, hah!

  • Lol that sux.

  • portage lake?

  • Dear DayDreamer2014 I am really impressed with what you have done with this boat. The patent I refer to is one owned by Robert Craig the owner of Craigcats. He manufactures the boat in Florida. The patent no is 5,529,008 dated June 25th 1996. I only made the comment, just in case you were planning to do more with it, as it does conflict with the Craigcat patent. I realise that you built this for fun and that with a first attempt, we all learn a lot. You guys are very inventive. Keep it up.

  • @carldaley have a cry why dont cha

  • huge, colossal, FAIL.

  • Mostlyfun might want to try to get hisown patent!!

  • @craig0201 its a home built buddy relax lol

  • @DayDreamer2014 what is the two beams made out of

  • Quite the ringer for the Craigcat....

  • Fun until the front digs in and flips you!

  • surf boards

  • Been thinking of doing the same thing for a bit of reef fishing.

Do you think the seats were set a bit too far back ?

  • can it take any kind of swell

  • i seen a boat just like this on the ouchita river yesterday, except it had a 30 hp merc on it

  • Looks like a fun project, nice work.

  • @Mostlyfun thanks

  • hey man do you have plans for it but eneyway great boat

  • @jamesbond2233 Hey, nope the boat was built without any plans

  • 9.9hp in 2 surf doard??? good idea i gonna build one like the one/ congratulation good jod, from El Salvador, sorry for my bad english

  • neat

  • FAIL BOAT IS UNDERWAY!!!!

  • bad ass

  • visit my video

  • visit my video

  • What a fat ass!

  • I would have made the pontoons bigger. Why get wet? If you are ok with being wet, then just buy a skidoo.

  • @DanieljDixon that what you get when you make them out of what apears to be surfboards?

  • @thebarathrumm

No I think its a boat/submarine! Brilliant... but they forget your snorkel and gogs.

  • i would hate to be in that boat when the front goes under water and dives it into the drink...it looks like it wouldn't take much ...like a big wave going over the front.....oops!

Otherwise it looks fun if you had a faster motor

  • i like it i want one!

  • One of the boat drivers looks like John Lithgow

( actor - playing the high commander - 3rd rock from the sun).

Nice work by the way !

  • omg im so jealous that boat is ammazzzziinnnggggggg!!!

  • i would BUY one if it had a little more floatation

  • nice boat look awsome

  • Yer nay feert!! lol!!

Aye eit weis lop sydit fin eih theinner lad gid aboord lol!

  • needs a 25hp motor! fun build! good job!

  • the motor strugling to get up

  • I would've made it with pontoons like the ones on those small sail boats. Then you'll be more likely to cut through a large wave rather than dig into it. And of course a little longer, and with a larger motor. Nice job nonetheless. Definitely runs better with one person. Looks like it'd be fun on a calm day. Now you've got me wanting to build something similar.

  • There ahve to be atleast a dozen regulation violations in or on that boat. Othet than that, kudos for the simplicity and design.

  • DUDE that is so cool i like how you used serfbords

  • Great job fellas! For a new vid take it out on white caps! hahaha

  • Cool, you should follow it up with a homemade motor. You got the talent, Keep on buildin'.

  • don't build one or buy one. Far too little buoyancy and a real danger of it pitch-poling. Also are they testing it for a first time in a flood? not wise!

  • Sometimes you win, sometimes not really, but congratulations are in order for the hulls not busting apart. Keep up the good work!

  • very nice catamaran bravo

  • Seems it has no practical purpose and movement on it is very restricted.

  • very innovative!!!

    pay patrol !!!

    vroom vroom !!! hahhaha

  • i think evinrude make a 25 on the same block as the 9.9 that wouldn't be much heavier. It would fly with something like that!

  • Looks a lot like a home made craigcat

  • thats what i was thinking, i hope they now craigcat has that stuff pattonted

  • That blew my mind!

That looked like so much fun I want to build one!

I'm gonna look on E-bay and see if anybody is selling cheap home made boats just for kicks!

    GREAT VIDEO!!

  • Build one. Don't buy one.

  • u should mount a 100 hourse =D

  • seems dangerious...but who cares what a great idea...i would love to have that moter and put stick steering on my jonboat

  • Now they should put pontoons on a Pinto!

  • We were not aware our CatNip design infringed on any patents.....and no, we're not planning on commercializing it

  • @DayDreamer2014 I have a question please go to my channel and pm me. what is it all made of it looks to me tha platoons are looking like surfboards, or are the pieces of styrofoam?

  • @DayDreamer2014 The catamaran design is about 2000 years old I think cardaley is out of his mind if he thinks that it could be patented ask him for the supposed patent #, he can't give it to you because it does not exist.

Anyway boats and ships with any kind of property rights are protected by copyright laws and it’s the plans that are copyright protected not the vessel. Patent my ass, that would be like patenting a boat because it floats, or a bike because it has 2 wheels.

  • @carldaley which one?

  • @carldaley looks like a Craig Cat...

  • what size motor?

  • 9.9..........needs a 15

  • @DayDreamer2014 you need 3 250s on it

    hahah

  • looks like a craigcat

  • cool idea. maybe the seats can be moved up to disperse the weight better? also why are all the trees underwater?

  • maybe put the tank at the front.....?

  • move the seats to the front

  • not too bad once you get it to plane out

  • really nice, how did it float? how did you build it? foam?

  • my guess two surfboards and some other things maybe foam

  • wow that thing is so cool!!!!!

  • do you live in new york?

  • lol lean forward when takeing off!

  • Nifty watercraft!

  • SURFS UP

  • That looks like a blast, id have it at the bottom in know time!

  • are those pontunes home made? they almost look like 2 windsurfer boards..

  • wow, looks a lot like a craig cat, they are popular here in fla and run with a 25 engine.

  • lol yea craig cats

  • Looks like you had a blast making this thing. Of course it is illegal in almost any place I can think us and it looks like it is not very seaworthy, but I am sure it was fun.

BE CAREFUL, hopefully you are done riding that thing.

  • how is it illegal? it floats i saw a plywood and 2x4 boat with a 15hp? illegal no!

    sinking yes!

  • I did not see a registration number anywhere on it.

  • o gotcha, o well that's just to get more money out of use , putting taxes on water/fun.....sad

  • The east coast boys would like to order one for the long reach and Jones Creek
