Well for example upgrading the GI bill for the 21st century. Currently, someone who has served only receives around 5 grand for college when they come back. This may have been a tuition for colleges back in World War II but not in 2008. Another would be to treat them properly for Post traumatic stress disorder to cut down on the number of veterans' suicides. Currently thousands of Vietnam vets are killing themselves and hundreds of Iraq Vets. There are more but I am out of room in this box.
If they are willing to stand up for us, we should be willing to do the same for them. Seeing a homeless Vietnam vet who is homeless because he is crazy as a result of the things he saw in 'Nam serving his country and getting no help from the VA is a national tragedy. Giving those who served us what they deserve isn't Socialism...it is what America stands for in every sense of it.

Kennedy didn't start the Vietnam war. Troops first went in under Eisenhower and were escalated to full blown war under Johnson. And Bay of Pigs was a major mistake...one he admitted to.

If truth be told, Roosevelt's New Deal policies never gave permanent relief to the needy, or reform to the financial system, and the economy only recovered when Hitler took advantage of the fact we were in a depression. Only when we had to gear for war did our economy recover. (Just as a side note Roosevelt's delay cost the lives of millions of Europeans and years of misery in America.)

Well for example upgrading the GI bill for the 21st century. Currently, someone who has served only receives around 5 grand for college when they come back. This may have been a tuition for colleges back in World War II but not in 2008. Another would be to treat them properly for Post traumatic stress disorder to cut down on the number of veterans' suicides. Currently thousands of Vietnam vets are killing themselves and hundreds of Iraq Vets. There are more but I am out of room in this box.

Kennedy didn't start the Vietnam war. Troops first went in under Eisenhower and were escalated to full blown war under Johnson. Cuban Missle Crisis was one of the greatest accomplishments by a president to save us from the brink of nuclear disaster...I don't see how you can possibly think that he did a poor job of handling that. And Bay of Pigs was a major mistake...one he admitted to.

If truth be told, Roosevelt's New Deal policies never gave permanent relief to the needy, or reform to the financial system, and the economy only recovered when Hitler took advantage of the fact we were in a depression. Only when we had to gear for war did our economy recover. (Just as a side note Roosevelt's delay cost the lives of millions of Europeans and years of misery in America.)

Why don't you explain the many Islamic jihads that the U.S. has been targeted by? We fought the naval conflict with the Barbary pirates, defeated the Ottoman Empire (among others) in WWI and helped overthrow Iran's shah. Other than those we didn't call Muslims our enemies in a single armed conflict before 1980...and calling any of those jihad would be a stretch to say the least.
