spent the first 21 years of my life living on that stretch of highway. Great video, and the Bridger Creek Boys are amazing. Makes me wish i hadn't moved to the big city to be in the navy and see the world after all.
Ive done that drive before on my way back from Seattle......as an east coaster thats a distance my friend. Bozeman and Missoula are far apart by eastcoast standards.
I may be making a drive like that on a daily basis if I get into MSU's Earth Sciences Masters program. My girfriend's applying to University of Montana in Missoula so we figured we'd live somewhere in the middle like Butte or Helena. Not looking forward to a 3 hour daily commute, especially during winter...
What a great video. Like a number of Montanans - grew up and took a lot of what was "ordinary" for granted. Loved growing up in MT and the years at MSU. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Thanks for this video. I grew up in Anaconda but consider Bozeman my real home. Been living in exile on the east coast for too many years. Your video made me homesick all over again.
Who would think, a vid sped up of you driving from Mizzoo to bozo would be interesting.. but it was! lol... good shit. i will look back at this when i move back to denver and say I USED TO LIVE THERE!!! lol, I DROVE THAT DRIVE... haha
memories =)
(i do have to say... colorado is prettier in the mountain areas) and one of the only prettiest places than colorado that i have been is Japan. mt fuji is an amazing sight.
great vid. thanks so much. i was born in missoula and grew up in bozeman...as a child of hippies, we traveled this often. makes me feel like a kid all over again =o)
i go to school in missoula and also live in billings. Just got back froms school on wednesday. this drive is fun to watch. especially if your from montana and know where your at and when you are there :-) i like this video.
Beautiful time of year - my wife and I both went to school in Missoula and now live in Oregon. Needless to say, we know the are well and miss it a lot!!
Awesome video... I made that drive a couple times last summer, as I have relatives in both Bozeman and Missoula. The best part is the drive through the Beaverhead-Deer Lodge National Forest by Butte. On a similar note, I made a trip from Many Glacier to Bozeman going 89/287/90 in under 5 hours, going at about the same speed as the video... I was told it was a new state record.
im in germany right now doing a foreign exchange year and it really made me miss beautiful montana seeing this video. I used to live in Hamilton and commuted to livingston a lot so i know the drive...crazy seeing it go so fast...thought the song was a good touch too.
right on, just another day in paradise. i know the drive and i know the song and i've known them together:-) i'm living south of roanoke(VA) same as in the song these days. thanks for the memory. good summer
Cool vid! I'm from Zoo Town (Sentinel '84) and UofM grad, but Bozo's always fun...AND I lived in Santa Clarita for years...now in Spokane thinking of moving back to Missoula and opening a bike shop. Thanks for filming the drive!
I moved to VA from Drummond 12 yrs ago. You have no idea how cool this is for us who made that trip 5 or 10 times a week to get parts for the swather, take music lessons at the UofM, see a movie at the Wilma, or risk food poisoning at Hermees...Ah, good times, good times...
Man, this is the best one yet. Wish I was in that passneger seat enjoying the scenery first hand listening to some Old Crow. (good version of the song by the way)
One more week and I'll be heading the other way up the 90... can't wait.
dude that was cool. for a missoula guy in san antonio tx for the last 5 years, it was great to see home! i have drove that route at least a hundred times.
This video does have a special meaning to those who have taken that highway 8,000 freaking times.

Wow...what a cool idea!! Now how long of a trip is it in real time? on the video, 5 minutes 46 seconds isn't too bad, huh?? :o)
ChristieAnn67 4 years ago
It's about 2 and a half hours.
TruthCheck 4 years ago
TruthCheck is right about the time. Missoula to Bozeman along I-90 is about 2.5 hours. Thanks for the view.
shortbusclw 4 years ago
Doing the math... The video is sped up by about 26 times the normal speed.
Proof:
(46s + 5min*60s/min = 346s)
(2.5h*60min/h*60s/min = 9000s)
9000s/346s = 26.0
